  • I used to love to watch treasure hunt when i was a teenager so i could pause the video on anankas arse so i could knock one out.

  • Oh wow this song... makes me feel so nostalgic and happy ><!!!

  • And also because Anneka is so hot!

  • I loved watching Challenge Anneka. It just showed how much good will there is in the world.

  • Memories!

  • beat at the start is similat to 'welcome to the pleasuredome' by frankie goes to hollywood

  • Love it at 0:15 as Anneka appears on the screen as a whirlwind! Great titles and they remind me of my childhood, so thanks for sharing! Don't remember Anneka being that hot!!

  • It would be good if the programme was repeated on Challenge because its exactly what challenge should show imho

  • @MJPExeter Too true.

  • shall we dance my love

  • big tits

  • lol!!!!!! happy days!! aaawww its enuf 2 bring a tear 2 ur eye TV just isnt like this nowadays is it.........;-D

  • @johncrilly1981 It brings back great memories. Saturday night TV with Noels house party, generation game with Brucey, and this show. And then sundays was Lovejoy, antiques roadshow, keeping up appearances.....and friggin homework which I'd left till the last minute.

  • 0.47 Ehh- mending the San Andreas fault? Bit of a stretch of the imagination methinks (!) Stick to building schools for disabled kids, luv. ;)

  • What a classic! They don't do TV shows like that anymore. I always tuned in every week to see what task Anneka and the team were going to be set. It would be great to see this back on TV, but these days the word would be EXPENSIVE!

Good times and back in the days when TV was great!

  • my dad animated this :D

  • @taylorgoff235 Cool! What's his name?

  • @TheToddy30

    Andrew goff

  • @taylorgoff235 Tell him the animation is spot on!

  • I love how these titles are barely representative of the show at all :P

  • I lover these titles. I think these were the best out of the two available although I liked where the included raising Atlantis on the later ones.

  • This was on Saturday nights! I have a recollection of her renovating some stables in one of the episodes!

How cool was the deconstucted jeep vehicle she used to drive around in!?

  • this was the beginning of the end. make over shows eerrgghhh.

  • I'm not quite sure why I found Anneka so sexy as a 10 year old boy, but I couldn't wait for it to come on each week! It was so exciting to see what the next chalenge was and to see her dashing around on foot mmmmmmm and in the cool (so it seemed then!) buggy!

  • @christhesnaildriver amen to that mate i had this big crush on her 2 shes so hot.

  • @christhesnaildriver Hmm, so did I, think I watched this just to see her when I was a kid, good times, couldn't wait to see what the next challenge was as you said. Wish they would reshow this again, seems all the best shows from the 80s and 90s like this if they are not comedy dramas or sitcoms are rarely re shown on tv anymore

  • Puts the crying blubbing Aneka Rice from Hells Kitchen into perspective sadly!

  • Ha ha ha Anneka Rice was the main fantasy of many a teenage boy in the 80s and 90s in her tracksuits lol she made shell suits sexy. I used to love sat night telly it was the best day of the week Challenge Anneka she was brill. x x

  • I rember her tracksuit more than anything else

  • Wow that must be the original version of Jetzt oder Nie, a german television show with the same theme, but different graphics.

  • but how did the hedgehogs get underneath the bridge?!!!! how?!!! HOW?!!!ll lol

  • Challenge Anneka was AWESOME -Anneka was fricken HOT in the jumpsuite. Good times,

  • Like a daytime television intro

  • This brings back so many memories! I remember the truck and the buggy and the soundman...I think he was called Dave and can't remember what the camera man was called. Still member their faces to this day!!! She came to Swansea once, where I used to live and did up the Parry Pavillion, and it still stands there today as they did it! Turns out they didn't have planning premission or anything to do what they did. But the council let it slide as it was Aneka! Class!! Bring back Challenge Aneka!!!

  • lol, jeesh, mad seeing this after all them years, all gone so quickly as well.

  • aw so many memories! i loved that bit in the titles with the hedgehog crossing. oh and that little buggy thing that popped out of the lorry!

  • my dad used to drive the lorry

  • my mate brought antheas buggy

  • Has anyone got the Rumanian Orphanage programme they can post?

  • arg flashback

  • In the words of Stephen Fry:

    'GET THAT ARSE!'

  • It think it was Saturday nights. I used to watch it with my mum, dad and brother! They would stop in some nights just to see if Anneka could complete her challenge! Happy days! =D

    Bring it back!

  • Fuck, she's hot then.

  • Does anyone know why they stopped making this programme? Was it due to Health & Safety?

  • You would never be able to make this today for so many reasons... Not just health and safty... Budget for a start.

Everyone in the old show did it and supplyed the meterials for free.

You wont get that today thanks to how exspensive everything is today.

  • I love this tune!

  • Oh and the theme tune is brilliant!!!!! I have it as my ring tone! lol

  • Jesus!! TV shows like this were so amazing when i was a kid!! TV is utter shit now compared to what it was like when Challenge Anneka was in it's prime!

  • @poopoolaroo2 Well said! I couldn't agree more. TV programme makers should be utterly ashamed of themselves now. They seem completely incapable of creating the same quality entertainment, that shows like Challenge Anneka were. Unfortunately the best they can offer now are repeats!!

  • @poopoolaroo2 I totally agree. Gone are the day's of classics like this. All you get these day's is phone-in, text and or red button shows. all way's of making money out of you.

  • @poopoolaroo2 I know what you mean seems like yesterday, time gos so fast.

  • i used 2 love this was cool i rem that massive furry mic that guy always got in the way!

  • I miss theme tunes like this sO MUCH ;(

  • I always loved staring at her bum as she sprinted off somewhere ;P

  • I've been in the back of that truck!! :-)

  • I loved the little car that came out of the back of the truck...Knight Rider style!

  • Used to watch this! Waa!

  • me and my Gran used to watch this on Saturday nights, memories are made of this.

  • I remember that, the big blue truck

  • I used to love Challenge Anneka when I was a kid, absolutely love it. TV just isn't as compelling anymore. And Anneka Rice was the first person I ever fancied; I was only about 7 when CA was at its peak!

  • These days, she probably wouldn't be able to do any of the stuff she did in this prog because of health and safety nonces. And that massive lorry would get firebombed by a gang of scallies no doubt.

And the theme is on a par with animal hospital.

  • and by lunchtime She's curing Leprosy and restoring sight to the blind

  • Ahhh memories, happy ones at that. It's sad to think that this could never be revived - I just can't see people giving up their time and money as freely as people did then. What do you think? It was amazingly warming and touching seeing people put their time and effort into projects so worthwhile ... And this theme tune is amazing, love it, love it, love it. Thanks for posting.

  • Who paid for this show? I bet this show must of really pissed off the BBC, every week having to give money away to crappy charities that should of got money from stingy councils!

  • Ah retro TV themes, lovely!

  • I loved Anneka Rice. She was lovely, and she spoke properly, unlike the presenters today.

  • Who are slugs who dribble.

  • Why does the BBC not make shows of this quality any more? What's their excuse? Budget cuts? Boring and uninspired staff? I don't know.

  • yes they did one this new years because i watched it.

the cartoon titles on here for it are great esp this one

  • I agree it is a quality tv show, and who says its not on now? They did one at New years this year!

  • shut up, its quality tele. get a life

  • I felt that Ground Force ripped this off.

vic: "have you ever been to bali with anneka rice?? i have."

  • i so loved this program was great seen her do a one off program at christmas why cant they bring it back tv was at its best with aneka rice

  • i used to watch this with my grandad on a saturday cos im from a broken home and my mum would be out on the lash with her pals at the weekends lol

  • TV ark is a disgrace now!

  • Comment removed

  • It's a pity they couldn't bring the program back. I use to enjoy it even just as a young boy.

  • Okay, just realised I got this confused with Treasure Hunt...tee hee! Silly Me!

  • I remember watching this with my dad...I didnt always get it and hated the boring map reader people, but still enjoyed Annekka jogging around bothering people with questions.

  • i like the theme music from 00:16 onwords

  • great theme tune all tv shows i like had great theme tunes like brookie eastenders fun house and many more

  • Just shows that every decent theme tune was created in the 80s - Challenge Anneka, A-Team, Brookside, Howards Way, Doctor Who (through the 80s).

  • i was 8 when this programme finished but i remember absolutely loving it!

  • hi remember this programe well. remember the hedgehog crossing in the titles . did they give the hedgehog reading lessons as well so they would know not to use the heghog subway . no they didnt so what a waste of time that was .poor little hedgehogs. as programe got too ms in it .need to go to hedhog school .lol.
