i just did lower eyelid surgery just one eye with other Dr' however am not satesfied because they didnt pull up well as i want also still it need some moor fat to remove where is this location? it been only 4days maybe i need to wait to see fall resalt
i afraid the laser will be hit the eyes balls and the patient will go blind for sure...... accident will always happen.... so scary.... dont do laser!!!
Do you ever have young patients that get this done? I'm 25, and don't necessarily have baggy under eyes but I have puffy pockets directly beneath my lower eyelid that has been getting worse in the last couple years. You can see it, particularly when I smile, and in pictures it is pretty obvious. Is lower blepharoplasty an appropriate solution for this/me?
It does look scary, and the laser looks dangerous and very very slow!!
A johnmartinmd: What is is the difference in operation duration, time, done with a laser, as compared to a knife? That is to say, the relative surgery/cutting.. and which do you prefer, the traditional blade or the laser cutter? recovery time, affected?
A very interesting and informative video. I'm 53 but my eyes look like they are 65-plus. On average, what is the healing/post-op time? What are the infection risks?
How much??? I seriously want to have it done.. I am just 50 years old but think it would really help considering I have bags under my eyes. How much. Is it affordable?
Im sorry i had a lower bleph done and 6 moths and even years later it didnt do a damn thing and i used one of the absoute best surgeons in my city ( Houston). i looked MONTHS younger!!!
@LETMEINGUYS Sorry to hear you had disappointing results. Everyone has different anatomy, and heals differently - but most people are pretty happy post-op.
I am 61 and think am told that I look good for my age but would love to have this done. I feel 50 but so tired of dark circles and bags. Can this be done using only a local?
It can be done using only a local - but there is a fair amount of pulling which even the local anesthetic won't eliminate. If someone is anxious or not good with pain, we recommend local sedation, with in IV to give some sedation.
Ive been using restalyn in my lower eyelid tear troughs for 4 years now. Im 25. It gets deeper, wider and longer each time and my skin is getting baggier each time also.
The doctors tell me its impossible but they are also the ones telling me to get more done to fill in the trough.
I see there are other 20 year olds looking at this as an alternative, I am also. My questions are if its done earlier does it work better and hold off aging longer? Also what is the recovery time?
if you are really hollow, there may not be enough of your own fat to move into the trough. Sometimes by tightening the lid, you can mask it a bit. But you seem a bit young for that. You may want to try putting some fat from elsewhere on your body into the trough - it will last a longtime, and you can do some laser to try and lighten any dark color. Tough to keep putting in restylane at your age!
wish I had this done, I had blepharoplasty 10 years ago, it left my lower eye lids hollow, I get injections now to even out the area, but being hollow was preferable to looking 35 at 20. Do you have a video of the results?
it was not uncommon to take out large amounts of fat and leave people hollow. You should think about taking some fat from you hips or abdomen (if you have any) and inject it into the lower lids. It lasts longer than the temporary fillers, and usually gives a very nice fill.
I've already undergone a pretty traumatic lipo before, the doctor messed me up good, so for right now, I'll skip the lipo...but I'm sure it can help some people who ended up hollow like me :)
when we do lipo for fat transfer, it is very different than regular lipo. We just do a small area, and it has to be done with just a small syringe and hand suction with a small canula. It is done this way to try and preserve the fat and not damage it when harvesting.
hello I'm 20 years old and I'm going to do the blepharoplasty surgery soon on the lower eyelid and I have a question with the local anesthesia will I be able to feel any pain or see while the doctor is doing the surgery????
Once the local anesthesia has been administered, you shouldn't feel any pain. You may however experience some pressure as the fat is manipulated. If you have IV sedation as well, you will be very comfortable, and shouldn't feel anything. You won't see the doctor of instruments as a protective shield is placed over the eye before the surgery starts.

@oienmac Lazer = less bleed. Tighten the skin and tissues around it.
It's better. It heals faster as well.
