When I first watched this and it switched to the jungle I was really pissed cause I thought Sara was still out that boat trip so there was no way he was going to find her. I went from swearing to almost crying in like 2 seconds :)

This scene is so remarkable in the scene the writers got it just right. Two characters, both of whom have seen such darkness, reuniting out in the daylight. Sara, always taking such awful pictures, taking pictures of something living. Grissom passing up an insect to get to his one true love. His silent exit from the lab, just as they always foreshadowed. The inclusion of Warrick. My favorite part is where Sara almost breaks down. "Oh my God, he's come for me." Absolutely gorgeous.

I love this clip. Like everyone else I tear up when I watch it. He is walking through the hall, glancing in at all of the people that he has worked with for so long. When he stopped and looked at Nick he grinned a little bit. I think he thought of Nick as the son he never had. I loved the wink that Catherine gives him.

warrick was investigating lou gedda and then got framed for geddas murder. it ends up being this 1 cop and the under sherrif (sp?) mckean were moles in the department. mckean kills warrick after warrick is freed by the CSI team because Warrick was about to start looking at Mckean as the mole

In my opinion they should have saved this exit for the end of the season and just ended the series there. There is no CSI without Grissom and I don't think the show is going to last much longer anyways. They've lost to many characters and too much momentum.

@gracexcon They were originally going to have Grissom leave at the end of the previous season and have Warrick killed earlier, but a writer's strike delayed both events. I read this in "Entertainment Weekly" in an interview with Bill Peterson.

It is still a good show, but it needs Grissom. It would be nice if he was back and with Lawrence Fishburne. My problem with Fishburne is he gets top billing when others have been there a lot longer!

In a way they had every main character from the shows run (except Langston & Curtis) there, they even had some supporting characters. Grissom holding Warricks funeral book was a great moment, it showed that Warrick is still on everybodys mind, and is still a major part of the shows fabric.

what an exit going and finding Sarah, so fitting for a character as great as Grissom, he is a legend in his own right, and im sad to admit that after he left i completly fell out of the CSI loop, it was just too different without Grissom, I loved how his exit from the lab was quiet yet elegant in that everyone was going about their lives, and that moment between Catherine and Grissom was jsut beautiful,

CSI definitely isn't the same without Grissom but I thought this was a fitting send off for him and I loved the moment between him and Catherine. Fingers crossed that he'll be back, if nothing else at least for the last episode. Clooney went back to ER for the last episode so I think William Peterson will do a guest spot - or I hope he will.

I love how this exit is so graceful and beautiful -- and it completely comports with Grissom's statement in the first season that when he leaves CSI, there won't be any cake in the breakroom... he'll just be gone. And I did like how Catherine and Grissom were able to acknowledge each other and say goodbye -- although Sara was certainly Grissom's love, Catherine was probably his closest friend and confidant.

A very graceful exit for one of the most remarkable characters in television history.
