  • the movie was very well written I was very surprised when i saw it

  • I'm going to take acid and watch this movie.

  • The problem with this movie is that it switches eras just as you get invested in the characters

  • Holy rotoscopes Batman!

  • Awesome movie, one of my fave animated movies since i was 12 back in 93 as i watched it on TBS with Vampire Hunter D, Heavy Metal, Robot Carnival Watership Down and Rock and Rule with Hey Good Looking. I got hooked into adult animation since then and bought this when it came out when i was 16, loved it! I also cried when Zalmie's mom died, If you like this one, check out Pink Floyd The Wall, Heavy Metal, Waltz with Bashir and Grave of The Fireflies

  • Zalmie Should Have Been A Shanquinthoe Unlike or a New Sardine Samurai Chief

  • This one of my favorite films.

  • why is this rated R and do you have the tv trailer for Fritz the cat, Heavy traffic, and Wizards?

  • for coarse language, and unfortunately I do not have those other trailers

  • I'd love to see the full film as Pete seems like a true cinematic Hero.

Where others have failed, he succeeded - like a prophecy fulfilled.

  • @SamusDrake It is a great film,When Pete sings Night Moves(w/Bob Seger's Vocals of course) for some stuffed shirt record execs-it is a great scene

  • @deckard97

Some kind soul put the whole film up on Youtube and it was excellent. Favourite scene is where Pete pulls a flick-knife out on a potential mugger to protect Tony.

With all the music films(most of them absolute shit) doing the rounds at the moment, its a crime that this film isn't noticed. Its nothing less than historically important! ^_^

  • @SamusDrake I completely agree,it should be re released for its 30th birthday.Try getting the dvd on amazon or ebay, its worth it

  • @deckard97

Would do, but its only an American DVD release - it was never(to my knowledge) released in Europe. And I sadly don't see them bothering with it on Blu-Ray.

I guess my "other copy" will do for now... -_^

Does the rotoscoping techniques in this movie remind you of the similar animation rotscoping techniques like in avatar? Cameron is a Bakshi fan and wanted to do a similar kind of animation technique only more modern, same for Zemeckis. If you like this one i recommend Grave of the Fireflies, Waltz with Bashir and Pink Floyd The Wall for similar animated movies

  • @Johnlindsey289 Yes i noticed that in Avatar-was not aware Cameron is a Ralph Bakshi fan

  • @deckard97

Have you seen the movies i mentioned especially Grave of the Fireflies? very powerful and heartbreaking animated drama

  • @Johnlindsey289 Only Alan Parker's Pink Floyd: The Wall-very cool i must see the other 2 titles you mentioned

  • @deckard97

does this animation also remind you of what Robert Zemeckis is doing in movies like Christmas Carol, Polar Express or Beowulf?

  • @Johnlindsey289 yes-i do like that style Zemeckis uses in his animated films.

  • This rotoscoped live person rock footage could have been perfect for the Rock Band and Guitar Hero video games!
