They can be super disrespectful of anything they perceive to be religious. Im not religious at all, but Im def not going to go and bash religion in the face of those who choose to follow it. Unfortunately, a lot of extreme metal goes beyond a sense of rebellion to a derogatory direction. Gene hoglan has been in bands like death,where chuck used meaningful lyrics

Ha! I know! I have been playing for like 15 years, trying to be somewhere near as good as my favorite metal drummers. I'm like 5'5" 150 and pretty fit, and I equate drumming to this huge physical activity but seeing gene just tear it up with minimal movement and so much extra gut just messes with my head. Maybe he's the heaviest drummer because he's literally the heaviest drummer, bad joke i know. Gene Hogland rules1

Gene's been playing so long that he can manipulate his hands and feet to do just about anything on the drum set. I guess it just goes to show that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover haha
