I agree with you: Dimmu Borgir is the modern metal (and frankly, rotten) I love your choice of "The Call of the Wintermoon" to immortal, to Darkthrone "Transilvanian Hunger" would have been ideal, but "a blaze in the northern sky is great too." But his back is in your brain: Children of Bodom is not a black metal band at all

Shamaatae used to have translations on the arckanum.se website. If you can find the printed lyrics, simply translate to Icelandic and you'll receive a rough translation of most of the lyrical content. Most of it has to do with chaos worship.

@ZykDaDyk Gava Fran Trulen is terrible. I'm sorry, but it just is. It's a guy walking around with a scythe in a cult robe with a Halloween mask on. Also, the vocals on it were terrible. See, don't get me wrong, I don't want to disrespect the band, they have improved, they can make great music. The thing is, though, if you tell me that you didn't laugh your ass off when seeing Gava Fran Trulen, you're lying.

Wow, I have to admit when I saw the video for Gava Fran Trulen I was not at all impressed. The music was lackluster, the "vocals" almost completely arbitrary and the video... well, lets just say I was pleasantly surprised to hear this. Major improvement.

Look, I can tolerate raw black metal, shitcore, lo-fi, noise punk and harsh noise; in fact, I love those genres. But what I'm not a big fan of is the "Screeching guy in a troll costume playing over S.O.D. knockoff metal" genre. That to me was the Gava Fran Trulen video, and listening to other stuff of that era it just didn't float my boat.

I think ÞÞÞÞÞÞÞÞÞÞÞ is one of the best black metal albums realesed in the past few years. Just a perfect album. In the same time we have brutality, melody, atmosphere, old school riffs.
