  • nice sausages but how much meat do you use for the ingridients 1 lb, 2lb how much meat,,,,

  • anyone have suggestions for a replacement for veal? our family doesn't like the taste of veal.

  • @Jakathera Brats is typically used with veal but pork is a good replacement for veal brats. Served with a nice side of hot german mustard and rye/ a hard roll :)

  • @Brian567899 Thanks for the suggestion! :D

  • @Jakathera No problem!

  • i saw all the spice, egg, and cream amounts but what weight of pork and veal did you use?

  • Another question: How much of a difference does the type of beer make when simmering the sausages? For example, a good beer versus oh....bud light? I'm not a beer drinker so can you recommend a decent brand? thanks again

  • @NobbyKNobbs. It isn´t that important, actually just simmering them in beer wont give them a special flavor. In oder to achive this you must leave them over night marinating in the beer (in the fridge). then take them out and bring the beer to a simmer, cook them and... voila! you got an amazing "biergeschmack" sausages

  • How long will bratwurst last when stored in the freezer? thanks

  • At 0:25, what animal carcus are they holding on the right?

  • @JoanJoan1997 i think lamb but not sure

  • @JoanJoan1997 the edible kind

  • looks great its really REALLY to bad i cant have practically any bits of spicy thing......you could even say pepper would set me off but it looks SOOOOOOO good!!

  • "when'd you go to germany?" priceless

  • Sausage patties are called Frikadellen in Germany.

  • @KreatorRage or Fleischküchle or Buletten :)

  • Ohhh noo son of a bitch! Lmao the way he said it.

  • Did ya catch that...You know it's good...even the dog is drooling....I hope they gave you some, Humprey.

    I love you guys!!!

  • let's throw a bratwurst party

  • Don't make a science out of it ;-) 1:22

  • Great stuff here.

  • to me, the bratwurst doesn't look delicious. i'm from germany and i prefer the brown ones(white ones: thüringer wurst, brown ones: schinken wurst). and just to let you know: bratwurst is not a typical german dish, especially not with kraut!!! i never ate it in that combination. it's typical bavarian, which is just a part of germany.

  • 5$ for a six pack! Whatever lol.

  • complimenti ;-)

  • I KNEW THE MEANING OF BRATWURST before I knew the meaning of the word "LANGUAGE" because I am from Germany, so maybe at the age of 4 years, I was able to understand BRATWURST, JUST FOR THE RECORDS... when did you learn the meaning of that word BRATWURST??????

  • Looks sooooooooooooooo goood! Gonna try it this weekend!!

  • great video and what a nice dog

  • My man is Hungarian and makes these sausages with paprika in them, and you poach them in beer the same as brats...Just so good! Old world is the way to go.

  • 6 pack of beer for $5??? those r the days

  • I make some of my own sausage. You had a good idea for using bulk sausage, but instead of just patties, you can use it as part of soup or other dishes. It is already highly seasoned meat.

I find that fresh sausage tastes better a couple days latter or after you freeze for a while. The flavors meld.

I don't think it is fair to just say something is a pantry item: it cost money to buy, it costs money to replace.

Feed Humphrey - he is drooling.

  • i have a really big sausage i would love to send a photo

  • feed the dog a piece of sausage lol

  • that's some good salchicha bro =)

  • o0o0o i want some now

  • thanks for posting 5 stars for the video :) though i got a question about it. after poaching it, cooling it down and putting the sausages into the fridge could be useful for storage ? or should i just make them and keep in the fridge then poach just before when i grill for some another time ?

  • i cant wait to try this recipe i normally dont eat hotdogs because of all the crap thats put in there but i will try this one thanks for sharing

  • a hot dog type food that doesn't make me feel gross! lol.. i love chicago style hotdogs which makes sense because i live in the windy city but those look friggin amazingly delicious!

  • Homemade sausage is always good. My dad and his buddies made a sampler batch last month that was insanely good. Play around with the curing: dry cured Hungarian sausage tastes way different from smoked Hungarian sausage.

  • Sauerkraut is a must for proper German food. <3

  • This was a really great video.

  • seriously, this was really great.

  • This video was interesting. but i will not likely be making sausages anytime soon haha. i can see making patties though

    that i could probably handle.
