  • you look like a bearded girl

  • actually the next gen of the logitech cameras didnt support H264 and I really wish the video could be updated to reflect that. The C920 does support built in H264 encoding. Also make sure to always update your skype to the newest version as many changes are being brought to 5.7 and above to support H264 codecs.

  • Seems to me that the lifecam Looks and Sounds much better.

  • Yes, I fucking hate my current camera.

  • How about vs the Logitech c910?

  • whats a good web cam for dark rooms my walls are dark gray and a low lamp i love my room because its chill and dark. : ) but i always have to go to my bathroom because you cant see me on my webcam :/

  • Can you help me please...I really don't know yet what HD webcam buy... I have Windows 7 64bit Toshiba Satellite T135D AMD Turion (tm) Neo X2 Dual Core Processor L625 1.60 Ghz 4.00 Go (3.75 Go utilisable) Ram I hope you could help me please. I would at least send 720p videocalls without any freezing...What did you want to say when saying hack skype?

  • How about C910 Logitech Webcam for skype 5.5 on Windows 7 64-bit....it would work fine?

  • @FRANCISCOEA yes the C910 would work fine on your system, if you have good bandwidth and good processor, but also its important to make sure that the person your calling has a steady connection and good computer as well otherwise your quality will go down to their level.

  • Two questions about "lifecam":

I understand that I can not use a microphone when recording with Microsoft's software? but I do it from other software? or could use the microphone and webcam to broadcast live via Ustream for example?

    thanks!

  • question for anyone out there!!! does the Microsoft Lifecam STUDIO work with Mac??? Macbook pro running Snowleopard to b exact!!!

  • although I am not a big fan of the big MS, but

wow, the lifecam is SO much better, with the video sharper and audio better

  • Great Demo. Thank you. You helped me make my decision, LOGITECH WEBCAM PRO 9000.

  • the lifecam looks much clearer. and the audio sounds way better on my notebook's speakers.

  • Logitech always seems to suffer from shitty fps

  • Microsoft looks way better...

But the wistling from the mic sucks S:

  • life cam looks better

  • @yahmana lol ive ownd a lifecam its ok but logitech is more realisticc

  • does the microsoft lifecam cinema work woth mac

  • which cam should I get so I can do widescreen HD in skype out of the box? thanks!

  • are you using any of these 2 webcams on a mac? plz respondddddddddd thanks

  • The sound is not as clear with the Logitech. The Logitech sounds like some kind of internet streaming audio, but I didn't notice the annoying static distortion associated with the Logitech quickcam cameras. I also had very bad luck with the rightsound software by Logitech, sounded really bad. I'm not really pleased with either one. Is there a good quality basic camera that you would recommend other than a webcam that could be used , and add your own quality microphone.

  • hey man i just wanted to ask u wat did u major in when u went to college bcause ur job looks cool as fuck lmfao... and do you deal with cell phones or any technology otha then cameras bcause want to go to college for the same thing :)

  • Lifecam Cinema is better!

  • @knightslay2 i disagreee this cam makes ur face look long i bought the logitech pro 9000 alot better more clearr and sharperrr and shows how im supose to look

  • btw to update this even though its not my video lol i just bought a logitech pro 9000 and the quality blows the lifecam cinema out of the waterrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • Nope, sorry but the first one is a lot better. Yes it's noticeably better, especially the audio....I have no idea what you heard but the first one you used had greater audio than you thought.....

  • I have the Microsoft LifeCam and no buzz... and I agree, sounds better then the Logitech, much clearer.

  • Hey Guys please follow our new Youtube page youtube.com.guysfromqueens

  • Thanks for sort the different out beweet the web-cam, now I know which one to buy now!!

  • The Cinema mic sounds much better and the video is alot more detailed.

  • I am getting a Power-mac G5 this weekend and need a camera will the Microsoft life web cam be compatible with the Apple G5

  • You know the Microsoft Lifecam sound quality sounds much better to me, in fact your voice sounds much louder then on Logitech. That's why I wonder why you said that the Lifecam has poor quality? I have the logitech and am definitely going to pick up the Lifecam.

I'm always doing videos at night though with three large lights in the room, how is lighting at night? Does it look well? I am just curious

  • I'm gonna buy a Microsoft Lifecam soon, Great price on Amazon under $50 with shipping. Quality looks great on this video compared to the logitech one shown here.

    Question*

Anyone know a better HD Webcam for under 50$..?

    Please let me know!

  • i dnt use that true color shit at all i keep the focus and the contrast at 10 makes it more realistic its a good cam

  • Don't agree ... I think that you should check your software to get a better quality ! its too bad compared with all the other videos ...

  • Nice review, I currently own the logitech 900o pro, but if wouldn't own it already I'd probably buy the microsoft cinema the picture looks a bit clearer to me and I didn't notice that much difference in voice quality

  • Do it against a Logitec c910 vs Lifecam Studio and willl the ones you test or the ones i posted work on a Mac with Snow Leopard?

  • Do it against a Logitec c910 vs Lifecam Studio

  • the live cam is a lot clearer and the audio is 2 to 3 x better. Logitec have a lot of catching up to do i think. I have done reviews on many of the logitec webcams and found compared to the factors of simular price or quality so to be fair regarding the rule of what you pay for is what you get thoery. thank you so much for your review and all the best.

  • yah cant wait to get my lifecam cinema anyday nowww lolllllllll cost me 49 buks

  • speculating !!!! and wheres this easy to google skype hack for logi 9000 pro?

  • logitech sucks thats my opin i bought a logitech months back the video quality was shitty

  • Microsoft Lifecam Cinema = no mirror option wtf - everthing is backwards

  • 04:02 There's no encoding being done in the webcam itself. That would of course make them much more expensive.

  • What are the latest webcams which are HD 720p 30fps to work with skype...are the latest logitec HD cams have H.264 encoding to work with skype?...and if I am to get a 30FPS at HD 720p what kinda broadband speed should I have

  • good review...i'm looking for the best webcam with the best HD...looking at a 720p at around 30fps, if that is the best fps to work with skype...you got any ideas which might suit me best?...do the latest Logitec HD cams support H.264 to work with skype...if i am to get HD 720p 30fps, what kinda broadband speed should I have..

  • So does the webcam pero work in hd in skype?

  • @KoolCordell Currently the only Webcams that work in "HD" with Skype are cameras with H.264 encoding built into the camera. You can get any HD webcam work with Skype ( IN HD ) if you hack skype

  • @andranic I have a H.264 encoder box..now i want to use my camcorder as my wencam for skype can this will work? Thanks

  • Comment removed

  • @andranic totally incorrect information. The C910, C615, C525, C510, C310 and C270/C260 does support 720p HD video calling in Skype at 1280x720 resolution with 30fps framerate WITHOUT HACKING. The key is to have a computer that can handle doing so. I do HD skype calls for a living and I've tested them out myself and they work like a charm. Now that the C920 is coming out with the H264 built in encoder you can now do 1920x1080 video calling in HD at 30fps with H264 and Skype 5.7 and above.

  • @atvrider7 Thanks for the info.

  • lifecam rocks

  • Ohhh nice! The high tone of MS Cam is gone! Nice to "hear" it :)

  • lol your nerd cave is so cool

  • IMO Microsoft Lifecam Cinema looks a lot better then the Logitech Webcam Pro 9000!

  • What is the use of a cam review if the video is compressed?

  • System Requirements

    For Windows®-based PC

Windows® 7, Windows Vista®, Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (SP2) or higher (Excluding Windows XP 64-bit); minimum: Intel Dual-Core 1.6 GHz or higher, 1 GB of RAM; recommended: Intel Dual-Core 3.0 GHz or higher, 2 GB of RAM

  • Andrew, I can't tell you how beneficial this video was for me. I host a webcast show, and had been shopping around for a new HD webcam. I am so glad that I found your video review. Thanks!!

  • The 9000 audio sounds better to, its great Mic and a great camera!

  • Only HD cam that can do skype in HD is facevsion. That camera has built-in h264 and is MAC compatible (unlike microsoft lifecam). And it only costs just tad over logitech webcam pro 9000.

  • if you already have a laptop that came with a built in webcam ...and you buy the logitech pro 900 will the laptop read it or pick it up??!?!

  • If you listen to my older review of the camera it has a really bad buzz. It might of been fixed with the latest update

  • @andranic Hi, I just watched both reviews and found them very helpful and Im thinking of buying the Microsoft LifeCam Cinema Webcam for use on Skype.. my question is, you mentioned that you cannot use HD or Widescreen in Skype, when using it in Skype video call would the resolution be significantly lower than it is in your review video? Im looking for a webcam which doesnt have pixelated image or ghosting effect when I move.

  • @andranic for some reason both microsoft cameras from both reviews seem to have a buzz or hum that isnt heard on the logitech's softer mic.

  • Bro, the Logitech webcam mic sucks compared to the Cinema cam. The Cinema Cam is pretty clean. Are you hearing impaired? j/k

Seriously though the LifeCam Cinema is so much clearer. I agree that the software is somewhat lacking though. As a matter of fact I'm looking for another VidRenderer so that I can get the most out of this Cam. Is there something besides VidBlaster that you could recommend?

  • @Ceadderman The reason why im not a fan of the mic on the Lifecam is the really annoying Buzz . No matter what I do I cant figure out how to get rid of the buzz. I read somewhere that its a flaw with the mic.

  • @andranic I didn't have any problems with buzzing but I did notice the closer that you get to the Tower the more it would pick up the fans. I have my Cam mounted to the top of my monitor on the desk and my Tower is off the floor to the right of my desk. It's a HAF 932 so I have 3 huge 23cm fans and the Cinema is so sensitive that it picks up the whine from the top fan. I think that's the only flaw with it that I can think of.

Of course I just got it and am still tinkering so... :) lol

  • @andranic it is picking up the HZ form the lightsource of the monitor if you move the camera a bit you can reduce the noise. also make sure noise cancelation is on. it uses basicly the same mic as the microsoft headset

  • @andranic I'm thinking that your software pack isn't up to date. I've had mine since after you reviewed it and being a MS product it's included in my updates. I had that slight hiss when I first got it. After the main update I've been able to make adjustments in Properties and have taken not only some amazing shots but have done a few vids with it. My HAF vid though was horrible sounding, cause the fans kept blowing in the mic. My LCC is my only mic as I don't have a dedicated unit.

  • To use a different microphone all you have to do is right-click on the speaker in the lower-right hand corner on Windows Vista and 7 and click on recording devices. Just set which device you want to use as default and there you go.

  • I thought the audio on the lifecam cinema sounded clearer and stronger than the Logitech webcam pro 9000. I also thought the picture looked brighter and clearer on the Lifecam cinema

  • Which is the best webcam of these two to use with SKYPE? Is it possible to use MS Lifecam Cinema on SKYPE with a third party microphone? Thank you.

  • My computer is pretty good when it comes to other things, everything but the processor is pretty much top quality. Thank you.

  • Hello, very nice review. I have a small question, I currently own the Logitech webcam but I cant seem to get the picture quite as clear as yours, when I choose the HD quality the picture starts to get, how should I say it, small disturbances all over the screen, like every second dot of colour is missing and is replaced by a different random colour changing all the time. It's hard to explain. Is my computer too bad and if so, what do I need to replace? ....

  • IS THERE ANY NEW HD WEBCAMS COMING SOON

  • great video!! but when you switched to the Logitech.. there were pop's in the audio, and the video was very fuzzy.... what specs of computer do you recommend to use the lifecam on...

  • I got a question. Have you ever tried using the Lifecam Cinema with Sony Vegas? With Vegas, you can choose the camera you use and the soundcard (in my case, a mixer with condenser mics will be plugged into) you're recording from.. so have you tried doing that? Or when you do record with your separate mic, do you record the video and sound in separate programs THEN sync them afterwards? Thank you. (:

  • @TheJayDeeMusic I have not tried the lifecam cinema with Vegas. My main camera is a canon hf200.

  • @andranic yea that buss in the background sound is really annoying.

  • @TheJayDeeMusic Tried it with Vegas...can't find a way to do this. Any ideas...

  • @Brain2Me2 Have you tried.. Windows Movie Maker? I believe the camera is compatible with the program, and if I remember correctly, you can select what sound card you're recording from. And I believe Microsoft made the Lifecam compatible with the program. So try using the most updated version of Movie Maker and tell me how that goes. (:

  • does this web cam work with windows 7?? can someone tell me. my laptop is windows 7. i hear problems with windows 7 and this web cam.

  • @candyman298 Yes it works on 7 ....

  • @andranic ok men thank for ur response.

  • Great review, thanks. I'm going with the Lifecam for the video quality, price and form factor. I actually ordered the wrong Logitec 9000 cam from NewEgg like you warned and had to cancel my order. Thanks for the heads up.

  • webcam pro 9000 is badass look at my videos that what i used up to my new mac videos just make sure you turn off bright light an check the settings and use the logitech cd that comes with it

  • Im using my PC to record the video . I have tried everything to get them to work on the mac.. .no luck .. I know that Logitech makes a camera that works on the mac i think its the Vision Pro

  • @andranic Hey great review. I am very close to getting the Lifecam. I just want to confirm since you cannot use an external mic while recording a video, can you use one when you are webcasting live using the Lifecam? Thanks for the help and reviews.

  • @iSkywalkerP . Yup I never use the buil in mic . If you use a 3rd party software you can pick another mic to use. Its only the Lifecam software that doesnt allow you to do this

  • @andranic

will it the HD 720p lifecam work fine on my AMD athlon 64x2 dual core 3800 2.00 GHz????

And is the new HD-5000 better?

  • Thanks for this review, I see that you have a Mac laptop...are you using the Lifecam Cinema and Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 to record your video on your Mac? I tried using the Lifecam Cinema on my Mac using Parallels to run Windows 7 but I wasn't able to use the HD feature. Will the Quickcam Pro 9000 work on a MacBook Pro recording in HD without any lag? Thanks, I enjoy your shows!
