i don't give a fuck what people think, that would have been a lot less painful if he didn't ditch the bike. Never EVER ditch the bike. The rear shock absorber can absorb more impact then your small feeble legs. Take the bounce off the bike, not the full brunt of the impact. Maybe he learned his lesson.

Your neighbor sounds like he did a dolphin dive onto flat ground, and had the bike bounce off of him. Ditching could easily break your legs, slice and dice arteries, and then you die.
