Luc Michel Faichaud clearly stated that the RB26DETT can't reach 1000 hp without altering its reliability and without the use of hi octane gasoline(more costly),the big turbos,the boost pressure that it would recquire(between 30/40 psi) would affect reliability and torque at low rpm,If I remember well LMF said the the RB26 has a bad torque at low rpm in the first place and its cast iron made,heavy as shit....I'm not a "connaisseur" nor an engine engineer but I tend to agree with LMF...

RXHardstyle I was going to say the samething. The V12 will make the power with less boost and survive a lot longer. I remember reading that was the main reason why this guy did it for road racing. In quarter mile racing the engine is WOT for only seconds vs road racing you're WOT for a lot more time. 1000 HP in the V12 is 83HP per cylinder vs 166hp per cylinder for the I6. Also this guy might be going with 4 smaller turbos for ultra fast boost response.

Doesn't make a diffrence whether its an inline6. What turbos do is boost your car from one level of rev, having two lets you have a boost for low rev and high rev, while one only lets you have one or the other. 4 turbos i don't really even understand on a V16.

The big difference is where the power is placed. 1000 hp @ 8000 rpm in maximum turboboost is useless on the road, only good for dragrace. A V12 has loads of torque, and will give its power from lower revs. If the 4 turbo are well-tuned, the engine can give 1000 hp from 3000 til 7000 rpm, and that is niiiiiiice differnenc. Even though you are right, waste of skyline, they could put that v12 in whatever what car!

You seem to have overlooked that fact that there are four small turbos on this. You act as if there is a huge turbo(s) on it and it's still struggling to make that power. It probably doesn't even need very much boost to get 1000HP and it will produce that for much longer than any inline 6 ever could. An I6 with a massive turbo is gonna make about 400-700HP, finally hit 1000, and then you have to shift anyway. It's called a powerband, and this motor has it.
