  • why is the title called impossible when he can do it

  • I can understand why they'd put an ad for safe sex before watching this video.

  • you don't have to play fast .you can be the best guitarist.

  • It got boring after 0:00. :P

  • lol....it sucks....really....i love guitars and music but this solo it lame..

  • @rastamaniakTHC How was it lame? Not many could do this. You've got to have a great ear and knowledge for that kind of solo, because if you play one wrong note, everything gets ruined. Mastering those delays in such a perfect way is very hard.

  • This is the best solo in the world. It is not impossible but it is genius. Brian may is the best guitarist in the world and that is not up for debating.

  • wat the f@#*% is wrong wit de 12 people dat disliked dis

  • Arquimedes had sayed: Gimme a leaver and I leave the World...and I Say: give a guitar to Brian May and you see magic music form God

  • Well, the two delays are definitely not 2-3 second delays, they are about 800-900 ms, equally spaced. You can easily find the comfortable speed that fits you the most. First you hear the real time tone, than the first and the second delay, and sometimes they are in perfect harmonies with each other. It is very simple. At least in theory :) You can find pretty good delays for this in the Digitech BM pedal, get one and try it!

  • What i always loved about brian may is that he rarely stays on the typical blues scales everyone uses. That along with his guitar set him apart from other guitarists in that he gave you many languages in a single guitar solo. Variety that always keeps you interested. And that tone....

  • was this right before the concert started?

  • @TheLordHodne nah dude I believe is between "a kind of magic" and "now I'm here" in the concert.

  • It was during the concert, After Who wants to live forever, I think. They had to give Freddie a break!! He'd already sung songs like: A kind of Magic, One vison, Under pressure..too much for one man! most singers would go voiceless after In the lap of the gods...After this they played Now I'm here

  • To all lameasses that talk about the title: We know everything is possible. But it's just a way to speak. It's possible to count the stars, count every hair on your head, memorize all the words in a dictionary, but it's impossible at the same time meaning it's just too hard to even try. Enjoy the music suckers! May Guitar God

  • not is imposiblee el lo hace x'D

  • really no solo is impossible if u have the skill its just memerizing it is the hard part

  • Hard to believe he and his dad made that guitar (nicknamed "The Fireplace") out of stuff they found around their house. Amazing, and true.

  • Brian May is very good, but the solo is not impossible.

  • @imhere64 its a pentatonic scale, most of it. pretty basic.

  • I know what alot of guitar players are thinking here :) THAT TONE!!! oh yeah

  • @bijeleudovice2 lol the opening even states "impossible is nothing" followed by "impossible solo":P

  • @bijeleudovice2 yes i get that:P but its possible right? not impossible as the title said. i never questioned brian mays ability to play guitar. but i just think that its possible to play like this

  • @imhere64 how can it be called impossible when there is thousands of witnesses AND a video of him doing it?:P i suggest you change the title to something like" not impossible solo, but still very hard to perform"

  • Is the best.

  • He's awsome!!

  • john pertucci would make him run away screaming if he played a solo for him

  • For me an impossible solo, is in "Resurrection" by Brian May

  • It is clearly not an impossible solo if that dude playing it could do it.

  • brain may is like jimmy page mix egde from u2

  • I wouldn't say it's impossible. But it takes a lot of planning and knowledge about harmonies before playing such a solo. One mistake and you will ruin the next chord. In that way it's really imressing, and mr. May has always been the king of playing these things with delay. He's one of those guitarists you recognise immediatly when you hear him. Only one word. RESPECT!

  • @jonsnow90 you would never be able to do that

  • I picked up a guitar because of Brian! ive even watched him play live :) that tone he has is something! couldn't care about Steve Vai! whos just a cloner! if you like speed? Van halen had already been there and done it

  • I Began to play the guitar many years ago due to Brian. I realized his playing was very different and that it would not be easy to play in a nice fashion a Queen song. There were many beautiful arrangements, lots of guitar layers as we see in Killer Queen or Keep Yourself Alive. A genius, original, one of my top ten guitar players. Later, Joe Satriani was my 'teacher'. My fav. number one is Steve Vai.

  • Funny the keyboard solo at the end:)

He did get a prize for that 2!!

  • the best of the best

  • tocate ese solo po arjentino de mierda a ver si lo sacas ya q no es "nada especial"

    Brian es un Dios!!!

    Brian may is the God!!!

  • @perolpm , I strongly disagree with you, but I respect your opinion and your right of expressing that. I think we do not see only chords played the way you mean. It's very hard to get that sound too, even though it's not so difficult to play it in the guitar. The arrangements are really original and differ from the old Brighton Rock versions. I think no guitar man in the 80's played the way B.May played. We see Satch, Vai, but it's different. Thanks.

  • lol i am fat too yay brian may is so amazing like uve got kirk hammet and paul gilbert ect all they can do is shred that shows nothing he makes it sound so amzing even though its just a couple of chords and some scales

  • Comment removed

  • atleast he isnt fat like you

  • why dont you put your balls where your mouth is and upload some of yourself playing . oh thats right, your just a listener not a player

  • I play very well thank you very much, no way near Brian, but certainly better then your shitty attempt sausage fingers. Id also make a remark at your balls but being as your getting on for 40 there probably shriveled up and lacking testosterone right about now you fat fuck, thats why you have man tits you ugly piece of shit..

  • spoken like a true dreamer who doesnt have the nuts to put up anything on youtube to see just how crap at music he really is. coward wannabe musician who jerks off to his own glory but has nothing to show for it. lol

  • you gotta understand kanoaka's problem, he'd also like to have a little of brian's success :P

  • What's your problem??? Seek help!!

  • fuck you!

anyway. Brian may is awsome! he should be known more!

  • this was the 80's dumbass. Everyone looked stupid.

  • better watch wat u say u dnt kno if theyll come to kick ur ass

  • I bet in about 10-15 years we think the same about the clothing during the last decade, just like every decade so far :P

  • Meh- The clothes most kids wear nowadays are pretty normal if you ask me. I guess you could look at hipster clothing, but that's not most kids. I mean- the 80's had glittering jumpsuits and ass-bad hair- the 90's had ripped jeans and flannel, and the 00's had... what? Increasingly slutty clothes for girls?

I see a positive trend if you ask me :D

  • Well that's true for the most part, but not everybody wore those clothes, it's like saying everybody wore disco-clothes in the 70's :D. You could compare those "extremely horrid" clothes with "our" (2000's) 100 meter long rapper clothes (no not those usual clothes, those that are ridiculously long), that stupid cap they have, emo clothes and metro sexual clothing and such. But yes, You do have a good point there and I agree for the most part.

PS: flannel is always IN :)

  • Oh my God I love this!

  • Jeff Beck envied him for his solo's.

Brian is the king of melodic rock guitar

  • brian may is the wizard of effects. awesome.

  • how he is also playing back guitar while main is incredible

  • if you really know what he is doing here youd appreciate it the harmonizing here is amazing with 2 half second delays while not impossible id lean to say way less than 1 percent of decent guitar players could actually pull this off in the way he did it

  • well said

  • replicate this is not that hard if you try and try (of course is not even easy).. but replicate is a thing.. to ideate and compose a solo like this is another thing, is pure magnificence

  • I've been trying to replicate this for months now, It's near impossible once you pick up the guitar and start trying to get it down

  • Comment removed

  • i can guarantee you Gilbert respects Brian May, just as all sane guitarists do. have you ever heard of musical emotion? obviously not. i like gilbert, Satch, Vai, and all the rest of the shredders, but i do prefer to slow down sometimes and actually comprehend what i am listening to. you are right though, this solo is not impossible, but it is difficult to replicate if your name isn't Brian May.

  • You are right. I wasn't really totally serious. I juast thought the guy looked funny. Sorry. But You can be the judge as to whether I have musical emotion or not. Search Charlie Newell and go about 5 or 6 vids down to shredding tears or just go to my uploaded videos. You be the judge. and again I didn't mean to offend.

  • hey no worries. that vid of yours is good stuff, i like it. just make sure to do some research before poking fun at people, as YouTubers can be especially savage.

    :- )

  • simple things are brilliant :) same with this solo

  • Its an amazing delay arrangement man

  • May the best in the world...

  • The fact that he is playing along with his own delay to such accuracy is pretty remarkable to me. it quite hard to do withouth mashing your sound up!

  • when does it get interesting...i can play that..i was hoping 4 something SICK gotta admit i was a little disapointed no offence or anything

  • wen dose it get ... good ?? honestly i was expecting something crazy not something easy

  • AND its 1986, so you know people were expecting something way heavy. it sounds like he's practicing.

  • as long as phil keaggy is in there its all good

  • brian may is the greatest

  • HE IS NOT A KING !

    HE IS GOD!

  • i think this is one of the best solos of all.

brian may is one of the best guitarists of all time :)

  • brian may is the reason i started playing guitar... :O

  • a master with the delay pedal to harmonise with himself

  • This doesn't much seem like a solo, just a collage of riffs he knows. Everything I heard in this solo seemed quite playable to most intermediate players.

  • He plays it all by himself, therefore it's a solo.

  • Only A real man would play the guitar in that form and that man is Brian May.

  • There is only one name for brian may other than his own- it's called: God.

  • No, it's Harold

  • have u tried it with the 2 half second delays.. then you'll find you cannot play it folks. Brian is the king of the delay guitar.. and harmonies.

  • absolutly right

  • King my ass...God more like it :D

  • It's Brian May not God

    Derr!

  • To be honest, I don't play guitar and this is very impossible, only a prefessional can do this

  • Well he's really good, a legend, but it is possible if you practice enough....

  • well yes and no if u r good at guitar and lern this but bri is the best at it i seen sum goo tribute brian mas mind and thay ar mind blowing 2

  • absolutly right

  • my name is bryton lol

  • Common...

It's not impossible. I think I could play it. Is a good solo, but impossible. I had seen better solos made by jimmy page, santana, clapton, van hale, etc.

  • Don't forget Kirk Hammet and Steve Vai

  • kirk hammet cant compare to steve vai and brian may

  • Kirk Hammet is an amazing player but his skills aren't seen often. Steve Vai has a same style/technique for practically every single song. Brian May is just...Brian May

  • Dis is brilliant, and you will never guess what, I can play it too!
