  • haha good work bay, love the advert mate

  • The troubled life of a man who can't even look at a tree without fantasizing about beer.

  • Thumbs if you saw this actor on crimewatch the other day, he played the violent rapist who stuck ring pulls up girls. Why or how he got work in a beverage advert puzzles me. Anyway, here's to bad casting!

  • This advert makes the beer look so watered down. Still tasty though

  • this guy's such an alky, dreaming of a pint of carling, it's all he cares about. he needs help.

  • It's teh guy from Propane Nightmares!

  • What happened to the good english beers

  • I used to love carling. Now for some reason I can't stand the taste of it. Probably because I've been drinking cider for a few months, I guess the taste buds change to whatever you're supping at the time. It's too bad that it's so hard to get a good lager on tap these days, it's either this or that rat piss that they market as Fosters.

  • Is this the same guy who's in the Polycell ad? He's gorgeous!

  • pan down to six empty lager cans knocking around his feet...pathetic

  • This advert is not bad, but nothing would make me want a Carling. They have somehow made it taste like coins. One of the worst lagers in my opinion

  • Oldschoolrasslin obvs a pathetic lowlife

  • People please support Alice Gold and spread the word! she's awesome.

  • fab

  • what a shit advert. People that drink carling and like pubs like this are tossers.

  • Got this stuck in my head after seeing the advert at Emirates Carling Cup Game today. I blame you Carling!

  • Does no-one else watch this and think this guy is an alcoholic?

  • I found a place full of chocolate

  • This is more like a cologne advert than one for a beer, doesnt sell it to me at all!!!

  • fosters tastes better js :)

  • @logun94

    .

Carling and Fosters are both for school kids. Try a proper drink like Leffe or Duvel.

  • how do i get this song

  • @MrMashyboi it's available on iTunes now - it's called 'Wondrous Place' by Alice Gold

  • @carlinglageruk thakx

  • hey!!! I am the footballer in the commercial you can see more of my work on my youutbe page JAMONE01 - love this ad!!

  • Full Song + Lyrics: v=p6lqDdLaxvw

  • What song is this

  • @Johnson500able Alice Gold - Wondrous place - full song here: v=p6lqDdLaxvw

  • Best ad of 2011. Shame it's advertising alcohol..

  • why do you have to be 18 to view this?

  • @PREMusicboy Thanks.

  • Parts of this song sound like a rip off of 'Love Potion Number Nine'

  • Anyone know what this song is?

  • @librakitten16 Wondrous Place, originally by Billy Fury (I prefer the Fury version), look it up on Youtube.

  • @KJC1975 Thank you!

  • Yeh! Liverpool St - Ipswich Buffet Car every night !

  • 1) alcoholic sits on train 2) water droplets on the window remind him of lager and he thinks about beer for the whole journey 3) he gets off the train and goes straight to the pub for pint.

  • The ad's very slick, but as someone has already remarked, it seems bizarre to choose a song that's so recently been used for another product. On top of that, the young lady's version of the song is, with respect, complete pants, compared to the celebrated, brilliant Billy Fury version, or even the Jimmy Jones original. AND FINALLY (!) with an ad with so many references to Englishness, why choose an American song? Ah well, as long as ir sells the product!

  • Alice Gold tweeted me earlier - she said it will be available to download either later this week or next week :D

  • Where can I get the song?!?!?!?

  • give me the bloody song!!!

  • Thought the full version of this would have been on here by now. It's soooooooo good. Check out the Last Shadow Puppets version...

  • would love to find the full cover of this song - it is so good

  • Alice Gold; Wondrous Place! Beautiful voice :)

.. Yeah, and the drink isn't half bad. Suppose.

  • Sad to see the demise of the five friends. Much preferred.

  • can't find this cover of wondrous place anywhere!!

anyone know if there's a full song available

  • who is the actor in this advert ?

  • @boukmanwarrior his names marc baylis i think!!

  • @MrFrankrocks99 thanks mate

  • i used to really like carling, but it's tasted like piss for the past 8 months.........& thats experience from 10+ different pubs

  • Download link for the song?

  • @TwistedxxTransistor the track is available on iTunes now!

  • The advert looks really slick! Really nice music to it as well.

  • Alice Gold, I'm happy for you and I'mma let you finish, but Billy Fury did the best version of 'Wondrous Place' of all time. OF ALL TIME!

  • @TheMissMod Hilarious :)

  • Round the corner from my house, The Talbot lol. What the fuck happened to hackney man.

  • hasnt this song been on a car advert before

  • good ad but billy fury is better singer then this woman

  • very creative and smart ad. the billy fury song has been very well done. i hope it is released.

  • @crazy1fat8boy - The name of the song is on the video description - Alice Gold covering Wondrous Place. Cool eh?!

  • does anyone know the name of this track, i can't get it outta my head???

  • Great piece of film and a refreshing change for Carling for me...nice to see the subtle use of everything thats British in there too :) great beers deserve great representation...keep it up!

  • I'm surprised that you've used the same song as Toyota used for the Yaris. As soon as I heard it, I thought of that brilliant ad - Billy Fury's version of the song is so much better, as well.
