  • thumbs up if you searched normal part of youtube cause u were in a part of youtube that ur not suppose to be in...

  • Great explanation*

    Top Quality*

    5*

    nice tutorial^^

  • im angry i can do this type of sidekick but not a high one.

  • no prob man, lol

i remember i used to have a perfect side, at waist level, within 6 months( with lots of work) i can side kick a 6'3 dude

all you need is pracgtise, within a month youll be kicking chest, then head, etc :)

  • do u have any stretches or exercises that u would recommend to help me raise my kicks higher?

  • I'd suggest doing a stretch program for yourself, repeat every day you can. And slow slow technique training. Try putting targets on wall and slowly kicking them. Waist training helps a lot so try raising your knee always up high.

  • ok i will do. Thx and umm ill definitly tell ya how it goes <(^-^).

  • @hakuboshi1

just lean back a little while keeping you back straight.leaning back makes it easier to gain height.

  • @hakuboshi1 I wouldn't worry about that, sidekicks are best suited to mid section or lower.

  • @IvyMartialArts k :D still need to work on legs :P Am currently doing I want six pack abs workout though YOUTUBE IT

  • Never thought to throw this kick from the reaar leg. thanks!

  • 1:14 time to wash your feet or buy some tkd shoes! :)

  • You're probably the only worrying about a bit dirt under the feet...

  • Cool, Top class video.

All the best on any more you do.

    Nicely presented and explained.

  • One of my favourites : D thanks

  • Anderson Silva used that kick many times in his last fight.

  • Cung Le uses this like a jab. Very effective.

  • Good point.

  • You need to cut out the step forward before executing the kick. It's a bad habit that students can catch. It's a bad habit becuase you are telegraphing the kick before you can execute it. Props on pivoting on the ball of you foot verses the heel. Also props on pointing out the correct alignment for the sidekick.

  • Very nice, as ussually. Please put more Taekwondo drills videos. The footwork one is very good.

  • cheers! excellente work!

  • Kyryllo, you really do make the best kicking tutorials

  • This is great stuff. Is it the same when you kick with the lead leg?

  • My TKD master always said to rotate on the heel rather than the toes, but I find that very difficult. kyryllo, do you find it makes much difference?

  • Over 32 years, I have trained with 5 different instructors. They all said to turn on the ball of your foot.

I had one student who turned on his heel. His kick was very poor as he had incorrect body alignment and was not able to balance when kicking slowly (as in this tutorial). I taught him to turn on his toes.

I am not surprised you find the heel turn difficult. Perhaps you misunderstood your teacher.

  • It may be that I misunderstood. I have never turned on my heel because I never could get it to work. I think I'll stick with turning on the ball of the foot. Thanks.

  • can u also show how this can be used in sparring?:)

  • It'll come in the following chapters.

  • @kyryllo still waiting for the sidekick shown in sparring...

  • alright, thanks alot for the tips guys!

  • Awesome editing

  • Man, you are just a sniper with that kick haha Good stuff!

  • cool 5 stars thank you for sharing may i ask what editing tool you use?

  • nice tutorial!

could you post some videos showing us how to increase our balance please?

  • IMO strengthening your caffs and all the muscles in and around your legs will help.

  • kick slower with proper technique like he's doing when demonstrating at the beginning

  • Good stuff. For increased balance an flexibility watch this watch?v=hmO04tgdNvA&feature=related

  • stand on one leg while executing different kicks slowly with the other leg. i know it's hard but try doing it for about one minute for each kick and on each side. you will be surprised how effective this is. i tell you, it worked wonders from me.
