doesn't seem very good for a first class compared to asian and middle east airlines....but pretty good for a European airline and definately better than american airlines
It's funny to see that the A380's only been flying for 5 years and 777 is not the newest plane, yet the 777 seems to be a better plane. You know what they say "if it aint Boeing I aint going".
Finally an Airline employed a proper design team. Sick of all the decadent, golden crap that the Asian airlines churn out, this is clean, minimal and understated, definitely flying BA next time I fly.
As a long-time missionary for the homeless, I don't think I have a nerve to fly first-class ever, even if I am wealthy enough one day ! I rather donate monies to charity and fly coach. [ Just my opinion, and nothing against first-class folks.] Bless U!
I'm pretty sure first class gets to the destination the same time as economy. And if the plane crashes, your all gonna have the same outcome anyway. So why bother paying thousands of dollars extra for something you can only use for a few hours?
@jacksonkidd If you fly a lot, the ability to lie down and sleep on 14+ hour flights is literally worth its weight in gold. You pay thousands of dollars extra if you can afford the convenience. If I wanted to charter a private jet for an international flight it would run something like $17,000 per HOUR. In that light, these first class suites are a bargain in terms of price vs private space while flying.
@jacksonkidd Maybe because there are people who actually like having extra comfort while they are flying and they have the money to spend it in first class tickets ;)
@Mustkill3 hehe, I'm sure the airlines wished that was possible too ,but due to high friction and air pressure the windows have to be small ,thats why all planes have such windows.
@Mustkill3 same but then I thought hang on the plane will crash if their that big and then when they opened up the blinds I was like oooo right, that's clever giving the impression of a large window when it's just to standard ones. Looks very nice but not sure if it is better than the Qantas A380 Suite. Unfortunately though I've never flown first class and probably never will but still a good tour of the suite/seat.
@Kyodaikuma This isn't ugly, it's a refined, minimalist design. I've been on emirates first class this year and it was your typical frilly uncultured approach to design. I hate it when people like you are under the impression that something covered in gold paint and a few small water features is classed as beautiful. British Airways have finally got the best looking First Class of any airline, stop trying to belittle it.
i actually thought that you were flying until i saw that you were inside the big garage... :(

how do you get access to these planes on a private tour?
Deltaman9895 1 month ago
@Deltaman9895 This wasn't an actual airplane but was a mockup in BA's facilities at Heathrow. I was given a private tour when I visited in January.

This is basically the Cathay Pacific new business class layout with more frills.
A freind of a friend works in seat design for lots of airlines so I'm not surprised!

I think the window blinds are super. What a unique idea that BA have here. Very classy!
