  • possibly the definitive performance of this song.

  • were singing this for our spring concert

  • I should sing this in my cafeteria!!

  • @rosabaca21 ahahahahaha

  • Judy's amazing talent and legacy brought me here.

I dressed up like this one year for halloween (any excuse to dress up like Judy tbh lol) and I had so much fun explaining to people who I was lol!

Judy, although you suffered mentally with depression and alcoholism, we still love you and remember you even now. Thank you for your skills :)

  • My son is rehearsing to this song as I type this. Great jazzy song and really fun to watch the Dance in whatever choreography.

  • Too bad everyone who came here because of House (his was great, too) had to see such a bad video quality on this clip. There's a much better quality clip of "Get Happy" (with Judy G.) on youtube.

  • Aqui por causa de HOUSE

  • RIP legend

  • Thank You.

  • I'm here cos I have good taste in music.

  • Gregory House version is best

  • Get ready for December 21st 2012

  • @elangeltribalista

"We are not to know the time when God will judge us..." It's in the Bible, you should read it, rather than skim it and click "Like".

  • I brought me here...

  • There's something sadly ironic about Judy Garland singing this song, because she was such an unhappy woman in reality.

  • @cinderelmo I don't think Britney looks much like Judy. Maybe when she was young but I don't really see it now.

  • @millers3888 I know I think Britney looks only like a really young version of Judy teens ,and early 20s her Mickey Rooney days and Wizard of Oz days she reminds me of Britney , Britney like Judy went through a facial and physical transformation that is another thing they have in common, Britney is more Liza ish then Judy ish, Britney when she started out had a fuller face like Judy but she got skinny, they may not be twins but have doe puppy eyes, well sorry for ranting, raving bout Judy LoL.

  • @millers3888 Your'e right!!!!!!!! I was watching the golden globes clips and Natalie Portman does look like Judy and shes tiny like her too those big brown doe eyes yup and the yellowish pale beige skin tone I saw the resemblance but Natalie has more angular features and Judy's are more round but yeah they do look a like. Its all in the eyes Judy's were doe eyed and um maybe if Natalie plays Judy older one Sandra and Britney as Liza or Britney Judy the doe eyes but Natalie Portman her eyes ...

  • @millers3888 look like Judy's on the golden globes wow she reminded me of Judy in meet me in St.Louis the petite ness and the angular features when Judy lost the baby weight from The Wizard Of Oz.

  • whats amazing is this song is only 2:50 yet drags on for forever

  • this is very good song hey people! you can hear this song if it was summer and because its a

    summer

    stock and s very great

song its like when its not summer when u hear this song

    its

    like

    summer!

    agree??

  • Its as it is and who could ask for more

  • Natalie Portman would be a good Judy. She needs to be short, Judy was only 4'11. Anne Hathaway is a freaking giant compared to her and looks more like Liza. I thought Tammy Blanchard was a perfect young Judy in the TV movie and should've played her throughout the 1940's instead of Judy Davis.

  • @millers3888 Yikes I agree, I know Anne Hathaway is to tall to be 4'11 Judy come on ,how ironic cause Judy was practically a munchkin herself, Natalie Portman was in talks for the Judy role but it went to Anne cause of singing ,Anne should play Liza, Like I said Britney like Judy went through a lot worked since a young age shes doe eyed like her, Natalie Portman so so as Judy shes small like her, but Britney as older Judy hows that going to work and Natalie as older Judy nah.

  • @millers3888 That being said Natalie Portman looks more like Aubrey Hepburn then Judy she has more angular features than Judy ,Judy had more round features then Natalie Portman did,yes Natalie is a brunette doe eyes petite etc. but the similarity's end there. So maybe older Judy Sandra Bullock,Young Judy Britney Spears or Lindsay Lohan so Britney, Anne Hathaway as Liza not Judy or Katherine Heigl or Hilary Swank she looks like her. Natalie Portman good as Liza though the angular features.

  • @millers3888 Oh yeah well whoever they pick hopefully its not as bad as Michelle Williams as Marilyn hard to find a resemblance there shes so dowdy she should've played Debbie Reynolds life story, again another great role for Britney she also resembles Marilyn um oh BTW Natalie Portman like Liza Minnelli has angular features. The only time Judy ever had angular features was in meet me in st. Louis and in the pirate when she lost a lot of weight.

  • I'm here because of zoey deshannel

  • I was watching Beyonce and then I went back to Judy.

  • judy garland is one of the most amazing performers i have ever seen :D

  • Me and my mam both love Judy Garland, shes amazing.

  • i really do love this song,

I'm doing it for an audition!!

  • definetely she is most talented show business actress and singer. just marvellous and an unique legend ..for someone who really enjoys watching classical musical dvds, she is a kind of queen.

  • Love love love Judy Garland!!!

  • I'm here because of Gregory House

  • To be Honest I was about to slag her off after watching her and her daughter give a toe curling performance on an old Sunday night at the London Palladium. But after watching this I must admit she was talented and very Hot in her prime

  • @5050zulu1 watch?v=K1g_Sd4XiRg=most talented female entertainer EVER.

  • If they make a movie about her life I don't think they need to. But if I could chose someone to play Judy based on looks alone not voice. I think cause of the fact that she was doe eyed I would say Katherine Heigl sorta maybe Britney Spears same eyes or Liza perhaps in the film,Anne Hathaway is too tall but same eyes good voice um I would pick Sandra Bullock beautiful doe eyes like Judy's. I think maybe Anne but she would have to age in makeup for the right look. Also maybe Lady Gaga as Liza.

  • Okay guys don't hate me for saying this but I think not in this video but Britney Spears kinda looks like Judy/Liza. I think its because of the sad doe eyes there is something about a younger Judy that reminds me of Britney's looks I think its the big brown puppy eyes and Liza's too not here but sometimes anyone agree I don't think Britney sings like her but there is a small resemblance not here of course.Plus Sandra Bullock should play Judy or Liza same doe eyes rather than Anne Hathaway.

  • @cinderelmo Britney Spears might look a little like her. But try Lindsay Lohan. She's more Judy-esque.

  • @xander7ful Lindsay Lohan oh yeah ,she somewhat reminds me of Judy the petiteness ,and those big doe eyes however somewhat I have thought of that before but Britney Spears looks wise reminds me a lot of Judy and Liza they have those big brown doe eyes I just hope whoever plays her looks like her cause Anne Hathaway kinda looks like her not a lot ,I think Britney,Lindsay or Katherine Heigl younger Judy and for sure Sandra Bullock older Judy, or Britney as Judy or Anne Hathaway as Liza.

  • @xander7ful Its tricky casting but I would say maybe young Judy ,Britney Spears, Older Judy Sandra Bullock, Anne Hathaway as Liza not Judy um maybe Lindsay should play her cause she needs a good role these days if not then maybe Katherine Heigl reminds me of Judy but Katherine Heigl look like Natalie Wood so nah but if not then she could play Judy. But there is a resemblance between Britney and Judy/Liza thanks for agreeing.

  • Judy looking sexy and being her amazing self.

  • Im here because of Ariana <3

  • I love her voice.

  • have to perform this in my school's upcoming pantomime I play snow white

  • I think this is where Michael Jackson got his idea for the choreography to the live performance of 'Dangerous' !

  • And they say dresses THESE days are too short! Anyways, love me some good ol' Judy Garland. <3 Rest in peace forever.

  • here because of twin peaks ;)

  • Get happy

  • can't believe she was only 28 here..... she looks older, was she sick?

  • @omaragatha By this time, Judy's weight was fluctuating. In Summer Stock, she is pretty heavy, but by this number she is noticeably thinner, so she actually looks pretty good here. It could be that her hair is pulled up like she did in her older years so it adds a few years on, but it also could be the quality of the video. No doubt, by 1950 she had been sick for years and was fired from MGM shortly after. Search Judy Garland 1952 accepting her tony at age 30, she actually looks pretty good.

  • hihi I am here to have fun

  • This just makes me happy!

  • I have been here when everybody thinks your going to fail at the big moment.

This is why I adore her. She ALWAYS delivered when evryone else wrote her off.

  • hee hee she's so little <3 and yet so amazing.

  • Haha I sang this number. Man Judy Garland is perfect.

  • 2:03 He dances better than Chris Brown

  • Ugh, I wish I looked like that

  • Check out those gams fellas. Wow, them stems are beautiful! Absolutely enchanting voice. RIP Judy - I love you

  • Thumbs up if Judy Garland brought you here and not someone or something else like fx. Glee.

  • I luv her shes so cool!!

  • Just so cool.

  • I really LOVE this exibition !!!! She's so CHIC !!!

  • Here because of Hugh Laurie!!!!

  • Oh and that guy on Judy's right at 2:00 is pretty bad ass. I was like WHOA! :o

  • CLASS ACT!... Too bad in the 21st century we get obnoxious, overrated skanks instead of this type of elegance.

  • @ObsessedWithPassions Really? That skirt looks pretty short.

  • @brittanythecaptain Someone obviously knows nothing about the theater -_-

  • @ObsessedWithPassions Someone obviously thinks it's their business to judge other women.

  • BOY MEETS WORLD BROUGHT ME HERE :P

  • Who the hell are the dislikes? This is classic Garland.

  • House bring me here :D

  • Judy Gumm ....kick it baby!

  • Wow...we dont care if Ariana Grande brought u here! I like Ariana but this is a Judy Garland video not an Ariana Grande video ok?

  • lol baby You not gonna be bored with me

  • I was listening to this on Radio 2 the other day, it was a show about Harold Arlen, ♥ this song. I love cheerful music :)

  • My absolutely favorite Judy Garland song/act!

  • Why the hell does house sing this song in cuddy's dream?

  • Judy Garland brought me here

  • summer stock brought me here

  • I think it would be a decent video if there was a compilation video (a la "Unforgetable" w/ Natalie & Nat King Cole) of Judy, Liza & Hugh Laurie singing this together. Don't hate my idea, because *you* have also had a bad idea or 2 on your sheet, the world just doesn't know about them!

  • i'm here because of hugh laurie <3

  • Uh... thumbs up if Roger Ebert's facebook brought you here? :P

  • Comment removed

  • @goofed86 Maybe you mean Liza, Judy died...

  • @goofed86 << Umm, are you sure?

  • What key is she singing this in?

  • GR8 performance by a living legend in her day. Do an internet search on ~ 10212011EndsIT ~ May God bless us ALL in these difficult & trying times~!

  • this is funny.. i got this song from House MD. so funny.. but i like the House MD. version better because it is slower

  • Judy was tiny her legs look long but compare her to those dancers she really was 4'11, it was just heels that made her look "tall" a tiny woman with a powerful beautiful voice.

  • @cinderelmo I agree. Judy Garland tends to look tall when she is by herself, but she looks short when next to her co-actors in many movies.

Her body didn't really develop because MGM and her mother didn't make her eat much during her childhood. On top of that, she didn't get enough rest and always on the road practicing, rehearsing and performing makes you lose energy.

Mickey Rooney appeared around her height and he was a great match for her.

  • @saolili Well by the time she made The Wizard of oz she was already 16 or 17 years of age so she had probally was well developed by that time I think she did eat well it was not because those romurs or stories you have heard she did change a lot of weight in the 40s she had her daughter liza for ex look how different she looks in meet me in st. Louis and how healthy she looks in a star is born but yeah I agree that Mickey Rooney was a great match for her height though. She lost the baby weight.

  • @cinderelmo When you're 16-17 years old, your body and bones is still growing. Eating alone can't make you grow, it's a combination of other things that you need to do as part of your routine including plenty of rest and sleep, and Judy Garland lacked that. Getting drugged up every day doesn't help matters too.

She was skinny even before she had Liza Minnelli. I thought she looked underweight in Ziegfield Girl. I know Judy Garland can grow taller if she wasn't a Hollywood star.

  • im here because House MD says so xD

  • "We're going to the promised land". House took me there :)

  • i think this song would work for one of the fallout games

its a 50s 60s style happy upbeat song about the apocalypce

  • Thumbs up if u searched this songs from House's MD Season 7 Episode 15....:))))))))

  • I watched House's version to see what all of the comments are about, and it is super creepy. But when her version first, and then that, it's not creepy at all.

  • House's version was so in-your-face I laughed. This is said with such an upbeat tone that it brings chills down my spine. In my opinion, treating something that any rational person should be at least a little bit upset about so cheerfully is much more disturbing than "HEY, HEY, HEY, LOOK AT US BE CREEPY, WE'RE SINGING ABOUT DEATH, D'YA GET IT, HUH, HUH?"

    That's just silly.

  • I don't really think of her as being in a time period. Maybe "greatest singer of the twentieth century" but it wasn't all THAT long ago. She transcends.

  • indeed.i watch this in 2011...on HOUSE M.D!

  • this song is creepy.

  • Judy is always fantastic, but I always found Mr. Monotony from Easter Parade to be better. Same outfit, but more seductive and sleek. This is more of a happy number (about a morbid subject). That being said, Judy is THE diva from 1:12-1:23.

  • 84 people didn't forget their troubles XD

  • House brought me here

  • doctor house broght me here xD

  • Nightmarish lyrics. Made to be remade in 2011.

  • My favourite Judy Garland number - sadly, the last she ever filmed at MGM.

  • Not nearly as creepy as when House did it.

  • House brought me here :)

  • I Can't believe that she is Liza Minelli's mother.

  • @jlopink why?

  • thumbs up if you heard this song BEFORE house o.o

  • I'm singing this for show choir. That's what brought me here.

  • House brought me here

  • i thought that House sings the original. oh. :D HOUSE is better:P

  • hihi Im a student, living by herself, in love with fashion

  • Yeah, being a huge Judy fan, I never really found the appeal in this song. It's catchy and all, but it's nothing like The Man that Got Away. It sounds better slow like when she sings it on her show with Barbara Streisand.

  • House sings it better :D

  • Im singing this for my pageant :)

  • @tempusborealis Ah, I see. Thanks for that clarification. =)

  • The beginning kind of reminded me of Michael Jackson's opening for Dangerous on MTV in 1995.

  • Judy shot this number two months after the completion of the film, and completely drugged (paraldahyde)!!!

  • @koln1996 she locked herself in the toilet like five mins before she was due to go on stage, she was having an absolute breakdown and was ripping her hair out.. that's why she's wearing the hat.. poor girl, nobody deserves a world of pain like she and many other famous stars have had to endure. such a beautiful talent too.

  • love the way dance has progressed but this still makes me tingle .............. classy

  • Like this if @osnapitsari (ariana grande) brought you here

  • @alyson714 its actually @osnapitzari

  • Thumbs up if Ariana Grande brought you here

  • i love judy garland.she's fabulous

  • LIKE THIS IF ARIANA BROUGHT YOU HERE!

  • Ariana brought me here :)

  • Like if Ari brought you here ♥ (:

  • classssssiiiiccc also like if ariana brought you here

  • thumbs up if Ariana send you here :)

  • Comment removed

  • Yes, I noticed this video because of Ariana Grande, but I'm listening to it because I want to :) Because Judy Garland's amazing ♥

  • Ariana brought me here!

  • thumbs up if Ariana Grande brought you here!

  • They did a better remake of this on House

  • her hat is kick -ass!! =D

  • @CharNiteX NOTHING is better then the original Judy Garland!

  • Good God, Leland...

  • house M.D :3

  • come on ppl she looks like hitler

  • Stop asking for thumbs up and listen to this amazing song!

  • This is the same routine MJ used in his performance of the song "Dangerous" that one year at the MTV awards. He was such a class act. He took this wonderful era and brought it to the 80's, 90's and beyond fusing it with pop music. And his friends such as Lizza M and Elizabeth Taylor, Gene Kelly and Sammy Davis loved him for it, ad did we.

  • @iamtheruss Michael Jackson was HEAVILY influenced by Judy and Liza. If you search Liza Minnelli Sweet Blindness on youtube, you'll see the choreography is very similar to Jacksons later work. Jackson mastered the art of creating group dances, something Judy and Liza also mastered way before his time.

  • @millers3888 Only the daughter (Liza) was dreadfully mediocre and possessed the talent of an uncertain chicken and the mother (Garland) was a freakin' out-of-your-mind genius. YEP.

  • @ianransom7 Liza was pretty talented, check out the Sterile Cuckoo if you've never seen it. And Garland was probably the most talented woman of the 20th century, despite her personal failures. Jackson said repeatedly how much he was influenced by them, and was good friends with Liza.

  • @iamtheruss Oh yeah it is like MJ's Dangerous. Like when he walked over the guy on the floor like judy did :)

  • Thumbs up if you're here because of House MD. :D

  • @MrSoprano92: AND FU**IN PROUD OF IT! YA GOT A PROBLEM WITH IT? I'll gladly show ya how I can adjust your attitude Jersey-style

  • ppl calm down. who cares if house brought u here or not.

Nobody introduced me to this woman, nobody in my family listens to her so i never knew about her.

Shes good but way too fast for me.

I think Hugh Laurie sung it better cuz it was more slower and im in love with him lol. But my opinion.

Some ppl prefer this version, some ppl prefer house's. Everyone has their own opinion. Get over it.

  • Chamber choir in my school sang this

  • CHECK ME OUT SINGING ' OVER THE RAINBOW ' BY JUDY GARLAND .

  • thumbs up if house brought you here :)

  • nothing better!!! Judy Garland was an awesome talent... watch A Star Is Born, Judgement At Nuremburg, Summer Stock.... watch\listen to her concerts from Carnegie Hall... She was brilliant!!!! I have loved her my entire life... no one compares to her...

  • I find it ironic, that with all of Judy's issues (drugs, alcohol & gays), a certain segment of the political & religious populace use this version to push their agenda. At least Judy's true fans know and accept her faults, and understand the context and real meaning of this "downer of a ditty." (Sarcasm on the downer!)

  • @gayboyzig Great another queer.

  • This is my favourite song ever and obviously I have a lot of respect for this version.

But as other people have said, I prefer Houses version - I guess it's just more modernised (and Ive been a Hugh Laurie fan for years). But this is an AMAZING song! I have loved it from the moment I first heard it.

  • Get ready..Get ready I'm gonna..... bloody brilliant!!

  • oh.....that's where the begining of Dangerous dance comes from...

  • is there a longer version of this song with judy singing it? there are longer versions but with different singers.

  • Wow I like House's version better by miles.

  • Don't hate me, but I prefer houses version
