  • That's not italian.

That's how people speak in the south of Italy. Even here there is something like your "Yankee vs Ploughman", and that's the way our Ploughmen speak.

  • @Mercuzio1988 exactly terroni di merda

  • @Mercuzio1988 its calabrese which is italian dialect from Calabria, Italy

  • At my Aunt Paulas wedding! It was time to do the speeches at a bunch of telegrams came in from italy! My dad and my uncles though because the telegrams were a really boring part of the wedding, they decided to spice it up! So my uncle Fab was going to translate the Italian. Someone would read the telegram bit by bit and the translation went like this: "When you were a ittle girl - WHENA YOU WEREA LITTLEA GIRL!!!! ---meh funny italian story

  • Ow my god..what a classic.soooooo true! lol

  • @TheEndofdays311 Nonno/a is a grandfather in Italian lol

  • He forgot the part where italians hold the mic as if it was a phone.

  • si ma negli anni 50...quando gli immigrati del sud italia sbarcavano in america...adesso personalmente io non parlerei così

  • @TheEndofdays311 yeah it is ive been to a mexican wedding very funny and beautiful

  • Thats what happened at my parents wedding, my nonno and other nonno did that. HILARIOUS!!

  • I can't stop LMAO!!!This is soo true!

  • that is DEAD ON!

  • that is DEAD ON!

  • So funny! But it doesn't happen everywhere in Italy because there are so many different traditions that change from north to south, from region to region ;)

  • OMFG!!! an italian with an aussie accent sounds so wrong!

  • Joe Avati has not much contact with italy, evidently. I'm from italy and wha he says deries from an approximative knowledge of the Italian immigrants

  • man arabs and italians are so alike

  • @aalsmadi1 It depends on really where the italians come from. People from sicily or calabria have arabic ancesters hence their chararistics are compairable. If you look at the north, you find that people are more likely to be french like or sweadish like. The most indegeanous Italians are from Tuscany. For more info, I suggest for you to do some reserch.

  • @ExploraOfLife123 It depends on how much you really know about history my little Morisco.People from Sicilia were mainly Greek in byzantium era. Then the dark skinned muslims captured the western side of the island around 8th century. They introduced islam and their crops. By 11th centuty the Normans defeated the infidels. The latins kept their identity during occupation. For Calabria the arabs marched as far inland as Cosenza in 9th century and turned back.Any Arab settlements were destroyed.

  • @aalsmadi1 This is not true you Yalla Yalla. Italians are Latino. Yes you do have some villages of mixed ancestory but majority are of latin descent. We thank the kind Normans from driving the Saracens ' infidels' from Sicilia and parts of the mainland from 1015 or so.Viva la Rasa.

  • ommmgg thatttttsss fuucckkiinnggg hiillarriouuuusss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • TOO DAMN FUNNY!

  • I'm italian and I love him!! He's very funny

  • hilarious interpretation... just great! he can also speak a good italian (i should say sicilian)!

  • @sagagemini86

    He speaks Calabrese, not Sicilian!

  • @calbreez both sicilian and calabrese share the same linguistic roots, they sound alike if you're not italian.

  • @Wedhro

I know they sound similar if you're not Italian, or even if you're from the north of Italy. As you can tell from my screen name, my background is Calabrese. The dialect Joe Avati speaks is from a town in Calabria, not far from where my parents come from.

  • @calbreez I'm from Puglia (I mean, born and living there) so I can tell the difference between southern dialects, no way I could mistake calabrese for sicilian! Just givin a simple explanation for sagagemini86's mistake.

  • @calbreez hai ragione è calabrese... talvolta si assomigliano così tanto!

  • @calbreez What's Calabrese? And where do they speak it?

  • @SanguinaryStrife

Calabrese is an Italian dialect which is spoken in Calabria, a region in the south of Italy. These days the dialects are dying out, as everyone speaks "proper" Italian, but the dialects are kept alive by Italian migrants in countries like Australia, the US, and Canada.

  • @calbreez I don't think dialect are dying... Well... not in this century...

  • @SanguinaryStrife they speak it in calabria, italy , it is an italian dialect

  • this guy fkn hilarious bro

  • I'm Italian and I approve this!

  • These are the jokes you all knew but didn't take it further, what a laugh well done Joe for doing it.

  • I love it.

  • lol. questo sta fuori oh !hahah

  • hahaha this is universal to italians all over the world lol

  • @foxpawz to people who understand the italian culture and language. not people who just call themselves something out of a barren label because they think they are something because some of their great-grandparents came from a place

  • That was fu..ing funny.

  • That is very true. Italians are known for talking with their hands. But my dad defends himself this way, "How else are you suppose to describe a spiral staircase?"

  • Ive been to weddings! AND OH MY GOD HOW TRUE THIS IS! This is so funny! My parents were cracking UP!

  • That Calabrese Aussie's hit the nail right on with this one...That's EXACTLY what happens.

  • Omgomgomg!!! hahahahahah!!! I burst out laughing as soon as he did that smiley face before the wedding speech!! LOL!

  • Its always good to laugh at ourselves; there's nothing wrong with that...it's the way of our culture and heritage. But we need to start respecting our differences and stop this feud between the North & South and the Sicilians & Calabrese. Forza Italia!!!

  • lmfaoo

  • i love italy & italian people

  • I'm an italian living abroad (UK) and i can only confirm all that, Joe Avati is great and is humor is just a true, sincere and honest portray of the average italian-whatever foreign country citizen. I hope one day Joe'll come to Italy performing in shows like Zelig or somenthing, he deserves it. Bravo Joe. Per gli italiani che non capiscono: Ragazzi,Joe fa del buon umorismo sincero tipo Franco Neri di Zelig, in nessun caso la sua satira offende l'Italia e il popolo italiano, anzi e' uno di noi.

  • I agree with strke69 and sensfantildeath, Im an aussie italian its great true funny commedy shit i kid about myself being a terrone, yep lighten up guys. part of the reason italys so fucked up , is that its not a united country , italy itself is its biggest enemy. if italians continue this silly where in italy are you from south your scum and north your scum it will never go forward. and thats really sad.

  • I was born and raised in Italy and now enjoy the American dream. This is funny shit.

  • Rosina Parmigianno from Calabria says; "Fuck all Northern Italian Prada bullshit elitist snobs!" Watch Rosina here on YouTube...she's too funny! (PS: Northern Italians go listen to your own shit because you wont understand our proud dialect.)

  • You and Rosina can fuck off. Coglioni.

  • heeeeey!!! i am calabrese!! right on brother! my father was born and raised in calabria and that is exactly what he has taught me..and oh yea sicilians...dont even think to step near me,...my father will have ur head on a platter lol

  • You got that right sexy Calabresa! The puke faced northern Italians love to come down to Calabria and Sicilia to have great sex with those horny southerners. My Calabrese & Siciliano friends tell me about all the Milanese women who leave their husbands and come down for sex vacations with the young hot southern guys. They love that Calabrese e Siciliano salziccia in da pulchiacchia!

  • i hate calabrians- im sicilian

  • Nice comments, we are all Italian, no matter which part you come from....... by the way Rosina, your not as funny since Pasquale left...............

  • Try telling that to Umberto Bossi and Lega Nord who promote the belief that southern Italians are subhuman! I dont see a Lega Sud - do you? Theyre not elitist, arrogant, exclusive and discriminatory in mentality.

    Pasquale gone? Who said?

  • then those people are idiots....Pasquale has stopped for now his comedy and is apperently a judge in Toronto.....enough north/south bashing, were all Italian and that's what counts.....

  • Pasquale a judge in Toronto? OTFLMAO! That's funnier than one of their skits -- you can't write this stuff. Rosina will have to find another Pasquale - I see a trip to Calabria in her future.

  • for gods sake lighten up people, this is comedy and if u r italian its funny, cause this is how our parents are. Cracks me up, just love it. thanks for posting. And to all the rude ignorant people who just come on here to swear....grow up ...u obviously havent been around long enough to appreciate life, fun, laughter and most of all happiness.

  • He's takin the piss because that's how they act in all fairness unless you live in Australia you don't understand. He's not causing any harm,The Sicilian's hang it on the Calabrese and vice versa that's how it is.

  • Va fanculo! Lighten up this is very funny!

  • i dont understand what the fuck is wrong with u 2 slagging northen italians. my dad is from the north and my mum from the south and both families get along brilliant. im proud being ITALIAN. not northern or southern, ITALIAN. we won the world cup as a team and 1 nation so fucking grow up

  • i totally agree with you ^^

  • I 100% agree with you....Forza Italia!!!!!!!

  • Northern Italians love to complain about and put down Southern Italians -- but Northern Italians also love to get fucked up the ass by those dark skinned big uncut dicked Southern Italians.

  • Calo's are just Greeks who could swim

  • You're an idiot. Sei un pirla.

  • what the fuck is wrong with you northern elitists, really...read about history, learn about the sociology...don't speak like ignorant idiots

  • this is a tipical italian who lives in the south of italy. we say it's a "terrone".

Fa shifo

  • you're the best!

  • maleducato, 100%

  • THIS IS SOOO TRUE!!!

  • Calabrese tight ass. Put some more free videos on i dont wana pay for any

  • ohh shiit, i hope my dad dosn't pull of some stuff like this at my sister's wedding

  • NO NO Italy isn't small,

The most popular italian around the world are southern people (imigration poverty, low culture and dialects like this)

In north Italy there are a lot of difference...

  • ...and what are these differences, huh? Maybe, you feel different from us. Among all Italians there aren't differences, except with fake/Italians like you.

Ops!.. by the way, I'm Friulano

  • No differences?? I saw many Italians who have made me ashamed ....

    and were not Friulian

  • Ashamed ? and for what, huh? Maybe, you've forgotten our history and where we come from.

All people make mistakes, but the pride of belonging should not vanish. For me, from Friuli to Sicily, there isn't difference. I see, only Italians...

  • for the people of the south still crushed by the Mafia as lice, without the courage or the interest to react, the scandals resulting corruption, Garbage, cultural backwardness.

Up to 90 years could be proud to be Italian .. now we are the last in EU...

  • This is your opinion and fortunately isn't the reality. Our discussion ends here. Thank you

  • I presume You don't live in Italy...And Friuli is autonomous region and one of the regions with better living standards,

I don't know other reality the problem us have are know....

  • I understand clearly your ideas. Therefore, the discussion can be considered exhausted.

    Regards

  • im friulano!woo!

  • Yes, i'm...

  • northern italy is poor! have u ever been to italy? i was born there and i know it like the back of my hand Carini Torino and Roma r the only places worth visiting. Especially Monterosso beach. you know nothing about italy there is a different dialect in different towns. people in philly sound different from people in Main am i right? its the same thing. next time before you talk do your research.

  • Northern Italy is poor?! HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

    You're an idiot.

  • omg!! this is like sooo true,.. i live near italy and i can totally see this happen !!!
