I haven't played the game in a long time, but just go up to settings and select which function you want to go wrong. You can make the failure happen right away or at a certain time. To play the missions, select missions when you but it up.

I never understood why the graphics are so lame in these simulation games. Like train simulator, flightsim x etc etc.

I realise that in flightsim there are probably a hell of a lot of calculations etc going on to handle the physics/controls of the planes, but surely the graphics dont have to look so late 90's.

I could probably quite easily get into this sim, but they just look so horrific.

I realise that graphics isn't everything too, I can definitely understand people being really into it.

also, fsx has the WORST CODE written in the face of the planet. i think its funny that you say '90's graphics', because fsx is just a slap job of code based of FLIGHT SIM 98. not mutti core optimized, not gpu optimized.

It really does look rather wretched. I mean look at the "helepad" that thing lands on around the 6:30 mark. It looks like a 128x128 jpg for gods sake.

Awful lazy design work. I'm sure the physics are reasonable. Why can't someone make a nice flight sim?

Also pause at 6:03 to see "Car and Driver" level of graphics quality. Absolutely shocking for this day and age...

I'm not knocking people who like this sorta game, as I'm sure I would, I just think we deserve better visuals in 2009 than this.

I didn't do anything special to get the airport. Everyone that purchases the game has the airport. You probably have your scenary settings to low. You have to play around with them to get the level of detail you want, but it comes with a cost. If you select max density, you will get airport tugs, fuel trucks, etc, but it slows down your computer. It depends on your system. Let me know how that works. Be prepared to take several hours to tweak it, if not days.

You don't use tail steering. It is a flaw in the microsoft system. the tail steering is appropriate for the small general aviation planes, but inappropriate for the big jets as they use a tiller. There is nothing you can do about it, unless someone creates a fix.

no, combat has no place in a civilian flight sim. i think they're doing great the way they are right now. i would ask them to improve terrain mesh quality in additional to the usual upgrades.

It does not have to be a war situation for an intercept to take place. You can be intercepted while flying through the US, there are certain zones that are used for training missions and if you fly through them you can and probably will be intercepted.

I am aware of that, Gaylord. Thanks for reminding me. I don't know any way to turn the aircraft on the ground without using the rudder other than differential braking which is not feasible on a game. In real life, a tiller is used.

no i think he meant that you don't use the actual rudder to turn, like the control surface just that the rudder is connected to the nose gear and in order to turn the nose gear to actually turn the plane you need to twist the rudder, but the rudder itself doesn't turn the plane its the nose wheel

I don't know where in the world you are, but all you need is Microsoft Flight Simulator X. You can go to your local best buy, or probably order it on amazon or something. Get the Acceleration Pack (X-pack) because it has carriers with working catapault and arresting wires and a joy stick. I played for years with no joy stick, but you can't fly the fighters like that.

Shift e opens the doors. It's best to assign a hot key to open the cargo doors. Control J calls the jet bridge providing you have the scenary density high enough, and shift F calls the fuel truck.

I believe you have firewall issues. You are going to have to go to your control panel and I think firewall and allow the connection. If you don't allow it there, you have to allow it someplace else. I just don't remember. There is nothing wrong with your connection or computer. It's your security settings it sounds like ...
