  • "Cool guys listen to Origa" ~ Soul XD

  • What albums is this part of?! I can't find it to save my life!

  • @Macil2018 Ghost in the Shell - SAC - OST 2

  • @Runehits Thank you.

  • @Runehits do you think the major ever scratches somone's back?

  • @jessenen If the mission depends on it. Then back scratching must be achieved at all costs. I mean all! :D

  • @Runehits Especially if there's an itch.

  • Who is singing the vocals? It doesn't sound quite like Origa.

  • @BPRMBWAC Ilaria Graziano---she sings this song---

  • WOW! I remember this song now! When I first heard it, I thought it was "I can't be caught". I thought aw man that is SO badass and really does describe The Major. However this is STILL an awesome song.

  • EPIC MAD LOVE FOR THIS!!

  • im gonna learn Italian now

  • epic pic of major!!! XD and song!

  • Oh my god, I've been looking for this song since I heard it in the anime but I had no idea what it was! I bow to you! Thank you so much!

  • @ElectricLabel

    ghost in the shell

  • 2 People can't be cool.

  • Awesome video, but that bit at the end ruined it for me.

  • Epic song!

  • LOVE this song. The whole ghost in the shell franchise has beyond good music but this ranks up there among my favorites. Once the chorus kicks in, it's like whoa. :D

  • @Stewkers I love the way they have chosen music from around the globe to incorporate into this masterpiece of a series

  • @AirRo4

    Definitely.

  • @AirRo4 Really? I thought Yoko Kanno was behind every tracks.

  • I thought they were singing "I can't be CAUGHT", until I looked at the back of my case. Then I was all, "oh, but I like my version better!"

  • @Ranemoraken it would make sense if they were the actual crimanls

  • @Ranemoraken You're version makes sense too since that's when she did the deep dive

  • @Ranemoraken

I thought the same thing, especially when the major broke into the safe and somehow managa to get out alive.

  • @Ranemoraken i thought the same thing too, been looking for this song since forever.

  • Bene

  • i swear, yoko kanno is a genius

  • @Ghostrill Well... Yuh.

  • this song should get 15m O_O best song i ever heard :D so in love with gits and this

  • what a song best ever^^

  • Has ANYONE at all found the percussionless version of this song that plays in 2nd gig episode 1 when she jumps out the window?

  • The painting is by Arcipello from deviantart

  • wasnt it 3 different languages all together?

  • @KatieTC

    thats inner universe.

  • Cool music, and cool pic. Simple and to the point. oh yeah

  • this song is really addictive

  • @JuliuStorm yeah that was kazunda goudo

  • Che bella sta canzone...

  • Origa is one of russian origin, who sings in Japan in various languages. English, latin, russian, italian would'nt even surprise me. And this is Origa, believe me.

  • @Ursaarctoshorribilis I own a physical copy of the Ghost in the Shell: SAC 2ng GIG soundtrack, and Ilaria Graziano is listed as the vocals for this song. The only song that Origa sings on this album is Rise.

  • @CreepyMitten 2nd* GIG

  • @Ursaarctoshorribilis its not origa, im surprised, if u really do know origa that well then you should be able to tell this is not her, sounds nothing like her. this is ilaria graziano.

  • i love this song.

  • this is in italian apparently o.O i lookd up a translation

  • Origa and Ilaria actually do sound similar. I heard Inner Universe, and then this, and thought they were the same person, haha...

  • omfg !!!!

  • i've been tring to find the "slow mix" of this from that one scene in solid state society.....

  • thank you for no annoying annotations! just pure good music.

  • Two people with bad aim came in here, because I see two Dislikes. They clearly must have been trying to hit Like.

  • I clicked on this solely because of the picture, happy to see that the song is great!

  • What is the album is this songs on?

  • you are all wrong the singers name is spam... spam i tell you... ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY SPAM... spam spam..spam.. spaa.... "references monty python"

  • She's Italian, does this sound Russian? IIaria Graziano made this song along with Yoko Kanno. IIaria is Italian not Russian, this is to anyone who got confused. Thanks for putting the Video with a kick tushi picture. This comment is for anyone still arguing about this womans ethnicity.

  • i really miss songs like this from animes, there's very few as good as this now U_U

  • chourus is fuckin epic!!!

  • Good song, and I know the artist that drew the picture. ^^ He has a deviantART. His deviantART name is Arcipello. A truly talented artist. The name of this piece is "Motoko Close up" its not finished though.

Anyhow. I love Yoko Kanno, I love Ghost in the Shell. An amazing anime, an amazing composer.

  • I would like to see Monica Belluci dressed as the Major, mmmm ;D

  • Someone has the version of this song in the scene of motoko falling down across the window in the chapter 1?

    Thx.

  • i have the episode so i just watch it lol

  • sick picture

  • this song is amazing :]

  • I just love when Ilaria Gratziano sings ^^.

  • the tongue roll at 1:13 is sexy... especially if your picturing monica bellucci singing it, like i am

  • Those lyrics are ITALIAN. Trust me! XD

  • @katanaedo trust you is something ill most likely not do again ;)

  • @katanaedo I thought the lyrics were latin like most of the other GITS songs with, Ilaria Graziano?

  • @Dogmachild it's italian,I can tell because uhm well it's my native language !

  • 0:45

  • song gets amazing at :45

  • The confusion about this singer lies in the fact that "The Gits" has been re-used a few times as a band name. Was the grunge band with singer Mia Zapata the original "The Gits" (i.e., the first to use this name?) There's others by that name, in Poland.

  • lol, nice use of the Tachikoma music at the end.

  • He's on deviant art just search for ghost in the shell its one of the top rated.

  • The picture, wich artist made it?

  • Oh, never mind.

    arcipello.deviantart. c o m/art/Motoko-Close-up-9596794

  • Does anyone know the words in english

  • I would too I wish they make a real movie of ghost in the shell here in america in person like they did with transformers and use a woman that looks like this pic that would just make my life happier

  • Spielberg is. Google it.

  • Comment removed

  • He is though. Wasnt trying to be a dick.

  • Comment removed

  • ?? ok. It could be cool, im looking forward to it.

  • I just read the whole thing of the GITS 3D maing Dreamworks isgoing to wor on it this summer hmm very interesting unfortuneatly it's not real life anime it's 3D I was talking about real people and the tachikomas to look real like the transformers for example but still good enough for me we'll see if it'll hit the theaters

  • apparently...she cant be cool :(

  • Is The Major actually capable of being uncool?

Well, it's an awesome song anyway. I'm trying rather hard to avoid describing it as cool, as that would be a bit odd considering the title.

  • yeahhh Italian foreveer !

  • I love this song!

  • woah, woah guys! lets not fight over nations and shit were all humans so, just listen to the music and lets be at peace with each other. its in my opinion that ALL nations are cool, they all have their pros and cons but their still our brothers. so please stop throwing mud at each others names, its immature and pointless!

  • @-jagyuchadda mayb theres sum kinda awsomly realistic anime cg style that we can reference & live out,,that puts reality to shame in the afterlife..dibs on motoko

  • haha! maybe we can clone Motoko! and that would be cool! i'd rather live in anime than real life, in a anime world u could do anything! i event went so far as to design what i would look like in that world far, far away...

  • Hey, u stole my idea of putting up gits song on utube! xD

  • srry, but u hav to admit its a cool idea! i guess we proved GITS right, u kno how all those dudes acted together without knowing it, coming up with the same conclusion (Stand Alone Complex) xP

  • Total Seinen anime are freakin cool!

  • anime is freakin cool, but sum dont think the same they think anime is for losers without a life, but i almost prefer anime over reality... i dont know, maybe i do need a life...uh, am i getting off topic?

  • Cool song !!!!!

  • No insults to Britain will be tolerated. America is just a cheap copy, a distilled image of the British empire based on economic control rather than military oppression. That said both regimes are/were exploitative and not to be lauded. Inventions alone don't measure a countries success, culture, philosophy, literature.

  • Ok seriously, what the hell? How the hell do you cretins get suckered into feeding troll arguments? Just enjoy the music. God...

  • Nice one. You and I should share a cigar some time.

  • Kickass song. Gotta love the GITS! One of my favorite songs that is real hard to put in a class... closest to triphop mixed with chillout mixed with rock's younger brother. thanks for the upload!

  • i luv GITS muzik and ur right its a odd genre!

  • Go Aussie!!! *LOL*

  • BRITISH! Aston Martins, pretty much every decent invention and we have never lost a war!

  • Are you joking? Every decent invention? Airplanes, light bulbs, Telegraph, Computers and nuclear energy are all inventions NOT made in Brittan, and they are just a few. Brittan has also lost colonial wars.

  • REAL WARS IDIOT! Besides...we invented the basic foundations for most inventions...all you punters did was made them better - so everything you have done is not really inventions but more adaptions....

  • One, I'm not american. Two, what the hell do you mean by a real war? That's bullshit; if you send troops and delare war, then it's a war. Three, you're wrong. Do some research instead of spitting out untrue facts like that. Can you name these so called 'foundations'?

  • Steam trains n shit. We had the biggest Empire on the planet. We have one of the best succes rates in war in the world. And by the way, why tell me to research stuff...Im not going to. Would do research if someone told you? Especially if they were called jdjl1987....

  • Steam trains were invented by John Fitch in 1794... in the United States. This is why research is important, because then you get the truth instead of incorrectly running your mouth off like an idiot.

  • butthurt american cant accept that his country has done very little of value that wasn't in support of european initiatives, enjoy your economic collapse and subsequent fall from power,

    in conclusion, yer a bawbag

  • Did you not read the fact that I said I was NOT American 2 posts ago? Yet again, you prove yourself to be a complete idiot who has no grasp on the world around him. You have done little to none in your support of your point and are merely trying to change the topic because you don't want to be wrong. I like Brittan, so stop making it look bad by being foolish. Don't respond unless you have an intelligent argument worth my time.

  • That was my brother. He was just so enraged at the fact that you thought steam trains were invented by Americans! Bullshiiiiiiiiiit. Shiiiiiiit. Where are you from then? Fuckin....Southern Ireland or something? Youuuu Suckkkkk. George Stevenson invented the steam train asssssss holllllle. Don't bother with research, listeeeen in Schoooool!!!! Whahahahaha!!!!!!!

  • George Stevenson is credited with BUILDING the first steam engine in 1804, 10 years AFTER Fitch had designed and built the first working model. Stevenson didn't actually design his own working train until 1814.

    Also, no. Not Southern Ireland.

  • I googled John Fitch and it said he only invented the steam boat...Where are you from? How old are you anyway? Probably too old to be argueing with me...Even if you don't tell me where your from, I would still bet money that its alot shitter than Britain.

You're the kinda guy who would work for a para military group, think they like you, then when you finish your task (fixing an engine or something) they shoot you.

  • I appreciate that you are in fact looking for areas of appropriate challenge. I'll snag you a quote... "John Fitch invented the steam railroad locomotive during the 1780s and demonstrated his little working model of it before President George Washington and his cabinet in Philadelphia."

Also, On the UN census on best country and Mercer Consulting's best cities, Brittan doesn't rank within the top 10 of either. My country is in both.

How old are YOU? Guarantee I'm not much older than you.

  • enjoy the music for gods sake..

  • Oh so the UN thinks you're the "best country", what the hell is that? does it mean your merchants shift the most pretty stuff? does it mean your grills are the greasiest? do you shit butterflies?

Maybe this john fitch did demonstrate a steam engine, but the end of it is that stevenson made it viable he got a railroad working, making britain the first country to have one, a scientific curiosity to the united states was industrial fact in britain

im 13, and your a dick, how old are you?

  • Your original point that Brittan has invented every decent invention has so far been unsupported, the fact it was an industrial application is a far cry from claiming it's actual invention. Your continued irrational argumentation is pathetic at best. You say my country must be shittier than Brittan, so I provide 2 sources, reputable ones at that, and your response is then only to attack without providing any points of value. If you don't have anything of value or relevance to say, then don't.

  • What is your country? To embarrased to say...Judging from your spelling of Britain, I would say...the Netherlands....or perhaps a Scandanavian country? Or perhaps you are American after all...and you just suck...

  • Oh yeah, and how old are you? Or are you embarrased about that as well? Go on. By the way, only tell me your actual age, Im not interested in your real age, so dont try to say your like 15 to save yourself.

  • Oh please, go on. Continue to attempt at insulting me in order to try and stray away from the fact that you have nothing of value in your argument. I live in Ottawa, I'm 21 and no I don't care that I'm 8 years older because that still doesn't change that you have zero points of value. I've said it before, either come with a point or don't bother posting. Haphazard personal insults get old, make you look stupid and I could care less.

  • K.....We still invented everything good though. DONT try and say the Canadians have done anything of value...I mean....like....god....

We also had the biggest Empire in recorded history (I think), and we are still in the same system sorta government which was responsible for the massive empire - by that I mean we havent really gone though any major revolutions or anything. Come on...you used to be ours! We sent your troops into battle to waste enemy ammuntion!

  • What the hell did I say about points of value? 'Everything good'. Give examples, like American inventions of light bulbs computers, planes, space flight, nuclear power, ect.

You don't even know your own country's history; the empire you speak of was formed under an absolute monarchy. After Habeas Corpus Act of 1679 the government operates as a constitutional monarchy; a revolution, although a peaceful one.

You should also look up WWII history before any Brit insults Canada.

  • lol, u guys are still going at it?

  • Lol im just going to say the Chinese and russians invented every thing. Umm thanks for the upload BTW

  • lol, i think its just funny how this coversation got started! we all hav our own opinions, but this is a little overboard. =}

  • i was changing the topic lol. my opinion was the amish invent the computer, light bulb and television

  • oh srry! didnt catch the hint. ={

japanese are the best because they invented Ghost in the Shell and this music! =D

  • But the music is Italian...

  • lol! thats tru, but they producer, singer, and anime are all of japanese origin

  • Actually the singer is Italian. Her name is Ilaria Graziano.

  • oops, i stand corrected =X

i always thought it was Origa, but i guess not xD

  • Lol. It's not Russian :]

  • i thought Origa was Japanese, not Russian =/

  • Origa is Russian. You can look her up on wiki. Her full name is Ol'ga Vital'evna Yakovleva. Since Japanese do not have an 'l' in their language, they pronounce it with an 'r', thus Olga became Origa. She came to Japan to start her singing career there from Russia.

Hope that helps clear any confusion :]

  • i give up lol xD there is too much confusion about the music of GitS. ill just shut up and listen to the awesome music xD

  • @Jagyuchadda the plain and simple fact about gits is , all their music is done by yoko kanno , this is yoko kanno i think , thats how i found this , i search up yoko kanno i cant be cool , after hearing the song in the first episode, i remembered reading on wiki that all the music is yoko kanno , and then i ended up here.

  • @ovhan1

    Vocal: Ilaria Graziano

    Musik: Yoko Kanno

    -_-

  • @ovhan1

also you should know that Wikipedia has close to no credibility so i would advise you not to use it as a source in any discussion, though in the opening credits it says music composed by Yoko Kanno(0.47-0.50), from this i would say that it is likely that all the music is composed from her though the vocals may not be her own. I also would come to the same conclusion when it later tell us that the vocals from "Rise" are done by Tim Jensen/Origa and Music is done by Yoko(0:54-0:56)

  • @Arriss3 to this day i have Never had problems with wikipedia, never once has it been wrong. and anyways , just like everything else you have to take it with a grain of salt.

  • @Jagyuchadda

Extra confusion - I think this particular song is done by the italian diva who works with Yakko Kanno rather than Origa. For some reason I also thought Origa was half Japanese...but she sure doesn't look it.

  • @CarpatoRus Origa is actually Russian.

  • japanese doesn't have an "l" in their alphabet. BUT, it doesn't have a "r" in the pronunciation. They pronouce "r" as "l".

  • plus i saw the lyrics there L's in the lyrics

  • um that's definitely not why.. olga in japanese would be 'oruga'. the i is either a stylization or a mistranslation

  • @xRisingForcex that's because Olga when pronounced in russian sounds like Oleega.

  • @F0reseer Do you mean when pronounced in Japanese? Because Olga is pronounced Olga in Russian with a y sound between the soft consonant and the hard one.

  • @Lemquennel And how exactly is the y sound different from the ee sound that I mentioned? (don't answer, it's a rhetorical question).

  • @F0reseer No, it's not a rhetorical question. It's the question you should be asking. Because that is a y as in "yesterday." Ys generally don't make an 'ee' sound. They make "ai" sound as in "dryad" or "spy"

  • @Lemquennel same difference. For the purposes of answering xRisingForcex's question of why it wasn't Oruga, it's because in Russian what follows the "L" in Olga is a front-near-close vowel (ee, y, i, etc. what have you) and not a central/back-near-close vowel like w, u, oo, etc.). The i in Japanese is a front vowel, but not u. I didn't want to write all this out to RisingForce. .....or to you. But there u have it.

  • @F0reseer I'm not talking about the vowel y. I'm talking about the consonant

  • @Lemquennel Again, same difference. In truth, the "y" you're referring to in Russian (IPA: "j") is neither truly a vowel nor a consonant. It's got properties of both. And follows a similar palatization like the Swedish G in Goteborg (where the g in borg is is pronounced like a y). And my point is that when Japanese approximates foreign words, it tries to do so as precisely as possible. And the IPA j is closer to the JApanese i than a u is. Hence Origa (i and u are semi-silent in Japanese).

  • @Lemquennel the position of the tongue when you pronounce Olga is front-near-close (right after the L.) Because your tongue's initial position is at the same general place when you try to say either "yesterday" or "ee." There's a reason why the both the vowel and consonant are represented by the same letter. Now if an American pronounced Olga, and a Japanese heard it, he would romanize what he hears as OrUga. but Origa when from a Russian.

  • @Lemquennel And when I said it sounds like "Oleega" in Russian I was giving an approximation. Because It's not just plain Ollllga in Russian. I just thought it was too much trouble to explain that to someone who didn't speak Russian.

  • @Lemquennel and I'd like to emphasize that an "i" is sort of silent and sounds like a fricative consonant in japanese. so its approximation isn't a mistransliteration but accurate.

  • @F0reseer SHUT UP.

  • @YeIllustriousc2 mind your own shyte, I wasn't bloody talking to you. Lemquennel and I have been having a rather chill discussion.

  • @F0reseer I see. It was the phonetic phoneme "ee" that was throwing me off. "ee," being a double letter phoneme is usually much more pronounced than single letter phoneticisms. I understand now

  • @Lemquennel sorry for the confusion. I should've been more specific. anyway, i wonder if any of Olga's own works are good? I know she released her own CDs.
