Bought this pedal brand new, then found a used one. Wanted to return the new one but instead, decided to put 2 X12AX7 in the used one (it comes stock with 2 X12AY7). Loved it so much that I kept both!! :-))
We now use 'ehx' when we can (eg, our web site domain, in YouTube, MySpace, Twitter, etc.) -- if you were accustomed to one of our older accounts, I can understand that it might be confusing at first -- but in the long run I do think you'll find that this makes more sense.
Also, our new account has noticeably higher quality videos as compared to the older accounts.
I'm looking for a thinner distortion pedal that works well for getting lost in lots of reverb and echo (with single coils, an AVRI Jazzmaster). I think this might be the one.
they're a bit pricey...around 180 i think...but my god well worth it....the most amazing distortion pedal I've ever played.... I think it would sound amazing through a twin reverb.... really versatile pedal
Love that feedback!

To me:
2 X 12 AX7 ==> pretty good with humbuckers!
2 X 12AY7 ==> loves a Strat!

frubbo 2 years ago

this is a preamp too. im gonna have to check this out. but for right now i think i have enough distortion pedals. haha. big muff, ds2, and a ds1. lol
GuitarLord71 2 years ago
How does the preamp work? Will the amp slave to the pedal?
Ackmutt 2 years ago
There's no such thing as enough distortion pedals!

Great pedal. I have a 57 Strat and it sounds amazing through a Blues Jr. My most favourite pedal on my board by far. Blues tones galore.

How much are they? Sounds great with this 65 amp. Wonder what it would do for a twin reverb?

@spnkthru well, second hand the price varies around 100 and 130 I think.

Not too pricey, considering the quality and versatility. Always good deals on these on ebay.
