just asking but there are two ways of playing it and did you get this from sheet music or do it by ear just wondering witch on is the original ( i can play both :D ) thanks also do you know the other way of playing it a witch do you think is better thanks again :P
@pivoteer123 please share it with everyone, im not saying im am right or even good...thats not the point...please post a video of your method and share with everyone.
hey that tutorial was good but u used two hands to do a one handed tune, do it one haded and put octaves c sharp in, d sharp in and f sharp in with your left hand. play the rest of the tune with ur right sounds better=-)
ty vm but 1 question when you said switch to E then to F what do you mean? because its c then to c, is it c then to e? and f to f? If what I said makes sense?
@FlyingGold yep. When I was leaning the instructor did it...so I figured if people are trying to learn something easy that people would recognize...that I would try to provide the easiest way possible...its all about encouraging people to continue to progress. This is a very basic version, but it is transcribed correctly, with the right notes...
well, actually when I put the camera down and play it through its played with two hands. The reason to show it this was was to give people an easy way to play it. I learned it with two hand before one. I am by no means a good piano player, but...you have to start somewhere...so this video is designed to show something that everyone can play, and recognize. That hopefully will inspire some to keep going.
hey liarobe.. just to let you know, I can play it with one hand. maybe your just short so your hands not big enogh but it doesnt mean you should call people that want to help you, a retard. That's not on dude.
Not a bad keyboard for a cheapo...well not that cheap but its gets the job done. I was impressed with the tones from the small speakers. I usually play it through an amp though.
Alot of people play it on "D." While it sounds ok you have to take into account that Slash plays most songs including this one with Eb tuning. Eb tuning is a 1/2 step down which would make a "D" a "C#."
Purpose is not to be better then anyone, its too share music, to encourage. There is always someone better...to show how good I am (which I am not) will never be the point to any of my videos.
@clammster i like your point. i have played piano for 15 years, and it was still helpful for someone who is more advanced. thanks for your perspective, and thanks too for sharing this!
starts with D ... so ive been told by a techy that worked with them...because its in D major...please correct if im wrong :$
TimmyTheDrumBoy 1 year ago
@TimmyTheDrumBoy You would be correct if his guitar was conventionally tuned, but its not, its tuned 1/2 step down.
So 1/2 step down from D is Eb.

can u plz do the bass part of the intro plz it would really help nice tut by the way

I have not worked out the bass part, I would recommend downloading the guitar tab and then transcribing it to Eb tuning.

can u please reply with the notes please because I'm learning and it help
ryant331 2 years ago
why don t u play it with one hand only?
Skyklop 2 years ago
thats just the way I thought it was easier to learn. I can play it with one hand, but for those beginning its not as easy.
Eventually people should shift for playing it on one hand so they can play other parts.
clammster 2 years ago
tnx for the vid this is the first music that i've learned

Keys are labeled because is helps newbies. Thats all this video is supposed to do. You don't like it, you don't have to watch it.
Your comment is worthless as I am sure you are as well.
clammster 2 years ago
this sounds good.
but is this right? other tutorials of this song aren't playing like all flats & sharps.
xCarreyCarebear 2 years ago
I am playing it knowing that slash tunes 1/2 step down.
clammster 2 years ago
The way I showed it was played out of Eb. The 1st note happens to be c#
clammster 2 years ago
for god sake.. show us how to do it in e flat and f sharp its rly bugging me

this is cool i play guitar and piano but is it true u can tune ur guitar with the sound of a piano?
sydn3yros3 2 years ago
Yes you can. Just use the correct not and adjust the guitar till they harmonize.
You can also tune them to tones on the iphone, palm, or blackberry.
clammster 2 years ago
hey you know if you simply "erase" the sharps then you can make it easier on yourself (all white keys) so you could play like c c g f f g f g
macktruck39G 2 years ago
c# not c
clammster 2 years ago
wow thanx man helped me alot
billymarshall321 2 years ago
no he's right
returnthisserve7 2 years ago
that is wrong
num214life 3 years ago
Please explain.
Alot of people play it on "D." While it sounds ok you have to take into account that Slash plays most songs including this one with Eb tuning. Eb tuning is a 1/2 step down which would make a "D" a "C#."
Please correct me if im wrong.
clammster 3 years ago
Watch Sweet Child O' Mine - Scott D. Davis - solo piano.
It is also played on C#
Please explain what you think is wrong.
clammster 3 years ago
hmmm good job on ur cover i play it different tho and i only use 1 black key but they both sound rlly good... check my cover out sometime
ENCORElefty 3 years ago
good job;) i also think that this is the right key to play it;) if you want come and check my cover:)
velasquez87 3 years ago

SplurgeSkits 3 years ago
Every1 look at mine. I think its better
zrocky543z 3 years ago
I dont think you play it in the right key.
Though it doesn't sound bad either. I was told c# was the correct way to play on piano.
clammster 3 years ago
they both sound gud tho
zrocky543z 3 years ago
Ya, I like both ways. First way is my favorite, but this sounds just as great so it's hard to choose.
Trevmage 3 years ago
no. c is ont the right way to play, even though 40% of ppl think it is. the correct way to play is starting from D
serbros 3 years ago
Again, "D" 1/2 step down is c sharp. Slash does not use normal tuning for this song. he uses Eb.
clammster 3 years ago
no one takes into account tuning.
if slash was tuned coventionally, he would start with "D" but he tunes 1/2 step down. C#
clammster 3 years ago
d is SOOO WRONG.. soo incredibly wrong.. clammster has it right
eplayr 2 years ago 5
Thank you.
Its amazing how many people dont understand my logic which is sound. I play this on both guitar and piano.
clammster 2 years ago
Dude, this eplary guy is an idiot, i also play guitar and it's perfect if you were to actually translate the notes to piano which is simple.
Gibsonlespaul8 2 years ago
Eplary was saying that playing on d is very wrong which I agree with.
clammster 2 years ago
it shud b d - d not c# - c#
