  • the video was breathtaking but the song played does not sound bhutanese but more like tibetan.

  • Cool vid! I'll take a number 12.

  • OOh my God how beautiful my country Bhutan, more beautiful then heaven, thanks for putting this video ,even i got chance to feel about my country Bhutan,i don't remember anything about Bhutan, today i know that how lovely it is. my only 1 aim 2 visit my birth place/country Bhutan either i m in us.i miss my country 2 much love u all Bhutanese guys who live Bhutan n all over the world. now i m in america me ganesh chuwan from bhutan

  • Nice i like

  • Wonderful nation...i hope i go there in the future

  • Woow..

  • @2flyndive, thanks for this great video! Yes, I agree the beauty and the isolation of my country is in your capture.

However, the dark part of my country, our 4th King ( JSW ), and some of his directorial circle need to come forward. The voice of forgotten people from south shout be introduced.

Though I am from east and have great love over my nation, I know our (government) always hide some of the important issues of our nation about refugee.

Once again thanks for your great capture.

  • Amazing

  • very nice covegare

  • Amazing, stunning.

  • Thank you so much for sharing this with us.

  • Yes it Beautiful, but not as happiest as mentioned. Go and search Google, you will find out the crap act of our bullshit king JSW who made 1/6 th population of our people refugee.

I feel shame on this. To be honest we Sharshop are not involved in this cruel act of ethnic cleansing enforced by this ruling Nalung dynasty King JSW.

  • @TheSangay28 Aren't they generally agreed to be ethnic Nepalese? Lots of them were never even Bhutanese citizens to begin with. Nepal and Bhutan have been talking about it for awhile, since a lot of the people fled Nepal across the border due to the Maoist movements and oppression THERE. Those who were actually able to prove their citizenship were repatriated.

  • heel mooi land ik ben daar ook geweest maar in het jaar 1987.dan was Bhutan nog nit zoo bekend

  • I wish I could speak their language and move there to spend the rest of my life as a simple farmer knowing nothing about sh*t behind borders.

  • @Mr4sonam That is because Nepal couldn't control their people from migrating and dumped its people into bhutan. what do you think any country would do if there are millions and millions of people being dumped and ignored by its own govt. that is Nepali govt. I believe Bhutan did what they could. and for your information, minorities rights and values aren't suppressed like you implied. Bhutan is not China!

  • @GenerationTibet2009, it is not wise to blame on Nepal and Tibet now. It is our mistake, to let thez Nalungs to be in our country. If they are not here, we do not need to be the country of refugee.

I always discourage illegal immigrants, but it is not ethical and politically wise to make our own people refugee.

My friend rights of minorities are suppressed.Just an example today also our children are obliged to wear the clothes and dresses on government interest not on their own wills.

  • @TheSangay28 I miss my country ,life was so distressful being 18 yrs of refugee life in Nepal. Now i m in USA with whole families.

  • @TheSangay28 Im impressed by what u say :) i completely agrree...and in my opinon this could have all been averted if tolerance existed and now there are thousands of bhutanese living in nepal kicked out of there home land....but i donot beleive tht if ur monarchy left the nation wud be better im saying this after seeing what happend and is still happening in my nation Nepal...the king should be respected but he shouldnt gain complete power...and also he shouldnt be dethroned. Tolerance is must

  • whats the song called

  • I feel like moving there :) So beautiful nature AND people.

  • Beautiful place, honorable culture. So, why did you not use Bhutanese music for your soundtrack??

  • How does the tariff work? You have to pay $200 to get through the border?

  • @2flyndive Mate,Come to Nepal once and see the condition of Bhutanese refugee in Nepal...Thank us for giving them shelter and food instead of kicking out them from the country.

  • looks beautiful, very peaceful and friendly just what i am looking for for my solo trip

  • Man, I wish India would take some urban planning notes from Bhutan.

  • i want to see the shang ri la... the setting of the uncharted 2!!

  • bhutan iz the muthaf**kin peaceful country........

  • wow....one word for this video....."AWESOME"

  • Very beautiful country. I really want to visit there.

  • what ever ur writing is wrong and our King never force us into doing anything. happy or not go and stay there urself for few month to find out. u can count how many crying and how many happy. judge what u sees not what u hear. to ans to wrong to say happy. every country have their ups and down . visiting for week or two can't judge.

  • it shows mt everest at the beginning, though it is not mentioned anywhere in video, i wants to make clear that mt everest does not lie in Bhutan

  • @rongon28us We passed Mt. Everest ON THE WAY to Bhutan, on an airplane as the video shows.

  • Naturally and spiritually one of the beautiful country in the world. However, culture, language, values, and religion are all imposed and dominated by king (Drukpa dynasty ) . Voice of minority always remain suppressed. Thousands of Bhutanese are in refugee camp in Nepal for more than 17 years. Just type Bhutanese refugee in Google search engine.

Wrong to say Happiest folks on earth!

  • Black Ops

  • We Nepalese should really learn from Bhutan. We should stick to our thousands of years old cultures n traditions, Cultural influence from other countries have endangered our own. Honestly speaking, right now we almost have identity crisis cuz we have been so influenced by the Indian culture in past 100 years that foreigners thinks Nepal is a part of India and i don't blame them for that. It's all our fault. Even i sometimes get confused.

  • I am just back from Bhuthan - a Fairy tail land. Let's hope they preserve their unique culture from globalization. Your video is great!

  • ..wonderful video...congratulations! *****

  • no there are no zombies u morons, call of poopy made it look like a curse was set and it was released. the real shangri la is a peacful place, i dare say more peaceful than this place. i will visit this place and bring peace to my past and flow the demons out of my mind. going on my bucket list.

  • this song make me peaceful and remind me of yunnan sichuan gao yuan. i will go to tibet and Bhutan too 1day. i really love these places.

  • What a wonderful country id like to visit some day in my life.. great video too 5 stars, if u can tell me the name of the song is really relaxing.. bless bros

    Hi from Venezuela :)

  • It looks nice in the day but at night, the zombies come out...

  • @ThatGuy1208 I like your comment :))

  • ARE THERE ZOMBIES 0_O

  • THUMBS UP FOR CALL OF DUTY! from call of the dead...oh and the place is beautiful

  • thanks for sharing this beautiful country. n also beautiful chant

  • wow i am looking to go there either this year or the next!! truly amazing, tourism money aside, how else can we help while we go there?

  • This is awesome :)

  • DAT COUNTRY IS SO UNTOUCHED AND THE PEAOPLE SO PEACEFUL DAT BHUTAN DID NOT EVEN HAVE ONE SINGLE POLICE STATION TILL 1994... IT IS ONLY AFTER THEY OPEND THEIR DOORS TO OTHER COUNTRIES AND HAD IMMIGRANT NEPALIESE PPL COMING THER DAT THEY STARTED HAVING CRIME IN THE COUNTRY.. ITS INSANE. OHERWISE THER WAS JUST NO CRIME IN DAT PLACE ..

  • Bhutan truly is the happiest place on Earth :)

  • This song is the second cut on a CD called "Chants of Tibet: The Meditative Sound of Buddhist Chants" by Tibetan Incantations. Its title is "Mantra of Avalokiteshvara," which, according to a reviewer on Amazon.com, translates to "The Short Great Compassionate Heart Dharani."

  • WHat is this music called or the song please really want to download it

  • Bhutan offers, what other doesn't have at all. It's virtually a unique destination and is priceless. If you are seeking for a shopping paradise or lots of nightlife, Bhutan is not a destination to come. But in the 21st century world, if you are looking for a destination where you can experience blending of past & present, people & nature unspoiled rich aged old traditions and culture, well Bhutan is a place to be. - Discovery Bhutan, Inc.

  • i am a bhutanese :)

  • Its is the Last Shangri-la a place of true beauty and happy free people we should follow there example....

  • This was the place in Uncharted 2 right? Is it true that the lost city of Shangri-la would be located in this area?

  • Beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

  • man, i wanna go there so bad! beautiful country and beautifl music! i didnt know about that waterfall. are you allowed to go inside the monastary?

  • We went with Backroads and would recommend it highly!

  • To uwmbigb- In Bhutan, Mahayana Buddhism is the official religion, therefore most people practice Buddhism. I think Buddhist also go to Dharamshala, a city in northern India, since it is the home of the Dalai Lama and the exiled Tibetan government.

  • @2flyndive by Dharamshala I think i been there.. U mean its before Maclore Ganj..M i right if u know?

  • They are prayer wheels that are always turned clockwise when reciting mantras and prayers.

  • what is the pupose of those long cyndrical things that spin around? like in the movie the golden child,...i want the knife, then eddie spins it.

  • Fantastic!!!!

Bhutan, the heavenly place .. you can touch.

  • We used Geographic Expeditions and it was the 'Three Himalayan Kingdoms' trip. It was a flawless tour in all areas. Excellent company on the high end scale. We did not want any "issues" on our journey in that part of the world, and we didn't. I know you will have a super adventure. Life is good but short...enjoy!

  • Hi, really well done for the great video and the music selection, really enjoyed it after a days work. By any chance can you tell me which travel agency did you choose for this trip, cause i just got some information from a travel agency called ACE THE HIMALAYA, they look very professional, and i was wondering if it 's the same one that you chose since they have a trip like your's that includes Nepal,Bhutan and Tibet. Your help would be highly appreciated. Many thanks.

    Mat.

  • Nice movie. Tx for sharing

  • Politically, Bhutan has one of the most stable governments in the world. Therefore, its probably one of the safest places to visit. Price wise, plan on spending plenty. Bhutan is looking for the high end tourists. Its a beautiful place to visit. We loved it.

  • @2flyndive I work with a film crew looking to document some of the exiled Tibetans - weve ran into many trouble with the Chinese Govt. Do many people in Bhutan still practice Bhuddism? Why do some go as far as Dharamshala if Bhutan is so much closer?

  • @uwmbigb - Because Dharamshala is where exiled Tibetans live. It's also Dalai Lama's home now. It's in India and it's cheaper to go there than to Bhutan.

  • @superbusybug Didnt answer my question you just repeated my statement lol, I asked why do so many Tibetans flee to there.

  • Please come and visit East and South, then you will see the different story. The video is only form the central Bhutan ( The place of ruling people- King )

Love over my people and country not to an absolute king!

  • so it was really there?

  • I'd love to get to do my grad research in Bhutan. Can I ask price wise and safety wise, political stability, etc, what are peoples' experience on this? Great video :)

  • Brilliant video - I just came back from seeing some of the festivals in Bhutan - including one in the Dzong in Thimpu @ 1.43. Truly wonderful country - my own highlights were Punakha and the arrival at Paro - one of the most beautiful airports in the world:).

Thanks again for the video, some wonderful memories here.......

  • u dont even need any papers if ur an indian citizen, India and Bhutan are basically one

  • The trek to the "Tiger's Nest" Monastary is one of my absolute dreams. I heard there are guards everyhere once you get to a certain point, and they won't let anyone inside the monastary. I would love to stay there for a week, and be among the monks.

  • @Soulquarium Not true.

we went all over Tiger's Nest. No bags, cameras, shoes

  • @Soulquarium Not true.

we went all over Tiger's Nest. No bags, cameras, shoes. Another monastery we could sit behind the chanting monks.

  • Many thanks for the song and video, be blessed.

  • wonderful!

  • I wish I can go there. I have a goose bump watching this. I feel like I am in a lost world fairy tale.!!!

  • Nice video. Great country. We are going to Buthan in oktober this year and with your video we have an idea wat to expect. Wich season did you visit the country??

    Toine

  • @yvoto71 Thank you. We went in September and the weather was perfect. Have a great trip. I am sure you will enjoy Bhutan and its people.

  • @yvoto71 Can you tell me how was the weather there in October? Was it very cold at night? I'm thinking of going this year. Thanks!!

  • @chiwy33 The first 3 days we had a bit of rain and it was verry cloudy. The rest of de month bright sky's. Temperature at night is about 0°C. In de day with sunshine its about 20 to 22 °C. Depends on how high you are staying en wich region. In the south-east the weater is tropical. For an impression of what the weather is like you can also see my video of Jambey lakhang drup on yvoto71.

  • I think that the song is prajna paramita sutra (heart sutra), but I am not entirely sure.

  • BRAVO!

  • Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful experience.

  • I can't wait to go in August. I kind of wish I didn't watch the video because I want to see everything for the first time when I get there. This will be my 3rd trip in 3 years to Buddhist countries. I can't wait to learn more.

  • thnx so much for posting. thoroughly enjoyed it.

  • It bring back sweet memories of the trip I went in August 2008.We are had a great time there our agent is a Singaporean married to a local and we had the opportuniy have dinner at her house. And hope to return someday too. Thank u for posting . Singapore

  • @neoplati Lol? That's one of the most sacred monasteries in Bhutan.

  • @neoplati wtf so funny ?

  • Amazing! if i could go there i would stay FOREVER!

  • I thought this kind of nations didn't exist anymore.Good to see there are some places free of marketing and television

  • @Phantomagia

They are making some changes though. They are opening their makets a little. But you are right. It is good to see that a nation like this does exist. I would like to go there some day.

  • Hi

What a beautiful and happy nation....!

As a Child I always wanted to visit Bhutan, one day I will. Can you please tell me the name of the song and its meaning and also the instrument played in the background. It is very relaxing.

    Thank You

  • Please see previous answers below. The instruments are: Wooden drum, flute, two-string lute, electronic instruments according to the label. I am not sure about its meaning except its used for meditation, relaxation and spiritual enlightenment.

And yes, it is a happy and beautiful country. We hope to return some day.

  • Hey. How much did you pay for such a trip? Buthan only. I would love to get there while doing my overland trip to indochina next year, but i heard it may cost even 200 USD per day of stay. Any cheaper options (no matter what standard - i'm really budget traveller so i don't mind sharing my bad with roaches ;))?

  • Our trip was expensive, since we combined Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan. As I mentioned below for another question, entry into Bhutan is strict and controlled. At the time we went in 2006, you could only go with a tour company or be invited by the government. I also did hear about $200 per day, but since we had a package deal, it was included in the total. Suggest check with the embassy, get your wallet out...and good luck!

  • @2flyndive Hi I was wondering what is this music? I'm looking for more music like this song. Cheers :)

  • yep its $200 usd a day. (might be lowered slightly soon)

But that 200 includes your food, hotels and touring.

Your other expenses probably wont be more than $200.

  • 3 questions if You allow me.

    1) how many days You stayed over there

    2) what is the name of this song

    3) where can I book the airplane tickets? Online not possible

  • 1) Four days

    2) See answer on previous question below

    3) You must go with tour company (like GeoEx) or be invited by the Bhutanese government. Entry into Bhutan is very strict and controlled.

  • thx for your answers.

By the way, the name of the song is: Mantra Avalokiteshvara

  • Beautiful song!!!

Excuse me, i am not bhutanese, i am ukrainian. what is the name of this song?

  • Its called 'Tibetan Incantations'. I agree, it is very nice.

  • thank you!!!

  • i am a Bhutanese and i was born in Bhutan... yet it still takes my breath away.

  • Happiest folk on earth.

  • @NorthernDancer1111

Those who are close to king and have chance to enjoy the power by threatening civilian are the happiest folk on earth

  • i was born there, and i haveent been there since my childhood but i do plane to visit this summer :D

  • lovely.... loved every minute of my stay there. trully my heaven.

  • It looks something like the high country in Pennsylvania.

  • I love Bhutan, it the place of dreams and visions. Bhutanese people are so charming and lovely. I hope to visit it soon.

  • fantastic production! we've used your clip to convey to our friends our experience in Bhutan combined with our still photos.. Thank you!!

  • Great video of my favorite country in the world.

  • because of the music you'd put as your background, i'm rating it 5 stars! ;)

  • Wow!!!

  • Thanks for posting this, The monastery was something to see.

  • Oh, these buildings and the environment are so indescribable!

  • nicely done .... even though the background music isn't Bhutanese Buddhist prayer it sounds good .... and its not Panakha ..its Punakha.... over all .....i liked it ... good job

  • @namgay1234 I met you on the Backroads trip this October. We plan to come back to see you and flyfish. The Spikers
