@Horhayj I currently run the XTC into the LynchBox with JJ E34L's (not EL34's, there is a huge difference) and it's my dream tone. I prefer the XTC over the Ultra and Ultra XL because it has a more clear high-mid register and is slightly less saturated. If you have the RM100, I highly recommend switching the tubes out for JJ E34L's. Clarity and tightness is key in high-gain metal tones.
hey man how do you have your rocktron hush super c setup? and what are your knobs at for it I have mine at 12 oclock. but I still have a his I run mine in the front could I somehow run it through the front and back.
Hey man.. Love the vid. Can you tell me about your rocktron silencer unit. Its flaws, and so forth. Im looking to get one for my Randall RG-100Classic (GREAT tone from this amp btw)
hey man, really liked the video but ive been checking 1 of these amps out for a while now but i like el-34 kinda sound and i was wondering if u could tell a big difference in sound when you changed from 6l6 to el-34
@saintslayerxdan the ultra xl module was based off the krank heads so it's probly the best shot since as i lay dying uses krank heads. the treadplate module was based off the mesa dual rect. so either way you're getting a metal sound. but the ultra xl will probly be closer.
love the sound man. like a as i lay dying type sound. awesome. i recently just got a rm100. but it has an ulta instead of an ultra xl. i'm putting in an ultra xl hopefully soon. are EL34's better for the heavy metal sound? i was thinking about either those or the 6550's.
Ultra XL vs XTC? Any thoughts?

@redrooster527 To be honest, it did make a difference. It certainly gave the sound more edge and bite, perfect for a very clear-cutting sound.

Either sounds great, they both should be biased at the same level. You really need a noise gate with the ultra xl as it's very high gain.

@saintslayerxdan They recorded AN Ocean Between Us with this amp so you'll probably get a pretty similar tone to that album.

I bias them at around 40-45 mv. Any higher and they have a higher tendency to blow.

What did you bias your tubes at? I changed my 6L6's to EL34's and have had nothing but problems with them.
