This was a great interview by a well respected, Real Journalist that actually uses the truth. They are very rare these days. Robert Frisk is another great journalist that tells it like it is about the Middle East. Great comments as well, so far that is. Anyway, thanks RT for this glimpse of real journalism since we don't have that in America anymore. We only have the theatrics of the fake Diatribe of Left/Right media. When they all tell/endorse the same lie but come @ it from a different angle.

Changing the curtains in the White House doesn't change the policy. He isn't in charge and I believe that he's made that quit obvious. He is following the same agenda that his/our overlords handed to him. Our last President we had was John F. Kennedy. As soon as he had a changed and tried to expose them they killed him!

Russia has taken Iran's money years ago to complete the nuclear power station of Bushehr in Iran and hasn't done it yet after years. Russia has taken Iran's money years ago in 2005 to sell defense system of S-300 to Iran and hasn't done it yet (following the Americans) while she is using Iranian money and doesn't give it back. Now this guy wants Russia to be a righteous representative of the small land. RIDICULOUS!

This is nice interview and I think John Pilger is a decent gentleman. However I have an objection on his last point - the small nations are expect that Russia stands for them.
I want to remind people that Russia did stand many, many times in the history for the small, exploited, poor... Russia stood against Nazism, against exploitation of poor majority by the rich minority, against inequality between sexes, against religions fanaticism and interference of the Church into state affairs...

It is very disgusting when I hear eastern Europeans nations complaining about USSR "occupying" them when the very same small eastern European nations participate in the aggressions and occupations of other small nations (Afghanistan, Iraq, Serbia) for the interests of their western masters. The very same small nations are selling themselves to the western imperialists since they expect that they would make them rich, just like many of these "small nations" sold themselves to Hitler during WW2.

@mac9876ab If you had survived Stalin's man made famine in Ukraine, I don't think you would appreciate the USSR either. The USSR helped Hitler destroy and divide Poland. The USSR occupied Romanian and Hungary. There are a lot of legitimate reasons why these countries are bitter with Russia.

- Stalin was a GEORGIAN who killed many Russians.
- Stalin example is the perfect example of how SMALL NATIONS had opportunity to rule over Russians. Not only Stalin but the second man of USSR at that time was also Gerogian (L. Beria). In fact the whole USSR apparatus at that time was flooded with Georgians. Stalin rearranged USSR by stripping territories from Russia and giving them to other republics, including his own Georgia.

- Famine was not only in Ukraine but in ALL parts of USSR with big agriculture potential, particularly in Russia and Kazakhstan.
- USSR occupied Romania and Hungary on the same grounds USA occupied (and still continues to occupy) Germany, Japan, Italy - these were aggressor countries who started WW2. However USSR had more legitimacy to occupy them than USA (80% of Axis forces were on the eastern front).
