My suggestion is yes do what the cops say and put a no trespassing also make sure your dog has an ID. Oh ya dont leave your dog unattended in your yard. Keep all records of the dog day you bought it etc, and most important get it microchip that way if its stolen there is a better chance you can get it back. Best of luck!
