Look it is really easy. First of there is one race in the WHOLE game. Second those boosts suck I agree but you can just bird dive to the statue and. third if you can't learn you don't have to point it at the screen there's a problem. So if it took you the ENTIRE demo to do that then really you just suck at skyward sword seperately. Me I got them both within 2 minutes... FIRST TRY! So just think like your really flying and dive for it clearly a no duh moment.
Remember Wind Waker and how much crap it received about noobish graphics. Then it turned out to be one of the best Zelda games. Skyward Sword is the same.
The fact of the matter is, people that judge video games solely on graphics are the true failures.

@SUNNYRAINWIND Ah ok. For me the game is just amazing I quickly adapted to the motion controls, I like how you can actually sprint in this game and upgrade your weapons. Yeah it does look pixilated like you said but it doesn't bother me at all, the art style is just amazing. All the zelda games are the same one way or another but if they were to change it dramatically it would just suck completely. I just started getting back into the zelda franchise after getting rid of my xbox so we'll see.

You are right that if they change it to much it wont be Zelda anymore my fave series is Final Fantasy and that has gone downhill since 10 do to the changes in some things. I would have to say the desert is my fave stage and the under water level they where really amazing. In the end the game is not for me but its good that Zelda fans like it.
i dont know about the game suck, but i do wish it had more things like open exploring side quest etc, im at the start of world 2 can anyone tell me if the game gets any better like with the older zelda games, anyway the new zelda for wii u will for sure be fantastic

This game was seriously watered down. It's extremely linear, has no real exploration and sidequests are just handed to you whenever you get back to town after finishing dungeons. Me and Zelda had years of fun together, but it's time to go our seperate ways.
Skyword Sword blows. I got it for christmas and I love the story.. except it's by far the most FRUSTRATING zelda game ever.. The dungeons are EXTREMELY short (compared to other zelda games) the controls fucking suck, and you constantly have to run around massive areas finding little things (peices of key, generator key bullshit) FUCUCUCKCKKKK

i've been big into zelda since i was a kid. i played ss for an hour and hated it. i tried to be patient though and am almost done with the game. i still don't like it. it's decent, but i think back on twilight, that game looks newer and better than this crap. motion controls are annoying and don't intrigue me or make a game better, i care more about visuals and music especially in zelda. the music was nothin compared to other zeldas. guess we'll wait for the hd zelda on wii u, but this was crap

@magichands2011 it makes more sense that you get powerful weapons through the story. The way they currently set up the upgrading system, it deviates too much from something that works and changed it into something Zelda is not. Leave the experience point and upgradable weapons to RPG's like Skyrim or Dark Souls, because it just ruins this game. Give more priority to the shield and make amore general combat system. Oh i don't understand what you mean by "there's a version for wii?" no disrespect
@magichands2011 this is exactly my point, the sword AND shield has always been a traditional and working aspect of Zelda, and now there is no use for the shield, and yes i know graphics aren't everything but it is still needed so i don't feel like crying when i look at the graphics. Skyrim sword is way too easy and definitely nowhere near as long as any other 3D Zelda game, they added too many gimmicks in the game (motion plus, flying birds, upgradable equipment) which all make the game worse
@magichands2011 many people have the same problems i do, and my motion plus is new so i shouldn't have to buy another attachment just to play a terrible game. Every other Zelda game was more involved and fun to play than this one.
@magichands2011 no TP is way more expansive and fun than SS. SS just has so many gameplay issues including breaking shields and unresponsive controls, and it needs some level of good graphics. How can you even compare SS with OOT... obviously you never took the time to play OOT because it has better gameplay, story, controls, difficulty, weapons and was just plain fun from beginning to end. In SS i have to sit through boring combat and dialouge. This is the worst 3D Zelda game.

@magichands2011 controls are unresponsive and needs constant calibration. In addition its 2012, some level of good graphics should be present, these graphics match N64 graphics. You can't say a Zelda game isn't bad just because it's a Zelda game. He looks like an idiot when running with a sword, the shield is rarely used in addition to being able to upgrade weapons which completely ruins the unique playstyle Zelda used to have. This is the only Zelda i ever had to turn off because it was boring.

Skyward Sword is overrated in my opinion, it didn't deserve a perfect score but that's just my opinion. With only 3 zones and a hub homeworld, it has to be the smallest Zelda 3D world. Add to that the repetitive sequences of going through each of the 3 zones multiple times. Left me disappointed to say the least. It was fun but not the best ever. OoT, MM, and WW are the best for me.

the mechanics of the bird were fine. very sensitive but fine over all. dotn spam boost. just flap the wings. quite simple. guess too complicated for average american. however the game sucks major cock for ample other reasons. lets not get on the brilliant story line or the fantastic free mmorpg style fetch quests.
In my opinion the game was way better than Twilight Princess. Twilight Princess felt incomplete and with boring and short missions. Its a little bit superior to Ocarina of Time (but not at 100%) in some elements. I'll give it a 9.5

Having played most Zelda games (including GBA ones), this new one copied A LOT of things from other, though the most important things (godess story, the gorons, the zoras, the F*CKING CONCEPT OF HYRULE) were abolished. It was zelda, but at the same time it wasn't. I think the people who made this one should sit and play all Zeldas cause i think they clearly have no idea what it is about

@diegooobeast liked the game because it shows the story of How the Master Sword was created, and how Hyrule begins. Yes there are some recycled things but at least it has some new things and i like the art style more than Twilight Princess style because TP looked like Lord of the Rings instead of a Zelda game and thats not the only problem of TP, the other problem is that TP had some short and boring missions and it was too limited i'll give TP a 8.5, Skyward Sword fixed some of the flaws of TP.

I REALLY enjoyed around 1 hour of the 58 I spent in this game, in the other Zelda games was almost 100% of the time!!!

There is no "Turbo Boost" This is the birds tackle attack... To be faster you have to swing the Wiimote up and down like the birds wings to fly higher and then hold it down to gain speed...

I didn't like it too much... I've finished him and i don't wanna play it again... the map is small, the desert area is fucking giant... flying with a bird can be good at first, but it goes boring. Has just 6 main dungeons and 1 minor dungeon. Few itens... The music isn't so impactant... that game didn't deserve 10 IGN gave. I'm praying for Zelda Wii U comes great, with a vivid map, a lot of items and dungeons with great soundtrack.
Oh and you hate the game just because you failed at the bird race? And so far I have only came to one bird race, which was the first and possibly only one... And it took me 5 minutes to beat. And really when you fly from stage to stage it is like for 1 minute, and you have places to explore while doing it. You obviously just ragequit because you didn't like the race, now I guess the race wasn't that fun, but it was meant to help the story. And like I said there is only one race...

I hope you known the intention of the "turbo boost' is an attack on enemies in the sky, not mainly to speed up. In order to speed up you gain altitude and kinda nose dive (but not straight down) or go through one of the boosts in the sky..
this new zelda game is horrible.... transexual bosses and demon lords and demons are not how zelda used to be... if you ask me they totally destroyed the zelda name with this game :/ the older n64 games were so amazing and fun and then there was windwaker and even twilight princess, they were all fun and totally had that zelda feel to it.. but now this skyward sword one, it just completely destroyed the name of zelda. i really hope they go back to the normal zelda style in the next one they make
Hated the race too man, the E3 girl failed to explain how to play the game. If you move the Wii mote up and down you flap the birds wings...which the game even fails to mention this. Because without this your Bird sinks into the clouds and makes it impossible to fly. Flapping Wings is Key and Boost's are good for getting altitude. Bird Race does only take 5 mins to catch it the first time. 2nd time....ya you should have played the Dungeon or Boss Battle. Happy Thanksgiving man.

The game has come out and I tried the bird gameplay. I do understand how the boost isn't that great of an increase in speed, but everything else does work. You probably didn't get enough air in the sky and swoop down, which would give you more speed.

All of the islands in the sky aren't even story related, there really is barely any bird flying you need to actually do if its that annoying for you. I'm about 15 hours into it and I'm willing to bet this may just be the best Zelda game ever, but we'll see. I hope you change your mind and try it out. It really isn't that bad. Also you don't need to hold your arm up like that... Just make sure the wiimote is straight. Also you can catch that bird pretty quickly, just cut corners.
I do believe that this game does not follow up to the high expectations of the other zelda games. Just looking at the trailer for it i knew it wasnt going to be good. This for me is one of the worst zelda games that has ever come out.

My complaint besides that is that most every Zelda since the SNES era has been more or less a rehash/remake of "A Link to the Past." and OoT.
Collect three pendants/jewels/whatever, then fight a fake end boss, collect 7 medalions/crystals/triforce pieces, then fight the real boss.
Same damn dungeon patterns too. Considering they've had me doing the same shit since the 80's and havent seen fit to change much, it's really starting to wear on me.

i've been big into zelda since i was a kid. i played ss for an hour and hated it. i tried to be patient though and am almost done with the game. i still don't like it. it's decent, but i think back on twilight, that game looks newer and better than this crap. motion controls are annoying and don't intrigue me or make a game better, i care more about visuals and music especially in zelda. the music was nothin compared to other zeldas. guess we'll wait for the hd zelda on wii u, but this was crap

The way they currently set up the upgrading system, it deviates too much from something that works and changed it into something Zelda is not. Leave the experience point and upgradable weapons to RPG's like Skyrim or Dark Souls, because it just ruins this game. Give more priority to the shield and make amore general combat system. @magichands2011 this is exactly my point, the sword AND shield has always been a traditional and working aspect of Zelda, and now there is no use for the shield, and yes i know graphics aren't everything but it is still needed so i don't feel like crying when i look at the graphics. Skyrim sword is way too easy and definitely nowhere near as long as any other 3D Zelda game, they added too many gimmicks in the game (motion plus, flying birds, upgradable equipment) which all make the game worse

@magichands2011 no TP is way more expansive and fun than SS. SS just has so many gameplay issues including breaking shields and unresponsive controls, and it needs some level of good graphics. How can you even compare SS with OOT... obviously you never took the time to play OOT because it has better gameplay, story, controls, difficulty, weapons and was just plain fun from beginning to end. In SS i have to sit through boring combat and dialouge. This is the worst 3D Zelda game.

@magichands2011 controls are unresponsive and needs constant calibration. In addition its 2012, some level of good graphics should be present, these graphics match N64 graphics. You can't say a Zelda game isn't bad just because it's a Zelda game. He looks like an idiot when running with a sword, the shield is rarely used in addition to being able to upgrade weapons which completely ruins the unique playstyle Zelda used to have. This is the only Zelda i ever had to turn off because it was boring.

Skyward Sword is overrated in my opinion, it didn't deserve a perfect score but that's just my opinion. With only 3 zones and a hub homeworld, it has to be the smallest Zelda 3D world. Add to that the repetitive sequences of going through each of the 3 zones multiple times. Left me disappointed to say the least. It was fun but not the best ever. OoT, MM, and WW are the best for me.

@diegooobeast liked the game because it shows the story of How the Master Sword was created, and how Hyrule begins. Yes there are some recycled things but at least it has some new things and i like the art style more than Twilight Princess style because TP looked like Lord of the Rings instead of a Zelda game and thats not the only problem of TP, the other problem is that TP had some short and boring missions and it was too limited i'll give TP a 8.5, Skyward Sword fixed some of the flaws of TP.

I like the controls, but it seems like Zelda has become a sort of Mario Party or something. The dungeaons are really boring, almost everything is boring! I REALLY enjoyed around 1 hour of the 58 I spent in this game, in the other Zelda games was almost 100% of the time!!!

There is no "Turbo Boost" This is the birds tackle attack... To be faster you have to swing the Wiimote up and down like the birds wings to fly higher and then hold it down to gain speed...

I didn't like it too much... I've finished him and i don't wanna play it again... the map is small, the desert area is fucking giant... flying with a bird can be good at first, but it goes boring. Has just 6 main dungeons and 1 minor dungeon. Few itens... The music isn't so impactant... that game didn't deserve 10 IGN gave. I'm praying for Zelda Wii U comes great, with a vivid map, a lot of items and dungeons with great soundtrack.

And really when you fly from stage to stage it is like for 1 minute, and you have places to explore while doing it. You obviously just ragequit because you didn't like the race, now I guess the race wasn't that fun, but it was meant to help the story. And like I said there is only one race...

I hope you known the intention of the "turbo boost' is an attack on enemies in the sky, not mainly to speed up. In order to speed up you gain altitude and kinda nose dive (but not straight down) or go through one of the boosts in the sky..

Hated the race too man, the E3 girl failed to explain how to play the game. If you move the Wii mote up and down you flap the birds wings...which the game even fails to mention this. Because without this your Bird sinks into the clouds and makes it impossible to fly. Flapping Wings is Key and Boost's are good for getting altitude. Bird Race does only take 5 mins to catch it the first time. 2nd time....ya you should have played the Dungeon or Boss Battle. Happy Thanksgiving man.

The game has come out and I tried the bird gameplay. I do understand how the boost isn't that great of an increase in speed, but everything else does work. You probably didn't get enough air in the sky and swoop down, which would give you more speed.

@Pingascore THIS. Gamefan came out in the 90s and talked about how they were paid off by Square and Sega. Don't doubt the companies don't do it today. Why else would they forward the games weeks, or even months before to the reviewers?

All of the islands in the sky aren't even story related, there really is barely any bird flying you need to actually do if its that annoying for you. I'm about 15 hours into it and I'm willing to bet this may just be the best Zelda game ever, but we'll see. I hope you change your mind and try it out. It really isn't that bad. Also you don't need to hold your arm up like that... Just make sure the wiimote is straight. Also you can catch that bird pretty quickly, just cut corners.

I do believe that this game does not follow up to the high expectations of the other zelda games. Just looking at the trailer for it i knew it wasnt going to be good. This for me is one of the worst zelda games that has ever come out.

dude, i agree that these birdflying levels may suck, but dont you think you should have tried those other ones. I agree that these flying levels will be annoying, maybe a little like wind waker, but i think i would buy the game for the combat. Just saying. And please excuse my spelling.

My complaint besides that is that most every Zelda since the SNES era has been more or less a rehash/remake of "A Link to the Past." and OoT.
Collect three pendants/jewels/whatever, then fight a fake end boss, collect 7 medalions/crystals/triforce pieces, then fight the real boss.
Same damn dungeon patterns too. Considering they've had me doing the same shit since the 80's and havent seen fit to change much, it's really starting to wear on me.

look every time u play a game on your 1st time don't need to be rape, if u suck at it at your 1st time at that part don't get a bur up your pooper or say that your not going to buy a game over a little part or demo. and i am sure that Avery one Has that game with a part that they hate and now have gotten batter at it later in life. the longer u play a game no matter what it is your going to get batter in time :) so don't be bad be pro. and be happy :D even if u don't like it. :D
