the communications companies will monopolize this industry and make it unaffordable as they always do. This technology should be free for all and sponsored and paid for by the state you reside in.

so the role of the state govt is to take money from the rich and use it to provide fast mobile data for everyone. should those same folks be taken from to provide the phones and data cards also?

problem when you take from the rich, is that they are also usually the biggest employers. maybe you hate your employer, but you still need a job. take from rich sounds good to the poor, but then there won't be any jobs left.

it IS fair for a company to make a HUGE investment and then turn a profit!!

Did you know that many of the soon-to-be unused analog TV towers around the country MAY be used to deploy Wimax on a LARGE scale? I think Wimax is the way to get high-speed into VERY rural areas. I have DSL which is pretty good for me, but many people aren't that lucky.

i use P1 wimax and its 100 times faster than fucking screamyx...i pay 99 ringgit for 1.2 meg.And you can recieve 1 meg all the time.Switch to wimax and have stress free time.

i use both..wimax in college and streamyx in my house..

lol of course streamyx is better because it's wired provider.. i agree if your compare with celcom/maxis broadband.. in ths section, wimax is sure be the winner.. but not with streamyx.. hoho..

i use WIMAX its not the best but i can play world of warcraft on it have have around 300 to 400ms about the same as dial up but download speeds are 10billion times faster lol i run at 800down/250up for $35USD wish i could get dsl are cable but this will do :)

Anyway, my $256.00 per month WiMax quote for 512kb/sec WiMax from TowerStream will not survive our Budgetary review process for a backup line based on your weak and lame argument that 3G is "yesterday"..

Lead Batteries are yesterday, but %99.9 of all Fortune 500 Companies still use them in their Enterprise UPS Systems.

Harddrives are "Yesterday" but EMC, Hitachi and HP still use them in their Quarter Million Dollar SANS.
