You know what's funny? This is by far some of the best music on the SNES (and this video is low-quality!), and yet this is one of the 1st games released for the SNES.
The driest of dry spells. The mission begins here. Bacterians have made their marks and beasts lurk under the sand, hungry for a meal. But they are not the biggest concern. There is something bigger. Stronger. Much more grotesque. Shoot it in the eye!
Fun Fact: the ship that you pilot in Gradius 3 is NOT the Vic Viper, from the original Gradius 3 Instruction Booklet: "The people of Gradius see you as their last hope for peace and harmony. They've tapped into the entire Federation Reserves to build your 100 zillion dollar starship, christened M.A.X., which stands for Modulated Artillery Exalter."
obviously, that isn't the Vic Viper.
Another thing is that the Vic Viper never had access to super boosts throughout previous Gradius Games.
Actually, if you watch the intro in the game, the ship is the Vic Viper, though its actual physical body and chassis may not be exactly the same as the first one. I'm willing to bet some translation liberties and creative writing was taken when the manual was made. But despite that, the ship you pilot is the good ol' Vic Viper. :)
@Ghostpilot1983 I already did, since I am getting a bit good at shmupping. SNES G3 Stage 10 is a beast to me, but I finally made it to the first loop. I did beat NES G 1 and 2 as well.
Sounds epic like Dragonforce or something

The level that speeds up and keeps speeding up while you are in a tunnel trying to maneuver is ridiculous

That's awesome. Try Axelay and UN Squadron if you haven't. Super R Type hasn't aged too well I think but that one's good too.

@morocotopozz it pretty much is metal (drums, lead and bass are pretty heavy), just in electronic form...

i just imagined this with real intruments, guitar with mids and treble, and the bass doing the bass line ( of course) and real drums etc....
kinda got an iron maiden vibe
