You must also consider how much energy that HAARP produces and multiply that by the gain of the antennas. Much like a magnifying glass will multiply the sun's rays to a point, these antennas have gain characteristics that multiply, by many times, the input.

Thanks for posting this. After doing my own research on this issue, I can state, as a professional in the field, that HAARP is real and more than likely from the anecdotal evidence, is in use.
Anyone that does not think so should start by reading books on elementary electrical engineering. Couple that with a study of how the atmosphere/weather relate, and then come back and make informed statements. The data is out there on the GOV and EDU sites. Both engineering and patent data.

You must also consider how much energy that HAARP produces and multiply that by the gain of the antennas. Much like a magnifying glass will multiply the sun's rays to a point, these antennas have gain characteristics that multiply, by many times, the input.
Doesn't take much to realize that it could heat and move the jet stream.

Eastlund specifically points out Alaska as an ideal location due to both fuel aspect and accessible magnetic field lines, by the way; I don't believe in coincidences.

For me it's rather on rumours scale rather than hard evidence (so it got shelved) but some rumours do get evidence over years.

The sad thing about this is that it is a bunch of convincing parlour tricks and some neat hypotheses that would need to really really tested to hold water.The big problem is the amount of energy we put into the ionosphere by this technique is very small compared to the amount of energy that happens in nature we just don't have enough energy at this point. I mean the area of the ionosphere being heated is small. It won't even have mesoscale level say the area of the Monterey Bay in California.
