Mike Batt, as well as writing Bright Eyes, discovered Katie Melua, which explains why I suddenly sat up in the bath this afternoon to hear her singing the wistful melodies of The Dreamstone!

Beautiful song. Especially the orchestra bit at the end, and the conclusion. Shame today's artists don't have the musical talent to pull something like this off (they just cover every song under the song and make a living from it). Bring on the real musicians with the ability to make songs like this for future generations!

Breaking News. This morning on BBBC Radio 2 Ken Bruce show Katie Melua sand her new version of Better Than A Dream. Ken mentioned Mike Batt but no mention of The Dreamstone as its reason for existing.

The new song is nice but its not anything like this old theme. Check out the song.
