about tapping, only other guitar players see it as cheating, non players just think it looks cooler. tapping is a good way to get through a solo if you haven't developed your right hand picking yet, but not cheating.

Tapping is a technique, so therefore u are still playing the song either way. In my opinion tapping can make a fast part sound more fluent than picking it.
