So beautiful !!!! Barbara Hendricks sings this great song beautifully too....and Gerard Souzay in his early 1960s recordings was a knockout....the best recent version on cd is from the great Matthais Goerne.......

@margaridaaaa don't agree, this asks a lieder aproach.

for that matter Elly Ameling never sang opera and more lieder untill the end of her stage carreer.

Fleming is diffrent but she has more darkness and fuller voice, Ameling is mystical and makes it in her lightness scary and tense.
