In Hellmuth sleazy world poker would only consist of 8 cards and you can only call if you pair them. This man is an idiot. Poker is a psychological game and IMO cards only mean 10%.
One rag I have with the way Helmuth played this hand.
Once before, in High Stakes poker, holding A4 against A10 (Negreanu), he basically gave away his hand by saying "I think you got QQ's." In this hand he says, "I think you go AQ".
In the Negreanu hand, he was read for a weak Ace. In this hand unlikely, but it's possible that Dragomir does put Hellmuth on AK and calls to outdraw. Not ragging Hellmuth. Simply underestimates players too much and give info away that's not necessary.

Dragomir is not an idiot - he played that hand perfect, with the exception of the initial raise to 80k with the 10 4, which over such a long tournament isn't bad to play occasionally, for exactly situations like this.
so your saying that calling a reraise with 104 suited is a good call against phil hellmuth a notoriusly tight player and is definatly a better player post flop then dragmoir is a good decison.
i have a good understanding of poker i play alot online,whenever i have spaare time basically,but i dont call a reraise with a bad hand cuz its my "favortie hand" because thats not a good play.

AND YOU CHECK? If Dragomir has a small pair, he might actually fold on this flop! Since you are representing a high pair, AT LEAST pocket Jacks! Do you expect a check-raise opportunity? SERIOUSLY?

@simonjeste, Phil is an amazing tournament player. He goes deep in many tournaments. That's why you see him on TV so much. Seriously, I don't see 90% of the other pros as much as I do Phil, and it is because of his tournament NL hold 'em skills. And what I meant by "get beat" is not necessarily where or when he gets booted, but how. A bad beat is the best way to see Phil get it, because he kind of brings it on himself.

Well, i think phil talked too much, and gave away his hand.
Dragomir could know, that he has AK or at least no big pair, and if there is no A or K on the flop, and he hits his 10 or 4, he can win this hand.
Hellmuth talked too much, and btw, if the flop misses you, it doesnt give you permission to call your opponent idiot.
I agree, it was a risky call, but sometimes it pays off, i know bluffing has its risks, but if you want to take the risks, its your money...

Dragomir is not an idiot - he played that hand perfect, with the exception of the initial raise to 80k with the 10 4, which over such a long tournament isn't bad to play occasionally, for exactly situations like this.

so your saying that calling a reraise with 104 suited is a good call against phil hellmuth a notoriusly tight player and is definatly a better player post flop then dragmoir is a good decison.
i have a good understanding of poker i play alot online,whenever i have spaare time basically,but i dont call a reraise with a bad hand cuz its my "favortie hand" because thats not a good play.
calling as 67% underdog isnt in my general play book when im always behind against a tight player

Mike knew what those couple things were, and that's why he was calling for "3 8 offsuit or something." He wasn't surprised at all by the 10 4, and neither would I have been.
