  • <-- Learning... Phil Ivey never said call, and turned over his hand, why is his hand not dead?

  • super unlucky guy negreanue lol.

every street best play,,,, but result is bad .

  • all these comments... so intelligent... so eloquently describing what otherwise translates to "herp derp"

  • see how phil doesnt actually say 'i call' he just turn shis cards over,,,i seen a guy mumble quietly "ok i call" and flips his cards up.....the dealer assumed he said "ok i fold" and gave the chips to the other player....it wasnt reversed either even tho it was the dealers fault

  • Tough spot to be in. Flop a straight, no flush draw on the flop, except for maybe hearts but no heart appeared so a straight seemed to be the strongest hand. I've lost money in an almost similar way.

  • instafold

  • too bad daniel didn't have the 3/2 clubs... ivey would've been... WTF.. lol

  • @jbolton04 2/3 clubs isnt a stright flush lol, 5 3 of clubs or 5 8 of clubs is a flush

  • @WinAllDay It was late at night when I posted the comment! LOL

  • Dam

  • Thumbs up for know-it-all poker comments on youtube but yet here they are......on youtube instead of winning millions like they should be 0_o

  • 4 people have been backdoor flushed.

  • Were they joping or do they have prop bets on the table? I Heard them say "Isee it" but no one paid them. Prop pot already established somwhere else on the table?

  • Lucky River

  • Season? Episode?

  • HAHA....Ivey doesnt even say call he just flips his cards lmao

  • Daniels face as he sees the flush!

  • A,2,3,4,5,6,7.

    That's like a super-straight.

  • @TarWoman versus a flush - Ivey wins...

  • Phil Ivey: Favorite player to watch and learn from P:

  • shiiiiit

  • Even Daniel couldn't see what was going to happen there

  • Poker etiquette question: Ivey asks, "You all in, Daniel?" and then flips his cards. I watched his mouth closely and he never said "call" or moved his chips. I guess there's nothing technically wrong with it, but I don't see that going over very well at the local poker hall... thoughts?

  • @truthsmiles it wouldve been appropriate to say "call" then show the hand, but daniel and ivy knew each other for a long time..and ivy at that point didnt have to announce call because he already showed daniel the nuts ie, the best possible hand, so he didtnt have to push chips in because he knew that no matter what daniels hand was, he was taking his chips with the nut flush..but still i think announcing call was more appropriate.

  • @o0DeadSpaceFan0o actually ivey didn't have the nuts there, 3 5 of clubs or 5 8 of clubs is the straight flush option. so 3rd nuts

  • blackbeltpoker (dot) com/refer/gaLcH1/?page=%2Fcommunity%2Fregister%2F

  • Don't think I'm all in there after getting called down on a board like that.

Besides the flush there was also a chance of a higher straight out there.

Tough spot to be in, & he knows Ivey's not calling with air.

I know why he pushed there though. I think he felt like he could be beat, but he was pot committed with only 35k left, ( a half-pot sized river bet leaves him with 15k) and he figured that it was better to push (hoping Ivey folds) than get raised all in.

    Same result either way.

  • @IPushHard Ivey has played it like a heart flush draw and therefore Daniel is not worried by the clubs at all. The only hand Daniel loses to bar a flush on the river is 8x and there aren't many of those in Ivey's range that he would call a check raise with and a 2nd barrel except maybe A8 or 8xhh. Daniel has played it perfectly and he got unlucky on the river. Ivey is definitely calling with worse on that river, hands such as 44/55 and some two pair combos.

  • @Brocky8000

If I were in the (Daniel) hand, I would have considered the heart flush draw but I couldn't put Ivey on it based soley on how he played it. Ivey flops top pair with a decent kicker, and just calls the check raise (which is usually how top pair would play that flop). He turns the flush draw so he's not folding the hand regardless, especially considering Daniels stack size. If Daniel pushed on the turn? ..the results are the same regardless. Hand played itself.

  • @Brocky8000 NO way ivey would have played 44, 55, and most of his two pairs like that. The board on the turn is too coordinated, he def raises the turn with sets, two pairs such as A7, A5, A4 (i could see him just calling the turn with 45, and then folding any bad rivers, and i guess he COULD have 4h7h). with that river, any two pairs that he JUST called the turn with he folds, as well as Ax. There are NO hands that call daniel's shove that daniel beats. it either backdoor clubs or 8hXh

  • @glennsf he only shoved the river cause he is out of position and didnt wanna have to make a decision when phil ivey goes all in with less(even though he is not folding his striaght on the river if he checked to phil) there is no way he is getting away from his hand no matter how the last two streets went because he is pot commited pretty much after the turn bet with a huge hand that isnt beat on the turn like almost ever. so its just unlucky for daniel both they both played the hand perfect.

  • @marcs101 I disagree. He still has a little less than a pot sized bet left on the river. Yeah he has a huge hand on the turn, but that's a horrible river. When he shoves, it's basically a bluff. What value hands that he beats call there? If he checks, all value hands he is beating check behind, unless phil ivey is just in god mode, puts daniel on exactly what he has, and turns two pair/set into a bluff (which I'll grant you, could happen since it's phil.) I still think cf/cc on r is best.

  • @glennsf if he cc on the river its not gonna be cheaper than his whole stack(on the bet from ivey). daniel even says he wasnt going to get away from the striaght anyways on the river(i think he meant if he was to check). cf could happen, but what kind sick read puts phil ivey on a backdoor flush? on the flop its clear he has a big ace...even though he dont...haha blah i dont think he is folding a straight ever come on....your just a nit to check fold in this spot.

  • @IPushHard You describe the push as a bluff, but Ivey is never folding a better hand here. I think the push is actually for value. Ivey shows up with a lot of aces up type combinations that will call. However, the prop betting does complicate things. Ivey has props for red flops so he is more likely to limp with black cards. That makes the value bet thinner, but like you said, Daniel probably felt committed.

  • @IPushHard Daniel should not be worried about the straight or flush. He knew exactly where he was in the hand. When ivey has not raised the flop or turn he must have Ace or Aces up. Ivey would raise a set or the made straight ( 23 or 36 ). Daniel knows that he loses to Ace 8 or suited ace but he also knows that this will only be about 12% of the time so he should bet for value. If he checks then Ivey checks back most of the time with his Ace or Aces up. It simply comes down to the maths.

  • boobS!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • this croupier must make a decent amont of money ! It's allways him !

  • I want to run my hand through Ivey's hair.

  • Bet and get called only by better hands, without chasing worse ones away. Check/call and beat some bluffs also. Easy for me to say, chilling behind my screen, but still...

  • Wow DN what are u doing? u go all in with the low straight on a 3 flush board + 4 straight board omg...

  • @Yeyah34 Shut up

  • @DrDemo all u had to say? the river bet is soo fishy he is never getting called by worse haha

  • @Yeyah34 Ok du har ret din svenska AIK fan

  • Video should be called 'Daniel flops a straight and Phil top pair and then Phil runners the nut flush with Daniel shipping the river OOP for $110k pot' cos then I wouldn't need to watch it at all.

  • @Jibberish519 guessing you never read the heading. You're a bigger dipshit evidently than someone ripping the piss out of the heading cos you ain't even bright enough to see that.

  • Comment removed

  • @Jibberish519 wow you must have an incredibly small penis to be so angry.

  • Comment removed

  • @Jibberish519 Such an immature comment. I pity you.

  • @Shiplodicus your weird, stop harassing me

  • @WillyMcWilliness Whats OOP?

  • @volks77 He means 'out of position' as in acting first with Mr Ivey to act behind you therefore with you having no information to act upon on that street.

  • @WillyMcWilliness That title would be too long.

  • Sick call on the river :p

  • hahahhahaha Danella got OWNED!

  • @mongration - having someone get lucky on you by hitting runner runner isn't exactly getting owned.

  • @mongration you mom get OWNED ! right?

  • Thought he Daniel should have played more aggressively on the turn. Agree?

  • @JimNero009 completely agree. He should have bet at least the pot.

  • @JimNero009 Nah. Played it right, got unlucky, shit happens.

  • @JimNero009 no

  • @JimNero009 he did raise each street. normally dan checks river safely and if phil moves in call.

  • @JimNero009 Not at all, with that board texture I would put Ivey on 2 pair at best and want to keep him in the hand. After the 3 bet on the flop Negreanu ruled out any gut shot or open ended draws and certainly a back door flush draw. That was just bad luck.

  • @JimNero009 how can you bet more then the pot on the present nut

  • Brutal!

  • can i ask why they call it nut flush?

  • @LiveTheHighLifeKUSH because if u have the ace of any suit it is the highest flush thats why they call it the nuts you dont have to worry about a higher flush thats why u have the nutsack flush

  • @LiveTheHighLifeKUSH best possible hand

  • why wasnt Daniel scared by an higher straight too?

  • @favy086 The way the hand played it is very unlikely that Phil has an eight in his hand when calling a bet on the flop. It makes sense to go all in for Daniel with a stack less than the pot, because the most likely hands Phil can have is an ace, and then sometimes a heart draw and less likely an open ended that became two pair. He can beat all of these, get value from some and lose almost only to A8 or a backdoor flush and these are a lot less likely.

  • thats what happens when you play 2 3 off

  • @lg123xyz people backdoor flush you? thats what happens? ... lol and when you play ace 9 suited you backdoor flush? gimme a break genius he played that hand perfect, and got unlucky

  • @haddsouzaHD Hey man just cuz you like to get flushed in your backdoor doesn't mean we all do bitch

  • has anyone noticed that lately negreanu is getting popped most of the time?

  • @Salibs

yea, but only because he is the unluckiest player in PAD and HSP BY FAR... and this vid is another great example that proves it...

  • Two Favorite poker players

  • wow that sucked !!!!!!

  • Daniel is always unlucky

  • actually its a good card for daniel

its better than a J of clubs for example because then he wouldve had a wheel straight and would easier make the call i think

  • @xELxSOBREVIVIENTEx J of clubs wouldn't have made any difference. It would still turn out like it did. That 7 of clubs on the end or any other club on the end would have folded me though.

  • If Hellmuth backdoored a flush everyone at the table would be like "oh what a lucky a-hole" but because its Ivey no one says anything

  • wow, patrick antonius, phil ivey, gus hansen and daniel negreanu. one hell of a table, all my fav players, negreanu being my all time fav.

  • @killingj0ke23 and hellmuth....

  • @RedRooooster but i dont like hellmuth all that much...so...

  • pfft, i backdoored a straight flush 5-9, had 78 of spades in my hand other dude had a 9+? and flop came 696 with a 6 of spades, turn came 5 of spades, for straight and i was like yeah i own him, then river came the 9 of spades and i was LOL, he bet i went all in and he called, showed a 9 for the "nut" boat and i said i have the nuts and flipped over straight flush lollollllololol.

  • @OUSOONERSFTW no one gives a shit

  • the call on the turn with 20% outs was not profitable for phil, but he got his lucky

  • @Suspectization you realize that he doesn't see the little % numbers, right?

  • in any cash table at any casino after a player moves all in and the other player (WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING) flips over his/her cards is a FOLD. Apparently just because he's a pro it means a CALL when he flips it over without saying anything.. -___-

  • @jaelim90 Private cash games are very different, they mostly agree between themselves of the rules.

  • @jaelim90 in a friendly cash game, which is what this is, you can show your cards at any time, its a psychological game as much as it is a math game and a luck game

  • @jaelim90 Thats very incorrect. If a pot is heads up and there is no action behind the possible all in caller, he can turn his hand face up while he decides what to do. Only if he says fold is it a fold unless he throws his cards in the muck face up.

  • if what happened is not told in the title, then the video wouldn't hit as many views as it compared to not explained video in the title!

  • lucky negro...

  • Dudes, Ivey is very very lucky! You might be the best player in the world, if you don't have luck, you just loose.

This hand was quite simple: Ivey noticed Negreanu has straight from the FLOP, but then when we saw on TURN he might make FLUSH, then he risked it and at the RIVER he got what he wanted. Plus that he had ACE, so he was 100% sure he'll win.

Ivey has luck, I like more Negreanu because is more rational sometimes.

  • Ivey !! you are my Idol !!

  • Daniels so unlucky all the time, maybe pokerstars' rigged shit messed him up

  • Negreanu gets unlucky AGAIN. He was betting the right amounts on the flop & turn too.

  • love how ivey doesnt even say call ... he just turns over the 2nd nutz

  • @akmd114379 3rd nuts

  • @starcityoldy yea i forgot 5 8 clubs nutz ... 3 5 clubs 2nd nutz

  • @akmd114379

tehcnially ivey has the 2nd nuts in this situation.. since 58 and 35 both require 5 of clubs. so there would have only been 1 person that could beat him... but A high flush is good enough for all in in any case

  • thumbs up if you hate poker videos that explain what will happen in the title!

  • @kervyrx7 That's the reason we watch the videos in the first place. Because of the titles.

  • @kervyrx7 Didn't you click the link? Or were you off site and the title wasn't visible there

  • @kervyrx7 thats probably the only reason you watched the video

  • @kervyrx7 Alright genius, if they weren't titled as such. How would you distinguish between the millions of poker clips out there?

  • @kervyrx7

i think u mean title that explains the outcome of the video

  • daniel gets so unlcuky sometimes

  • @ispdee7644

Sounds like a plan.. I can spare 30 bucks my full tilt poker username is randon5196 =)

    And yeah

Full Tilt Poker just disclosed on their facebook page that a new player can head on over to FTPs website, then register an account with the code AMERICAS.

I think it's the preferred way if your a beginner to start playing.. Make a deposit and they DOUBLE it + multiple other nice perks. Its only going work for the first 1000 players that register with it

  • @NegreanuDan87 spam

  • Phil Ivey is runs too good..

  • spicy card

  • fuck sry hehe I didnt notice

  • Daniels river shove is pretty baaaaad.

  • hitman negreanu was all in you fucking moron.. it only says it on the video.. oh my god how stupid can you get.. it took you more time to write the stupid comment than it would of taken you to watch the video.. lol wow.. look up idiot and you will see hitman1919 as your answer.

  • Why Phil Ivey didnt reraise on river he had nuts ... it was hes kindness or what ?(of course nuts besides straight flush....)

  • @hitman1919 huh? Daniel went all in, he can't re-raise

  • Daniel should be used to being backdoored.

  • @bannedagainfromutube Negreanu, Tom Dwan and Dario Mineri are all used to being backdoored, usually with their consent.

  • This was a EPIC TABLE.

  • @StaticDonut Get PH out of there. Get some Viffer or Antonius. Ooh, Laak.

  • @StaticDonut

    an*

  • the pain of being oop

  • @gollywogthegreat fuck you retard!

  • Is it ok to limp in first in the pot? Ivey does it all the time and internet players on twoplustwo say that you should always raise when you are first in the pot and they are very opinionated.

  • @srki22 Ivey knows more than anyone, if he's doin it, theres a reason!

  • @Bladen12345 This is a ridiculous comment. True, Ivey's hand was better preflop, but you make it sound like the best hand preflop should always win, no matter what happens on further streets. So someone with aces should call everything no matter what the board looks like? No, you still have to think about possible hands your opponent could have. You just have to admit Ivey got lucky here, but thats poker, can't really blame him. You can see it on Ivey's face that he also feels he got lucky.

  • negreanu always flops a straight and looses

  • @gollywogthegreat what did u say? average player? fukin idiot u would never fold this hand so shut the fuck up donkey

  • @gollywogthegreat howis he just an 'average player'?

  • If daniel flops the nuts he should just fold in future from watching some of his other videos. lol

  • lol, ivey's like... 'u're all in daniel?' and flips over his cards without moving a chip. that's what i call a balla.

  • @postflopper

yeah ivey did that because he was ashamed and out of respect for daniel.. so nothing balla about that at all.. ivey's just human and daniel and ivey are friends

  • Daniel played it near perfect to be honest, its just one of those hands that couldn't have turned out any different. I guess you can make a case for not going all-in on the river but that would just give Ivey a chance to take away the pot with a worse hand.

  • Umm if all you donks want to talk about is luck, remember: Ivey had the best hand pre-flop. Statistically speaking, he should win. Oh and guess what -- he did.

  • ivey should of folded the flop but poker after dark likes to give him those runner runner flushes i guess.

  • @fliptthescript Why should he fold, maybe daniel was poppin it up with hearts?

  • teh commentator of PAD is such a fucking boring fag! I HATE HIM! Get Kaplin there :D

  • luuuuuuuuuuuulzzzz

  • wat a table

  • Poor Negreanu :(

Guy flops the best hand every time and just catches bad cards.

  • well at the end he couldn't have made a value bet cuz there is 42k in the pot and he has 35 left, so he was pretty much pot committed, it's really easy to comment from here saying it was bad play. And i mean the guy 'unpredictable' says Daniel should've bet hard on the turn, i mean when you flop a straight you want to get value, and it rly looke like Ivey had the ace, but bad beat is just bad beat, and i mean you cant fold every time the board gets scary, it's a mistake in the long run

  • "every flop someone says 'i see it'" classic line by Phil

  • call me donk or micro staker or whatever, but i dont think mister iveys intuition got him the runner runner he just played top pair

  • Poor fella he looked so sad! lol

  • Just by how daniel plays I know he hates Ivey. Hes always tries to best him. Daniels problem is that he does very stupid things when he plays Ivey and thats how Ivey wins. Im a huge Negreanu fan becasue were both cards readers. His (just like mine) main problem is hes focuses on beating a single person as oppose to winning against that person. In turn he'll never win/beat Phil Ivey until he relizes Ivey is just a man. lol.

  • @newphoenix84 I agree. ON the latest high stakes poker he was constantly bothered by Dwan that he always felt compelled to call even when he knew he was beat. I know Negreanu is like the good guy of poker, but this guy is almost as bad as Hellmuth sometimes, he steams like no other.

  • If Daniel is a good poker reader . he should have folded after seeing the 3 clubs ..!! Phil is the man

  • @megadeth171souls like he had a choice to fold

  • hahahahah thatss pretty bad rape. isnt daniel supposed to be good? retarded. should of put mreo pressure after flop, tons of presure at turn. newb play. i wonder about some of these "pros".

  • @UnpredlctabIe dude ur a idiot daniel woulda take all of ur money so fast thats just runner runner no way he could see that

  • @Raheyna888 newb, dont refer to me on these sites. are you blind or can u see. anyone who knows what poker is observed that had to be the dumbest play by daniel. i dont type crap, i back it up. anyoen could say anything but i would destroy u at poker, and rob daniel if he played like that against me, every hand. come play against me at full tilt, pokerstars or carbon, and ill show u what i mean

  • @UnpredlctabIe SO U WOULD'VE GOT AWAY FROM RUNNER RUNNER CLUBS? DON'T THINK SO.

  • @Raheyna888 and dont toss names online u moron =), get off daniels dick and watch people who know how to play ( brunson, ivey, dwan, chan etc)

  • yeah bad all in ivey could have an A8 or even the flush i think daniel should make a value bet but not going all in.

  • woww!!!
