Palin is qualified for the job. She can lead this country on day one if McCain cannot. She has almost two years of gov. experience and a BA in Journalism from Idaho. She is a hockey mom and pro-life. She is also a hunter and an NRA member. So what about the polar bears. They are in the way of oil pipelines. I know women will flock to her and McCain will get a large boost from woman voters. Plus she supported Pat Buccannan for president at one time. She is well qualified.

She's been Governor of a state that has the fourth smallest population for less than 2 years. Down syndrome is caused by an extra copy of genetic material on the 21st chromosome and has absolutely NOTHING to do with what the mother does during pregnancy, other than the fact that the chances of having a child with down syndrome greatly increase with the mother's age. umm, ask the Inupiat, Yupik, Aleut, Tlingit, Haida, Tsimshian, Eyak, and Northern Athabaskan about cultural diversity in Alaska. Granted they are 15.6% of the population, but the highest native population of any state.
