Greeting from Bulgaria. This is a perfect performance of the song.Every word was pronounced very clearly.Kudos for singing something in a language you probably don't understand.
Yes, it's lovely, and moving. And you can hear when they move up the pitch, on a few occasions - it's interesting to hear how that develops, almost quite naturally... Almost meant! Congratulations.
The texture is absolutely gorgeous! My one complaint is that the pitch creeped up almost an entire minor third by the end of the piece. However, this is still really impressive for a children's choir!
Good job) It's a hard work, I know! Come to Bulgaria and listen authentic) And many more unique bulgarian folklore song, I'll meet you with one of the best bulgarian folklorists. If you are interested, pls send me email. You will be welcome!
@zarni000 They have the benefit of speaking a language with a very simple vowel system like Bulgarian and unaspirated t's, k's and p's. It's a lot harder for English speakers since our pronunciation is way more complicated.
That may be the case but they get not just the accent right they get the pronunciation right as well. Just an example they pronounce Todora as "Tudora". That is only possible if they listened to native speakers or singers. Kudos to them.
I'm sure any woman from a Bulgarian choir would be proud of these children. They beautifully capture the crescendo and diminuendo that makes this song beautiful. You know it's a wonderful thing when after the final moments of a song, the audience is silent.
