  • I think I squealed five times while watching this. God, Zach, why must you be so adorable?

  • This could be one of John Dorians daydreams.

  • LOL!

  • That is such great humor. he is brilliant!

  • "I'm not going to be crass and say I'd love to tap that, but I would love to tap that"

    :D

  • ♥

  • wow...

  • That's it. I'm in love with Zach Braff. This cements it.

  • "I would love to tap that"

    INSPIRED!

  • What kind of typewriter is that?

  • it's an antique!

  • What in holy hell is "Ampatapa"?

  • he was saying, AMPTP(Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers) but he's trying to be funny so he went Ampatapa which technically represents AMPTP.

  • I would love that you all can "tap that" again soon!!!

till in brazil we are supporting your cause!

  • Just watched #1 - #30. Have seen some wonderful shorts, but this tops them all. Not sure if Zach Braff wrote this one, but it's great. I love it, "I would love to tap that...", brilliant!

I SUPPORT THE WGA!!!! I SUPPORT THE WGA!!!!

  • The concept was Zach's. A lot of improv went on in the room. The "I would love to tap that" line is Jill Kushner's. Zach's delivery was so hilarious we almost lost it during the shooting.

Thanks for the support! Hopefully this will be over soon and we can all get back to work.

    - Alan Sereboff

  • Jill Kushner is inspiring! And friggen H.O.T.T.! I would love to tap *that*. Witty and Jewy? Mmmmmm. Maybe one day I'll make it to L.A.

  • hahha funny

  • lol zach braff is fuking hilarious. hopefully this ends like in 2 weeks like everyone is saying so we can get scrubs back. reality tv is crap. sitcoms are more real than reality. anyways support the writers they work their asses off for shitty pay to give us these shows.

  • I loves you Zach Braff. You are my favorite comidean. Beyonce is my favorite singer. How about beating Jay-z and trying to get with B. What a beautiful couple in my eyes you'd be.

Just kidding I love Jay too.

  • ZB is not a comedian...

  • Fuck You John. Well, just your comment. No Offense. Zach Braff is hilarious on Scrubs.

  • U r right he not only is the Best comedian ever but he is also a great producer and actor. So blahhhh!

  • omg hes not a comedian. he might be funny, he might be an actor/writer/director/producer/.....comedian?...i think not...neil flynn however IS a comedian/improv actor. as nttainme so eloquently put it "so blahhhh"....

  • im sorry everyone but i have to agree with John Zach Braff is not a comedian he is only on a comedy show that dose not make you a comedian (but thats only in my eyes) Still Zach Braff is funny as hell but you have to keep in mind that (im not sure if in correct if im not then great) Zach braff dosent wright his own material which in my eyes dosent make him a comedian.. he may be funny but thats as far as a comedian he is.... sorry ZB love you work :)

  • Geez, I bet anything, you guys are some out of work actors. Auntieanne, I would suggest writer but given "dosent, Wright &dose" I'm gonna go with, no!.

I don't know the stringent rules to be a comedian in u'r eyes, I love Zach, I am addicted to scrubs, I was touched by Garden state. I'm happy ZB in his various capacities is doing well. So you don't have to be sorry, It's u'r opinion and just like an anal opening most people have one.

    Hi,2891blah,blah,blah,blaba,blabababaJohn2891

  • well im from sweden so sorry for not being abel to spell as good as you... i also "love Zach, I am addicted to scrubs, I was touched by Garden state" so im sorry if i made you pissed off

  • He wrote a whole comedy movie, being a comedian doesn't neccesarily mean having to do stand up. H Being a comedian just generally means making people laugh, and Zach has done that. And he assigned to make this video, this he wrote.

  • well, auntieannes, Zach Braff is a writer. He wrote Garden State among others. You don't have to be a comedian to have a sense of humor and write. His humor is subtle, intelligent and just below the surface. Writers like Braff don't need slap-stick humor to be funny.

  • i cant belive im still getting shit for that one comment... look i said "im not sure if im correct if not then great" so just drop it i was wrong... i know that now gees... sorry Zb and everyone else in the world...

  • What's the last thing he says in the video?

  • "Still hike Runyon?" It's a reference to a popular hiking destination here in L.A. (Runyon Canyon)

  • ive watched a few of these now, and in a couple of them, there are words that were made up, like amptp in this one. what are these/what do they represent? thanks.

  • AMPTP - Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. It's an acronym.

  • Zach ist einer der der es sehr weit bringen wird. schauspielerisch ist er einer der besten die ich kenne

  • We all support the strike until our favorite shows start going into reruns, and then we whine about it, when the people who do this every day get paid next to nothing compared to the people sitting on their asses on the top floor. They should strike until they get what they deserve.

    -DKM

  • The writer's get paid next to nothing compared to what the networks make off of their work. Don't make you're self look like an ignorant asshole. You'd be doing the same thing if you were in their position. You can't say that you don't support something when you obviously know nothing about it!

  • Yes, I am whinning. Heros ended too soon, thank goodness lost is coming back and I miss scrubs.

I belong to a Union at work so I support the writers. But I miss my shows, come to an agreement already. I hear more reality shows are coming. Aaaaaahhhhhh!

  • i didn't know zach was in this video....cute

  • Ah, Zach, you are amazing. Great way to express the strike.

  • great message!

he is just so funny, no matter what he does!

  • Zach Braff is fricken awesome! Scrubs rules!

  • lmao

  • Hi Zach.

I really loved how you say AMPTP, it says a lot.

I'm a HUGE fan of Scrubs..

I agree with the Strike, and I really disagree with everyone that says that this is a stupid strike for a few bucks.

I think WGA should be on Strike, even if it were for 1 cent, because this is a question of basic rights, and without these you have nothing.

If the price I will "pay" is that Scrubs won't have a finale, so be it. But I hope that the WGA and AMPTP can reach soon.

    Greetings from PORTUGAL

    Ziggy

  • I'm beginning to disagree with the strike as well. I heard it was only like a $2000 difference? Maybe the writers need to think up a new strategy, because losing millions over a few thousand is making them look pretty stupid.

  • The writer's are striking for over two dozen issues, all of those issues having to do with pay increase. I don't know every detail, but I'm pretty sure that $2,000 has to do with one thing and it's on a per episode or webisode basis. Which means $2,000 everytime they write, not $2,000 per year. That adds up to a much higher number.

  • I want my freakin 18 episodes with a grande finale dammit. I'm wanting for this about 7 years and with hey gonna cut it to 12 and just release the ending on dvd I will stab everyone that has to do with this strike twice......a day for the rest of life

  • a dvd finale would be cool

  • I read that Bill Lawrence is determined to write an ending to his show. Supposedley, he stated that, if necessary, he will write a speical Finale Episode that will go straight to DVD. I did get this stuff from Wikipedia, so its sources can not be taken 100%, but that is what I have got. It si better than not knowing to my knowledge.

  • Scrubs, we need an ending. We all know what your going to do so just do it. Push J.D. And Elliot together. Its not a surprise any more, we just want to see it play out. And as far as Amptp goes, forget you guys and The WGA. I don't get it, what happened to the golden rule of business. The Customers are always right. are we not your curstomer. Finish our SHOWS!!!

  • If scrubs doesnt get an ending i am going to stab you with a spoon, lawrence :(

  • and i will help you!

i wanna see the ending of scrubs!!:)

  • moi oci baby!! but why did they go on strike in the first place??

  • ampetupuh! lol "tap that"!

  • I think I may cry. I want the end of Scrubs sooooooo bad! The show rules my life, and yes, I do know that's sad, but it's true. :(

I support the strike, but I don't support it's impact on the Scrubs writers (doesn't make sense, but oh well)! Aaaaaah! I need my Scrubs. The box sets aren't enough.

  • good video! I want a final episode of scrubs =(

    good luck with the strike!

  • Haha. You never fail to make me laugh! lol. I've missed you too! We all really want a final episode that will do justice to the great show that Scrubs is, but if it can't happen, I just hope we get to see your comic genius again! It will be a sad day when the world no longer has Zach Braff. So like... never die, okay?? =)

  • lol ampetupuh. i love zach. really i do.

  • omg i want an ending to scrubs

  • I support the strike :(

    I want scrubs back!!!

I Love Zach Braff In a Non Gay Way!!!

I Love Zach Braff In a Non Gay Way!!!

I Love Zach Braff In a Non Gay Way!!!

I Love Zach Braff In a Non Gay Way!!!

I Love Zach Braff In a Non Gay Way!!!

  • Go for it, Zach. Thanks for sharing this video with us and to be worried about other people's rights. They are workers as everybody else and deserve to have their rights respected...

  • Zach could write the last episodes, but that would be completely pointless because he's actually in support of the writers, hence the above clip. Why would he then undercut the writers and write the final himself. Duh....!

  • Zach Braff should write the last episodes of Scrubs.

  • From the point of view from a person who's a huge JD/Elliot shipper, I would love him to write because he wants them together too.

But Scrubs is practically Bill Lawrence's baby, and I want him to end it the way he has wanted to for almost eight years. I just want an ending, and Bill should be the one to write it.

It's not his show to write for. He can direct the final episode, but not write. He says so himself that he can never do what the Scrubs Writers do.

  • Dude, loved the video. I am in full support of the writers.

  • am-pa-ta-pa won't let us get together... heh

  • A.M.P.T.P. - Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. :)

  • ha Zach, I love you you're amazing. yes, please please I really hope they finish the last season of scrubs (wish it wasn't the last - that show is my favorite!)

  • I'm gonna be super mega pissed if they don't finish SCRUBS! What kinda BS would that be?

  • We need new Scrubs episodes STAT!

  • ooo cute vid! loved it!

    P.S.

Ur super cute! I love scrubs and i hope the writers strike ends soon! scrubs is my fav show!

  • Scrubs owns, its got to be the best out there now.

  • scrubs forever!!!

  • the writers are so rightt!!

but i just wish they'd put scrubs back on !!

  • That was great!

The production people need to step up and give the writers what they deserve!! Lets start working again!

I need to see the Scrubs finale...

  • I have a hard time feeling bad for someone who makes $73,000 a year. Oh...the poor writers. Let's feel bad for them when teachers are some of the lowest paid workers in the country.

  • I HAVE THE SOLUTION:

Let's go back to the old Black&Withe movies... -Charlie Chaplin didn't need lines--

...this way Writers can write books instead.

It will be good for humanity if people from US become aware that there are other people in the planet apart from them.

-We need to become more cultured... anyhow!

More books and less Hollywood entertainment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most actors are filthy rich anyway!

"Necessity is the mother of invention"

  • Zach,

How funny... I laughed, I cried and yes I want more. Zach, I miss you. I am so upset about the writers strike. It will be awful if Scrubs does not end with the conclusion that it so deserves.

    Your Faithful Friend,

    Jen

  • Very nice video, Zach!

It's a fair fight! I hope it ends well and writers get what they are asking for!

  • *love*

  • Loved your video--Zach. I really missing episodes of Scrubs...always kept me lmao and one of the best comedy sitcoms ever!! I hope the writers' strike will end soon, because I am getting tired of watching re-runs of other shows...you can only watch so many re-runs...ha..ha. LOVE YA GUYS!!!

  • I will miss Scrubs, but non the less I support you all the way!

  • nice work zach!! funny but impressive! we support you guys all the way...

  • Zach,

You are such a cutie, I love this video. Just know that we do support you all, the laughter and joy you all bring to us your fans, is sorely missed. You have our full support!!!

PS Please let us know if there is anything more we could do to show our help and support.

  • I love the idea behind all of these vids! I totally support the strike....even if it hurts to think of Scrubs not getting a proper ending....Damn AMPTP!DAMN THEM GOOD!

  • Rate, comment and make this toppage news! i want to see scrubs!!!

  • Zach, you are a major talent. I look forward to all of your future projects. I hope that you and all of the talented members find a peaceful solution to this conflict. Peace, Robert

  • i love him. so funny. damm money

  • I love Zach, and thats all Im going to say about that.

  • i love the tap that joke. but on the more serious matter, i support the WGA. but i suffer from depression and scrubs is the one show that makes me laugh. the possibility of never knowing the ending is like a nightmare. do you think the studios will get their act together?? 'cause the audiences don't want reality tv. i want my scrubs!

  • ah zack i dont think you understand i cannot live with out scrubs. give the writters there money

  • Alan, did you write all of these? I just recently found them I must say they certainly are brilliant. While I certainly want the strike to be resolved these are highly entertaining and deliver a very strong message. As a young person that one day aspires to be involved with show business it sickens me to see the way AMPTP has handled this whole situation.

And to the husband and wife in the service, thanks. Your work does not go unnoticed.

  • wow Zach. Very good.

  • Thanks, Zach, for helping the cause! That "V" key did look pretty sexy.

  • Dude you can act!!!!!!yeah and what the emilyroseshow said prior

  • Brava!

  • journey all the way my friend...i love ya zach!! you is the shiz! no wat i'm sayin son! Know Wat I'm SAyin!

  • I think there should be a contest open to everyone to find someone to write the finale. It is not fair.

What happened to creativity in this country? What happened to true passion. Has it all come down to money?

I get only a tad bit more than min wage for my work with children with autism. I work hard and long, sometimes more hours than I can be legally paid for but, I do it because I have a drive and a passion for it. Helping children and the arts are what I live for.

  • I couldn't agree more. I have a passion for helping others as well so I put my life on the line on a regular basis and get paid crap for it, but it's something I am passionate about. I wanted to be a script writer, but I have to admit the strike has turned me off.

  • You can't compare this to your job. It's totally different. Let's say your boss was making 1 billion dollars and you were only getting $80,000 of it. That's what the difference is. It has nothing to do with saving lives but everything to do with the difference in pay. These networks are making a ton of money off of somebody else's ideas and the people making the ideas should be getting a bigger slice of the pie. That's what this is about.

  • Who are you to decide that? The simple truth is the networks are the boss they decide who gets paid what. I agree that the writers deserve more money, however I don't agree that what they are asking for is worth striking over.

  • Decide what? That you can't compare your job with a TV writing job? It's not a decision of any kind, I'm merely stating that the business of "show" and unions is not the same as the business of being a doctor or a policeman or what ever it is that you do where you save lives. And they DID try to negotiate without striking, the Networks turned them down-Flatly.

  • Who are we to decide that? Fair question. We are the content creators, and we are not replaceable by robots, outsourced workers, or the executives themselves. The issues we're striking over will determine the course of our industry for the next 40 years, and whether or not writers will be able to survive and do our jobs. Which part of that is not worth striking over?

  • Just because you want to work for pennies and passion doesn't mean the rest of the world does. Nor should you or anyone work passionately for nothing. You can love your job and get paid for it. That's business. That's what "Job" means- you get paid for it. You get respected. The Billionaire networks don't work for free. This isn't "Rent", this is life. Although, I'm sure you won't get that reference.

  • yeah something needs to happen so the final shows are writin. and we need to know what the hell the janitors name is

  • Oh god. I think I may cry if there is never an ending to Scrubs. :(

  • *tear* Zach you rock!

  • I got you something...not that you should of got me anything. It's paper 3 hole punch I know how you like it... I'm not gonna say I'd love to tap that, but I'd love to tap that.. Alright that was freaking hilarious

  • "I'd love to tap that."

    Awesome video. I love ZB!

  • awesome.... this needs to be over! too many people are out of work right now - to many mouths to feed...

    :(

  • this is great! as if Zach Braff souldn't just write it himself! =)

  • marry me zach

  • Must...find...out...Janitor's...name! When is this strike going to end? Maybe the fans of Scrubs could write the final episodes - some shows have an open manuscript policy.

I've always wondered how much writers get paid. I bet they get paid WAY more than active duty military members.

Obviously I have a love/hate relationship with this strike. I'm a former Marine married to an active duty Marine who has been in for 18 years and makes squat.

I hope this strike isn't just a greed thing.

  • I had a scriptwriter come into a Mass Comm class last year, and she told us that it's basically a per script basis. I think she said it's a low 5 figure per script, but if you're head writer it's 6 figure.

Well, I mean, the main issue was the use of their material for internet content. The main thing is, would you like it if you had to do extra work without getting paid for it?

  • Of course no one wants to work for free (especially creative types), but when you put it that way, considering men and women in Iraq work 18+ hour days, 7 days a week at an average of $22,000 a year, that equals to about $3.00 an hour. $2.51 if you count the full 24 hours of putting up with mortar attacks at the very least.

It's all relative I guess. Thanks for the info. :)

  • It's not even close to extra work. When your show gets put on the internet you don't write an entirely different script.

I love and respect writers but at the end of they day we have to get serious. I risk my life at my job and don't get paid anything near what a writer makes for pushing buttons on a keyboard.

  • It IS extra work when you have to write mini episodes to be produced for the web that ARE the show. I know they did it with The Office and Battlestar Galactica. Also, when your show gets distributed on the internet through legal means, the writers aren't getting any royalties from that, like they do if it's a DVD sale. The writers are getting screwed over here, and it's in their interest the WGA looks out for.

  • Again you can't compare apples to oranges. It sucks that you aren't getting millions of dollars for saving lives, but the writers are comparing their paycheck to the Networks income- not yours.

  • Doesn't matter who they compare to ultimately the networks make that decision they have every right to take or give as much as they want as long as it is with in legal reason.

  • No they don't. That's why there's a Union. Just because a job if fun doesn't mean you shouldn't be getting paid what you think you're worth.

  • Right. And we have every legal right to ask for what we're worth and make a living. We have every legal right to create our own content, our own distribution. And the networks have every legal right to no longer offer original programming to their viewers, to watch their stocks plummet, and to eventually marginalize themselves in a world of new media. Sound like a smart way to go?

  • The average working guild member makes 65k a year - that's WHEN we're working. Writers can have a few good years, then not work for the next year or more. It's a complex issue, but I assure you that greed IS NOT the issue, at least on the WGA side of the argument. Basically, without the residual pay and fair treatment for our work on the internet, none of us will be around to write the shows you view.

    - Alan (Speechless)

  • BTW, I worked on JAG for three years in production before I began selling feature scripts. I enjoy a healthy respect for those of you serving our country. Thank you for that service.

    - Alan (Speechless)

  • Thanks for your input Alan, I had no idea writers made so little. In NY alone, rent is through the roof so it's hard to imagine anyone living there on that kind of salary. 65k isn't bad for other areas, but NY or LA? Ouch.

Thank you for your kind comment about our service. (^_^)/ I was already out before 9-11, but my husband recently returned from Iraq, so your words mean a lot. Have a great night!

  • Ya, that's an average over the next five years, IIRC. As for your and your husband's service, I am humbled and glad he made it back safely. You have a great night as well.

    - Alan

  • 65k is more than easy to survive on in LA.

  • Yeah, but what if a writer has a bad year and can't sell a script? Or doesn't get on a sitcom/drama that is steady work? Think they could stretch that 65K to two years, or even three or more?

  • dude y dont these ppl go back to work! theres ppl that prob. need the money more then them! ppl watch these shows expecting to see everything. not half assed! go back to work and shut the fuck up! the economy sucks now and hopfully oneday it will be fixed!

  • why can't the writers just get paid more

  • rofl love the video

  • We miss Scrubs to be sure... but I sympathize with the writers' strike. They deserve so much more...

  • Powerful.

  • Ok, I was fine with the strike until I learned it might mean not getting a conclusion to Scrubs!! WTF? That would be such a shame! That series is too amazing to just fizzle out and not end with the dignity it deserves.

And P.S. Zach Braff is so hot! "I'de love to tap that."

  • For some reason I can only view the first 31 seconds of this video...? Anyone else having problems?

  • i agree i dont want to sound mean or callous but i need my scrubs :(

  • Zach Braff, you are, and always will be, my hero.

    Bravo, sir.

  • Hahahaha one of the best. Love it! Good statement too.

  • U rock Mr. Braff! LMAO!

  • fantastic as always - never expect less from you.

the way you said "you look really pretty" made my knees weak. then i realized you were talking to your typewriter.

i had to eat 2 snickers bars to get past the sadness.

i love you zb. write in secret and dont tell anyone. for me.

  • too funny :)

  • kudos!

  • Your creativity never ceases to amaze me! Bravo!

  • Best one so far.. very great!

  • tahaaaaa thats too funny, you're awesome.

    <333

  • Brilliant! =D

  • Damn Funny!!

  • That was absolutely phantastic! My favourite part was the "tap that" comment. So very appropriate.

In all seriousness though, I really do hope the writers get what they're asking for. I'm all in support of them!

    ~Cat

  • Zach, if I wasn't so totally a lesbian...

    Awesome work. As always :)

  • Dear God you look like John Ritter, God rest his soul :)

  • ya know...i think that the writers need to think more about us fans than of themselves. they still make enough money to live comfortably on...so why do they absolutely need more? there's only a few episodes left...can they not just swallow their pride for like 5 or 6 more weeks?!?!? c'mon guys....think of the fans... :(

  • But think of how much the shows (and the fans) would suffer if the writers weren't happy. It's unfair and unjust that the producers and executives make millions off the writers work, and then literally give the writers pennies. Yeah, those pennies add up, but that doesn't make it fair.

  • and then you also have to think...the writers signed up for the job...it was their choice to hop on the wagon...

  • haha i love zach, i would marry him in a second even though he's almost double my age. i didn't get the last line though, as in hear what he said? anyone know? i went back like ten times ha

  • He says, "Still hike Runyon?" This is a reference to Runyon Canyon, a popular hiking spot for Angelinos, and a nice place for couples to spend some time outdoors together.

    - Alan (Speechless)

  • haha! tre cute

  • Brilliant as usual! The best one out there! I hope this is over soon! I need my Scrubs!!!!!!!!!

  • omg haha

    <3

  • Very very funny.

    I'm pulling for you guys.

  • i love me some ZB.

the writers strike needs to end already and the writers need to stop effin whining.

i have so much more respect for john stewart and stephen colbert for going on w/o writers. who needs 'em.

  • they're wage is so unfair compared to the other professions involved in the process and i would say these writers are pretty much the core of it, i want it to be over but i support them and i think they should only stop when they're wage is sorted to the appropriate amount

  • Punkandbarbies, Stewart and Colbert went back on because they don't own their shows. They were forced back. They are also sympathetic toward the writers in this strike which is quite evident when you watch these shows.

  • hahaha that was funny

  • "I would love to tap that..."

Haha, that's great! Gogo Zach Braff powers!

  • Zach I love you.

I love Scrubs, i'm obsessed, and i don't know what i would do if i never go to find out the Janitor's name or just to see what happens in the end.

  • also zach braff is the man and without writers zach has stated scrubs is over!

  • Zach Braff is a writer.

    Ever see Garden state?

  • to respond they get paid 4 cents and the want 8 cents now. sorry your so close minded that you can't think outside the box. further more every company uses the people below them to come up with ideas and make them money and no one ever feels that they are compensated enough for what they do. that's life deal!

  • First, "your" should be "you're". Something you learn in grade school.

Second, they deserve more than those 8 cents. Those actors would have nothing to present if the writers weren't there. Nor would the company have anything to sell.

  • All that I am saying is the networks will go on. Nothing will stop them from producing stuff that goes onto TV, the writers will be out of work, actors will be out of work, and networks will just start putting on reality TV and making money off of that because it cost very little to produce that. So writers and actors will be out of work, but the studios/networks continue making money. Great strike bravo!

  • All right, I can agree with that. Yes, the networks will make money off of game shows and late night shows (mostly because Conan is amazing even without writers).

Still, the writers make some of the more amazing shows that take talent and thought to produce. Opening cases doesn't take writers. People won't care about Howie and his infamous "We'll find out after this break" in a year or so if we don't get some new intelligent writing back on the air.

  • So WiinDover, you think the WGA should just...BenDover?

  • lmao i got you some paper. i know how much you love it 3 holes lol zach braff is fucking hilarious end this shit already so we can get some more scrubs

  • writers strike lol
