Kefka is a straight out and out badass, though.

@Grovajl that's true, but it doesn't mean that people who have played the originals won't enjoy Dissidia. sure, many of them don't like what Dissidia has done with some (maybe all) of the characters revealed in the series thus far. but it's also meant to be for wider interpretation of those select characters. ;) personally, I like the Dissidia games, but I will agree that some of the characters stray from the interpretation that gamers are supposed to have of the originals. :P

@Grovajl are you playing the SNES, GBA or PSX version? 'cause in the GBA version, there's more to do after Kefka's tower. (the Dragon's Den and Soul Shrine.) you know those strong dragon bosses you've fought so far? there are eight of them, the last few in Kefka's tower. the fun part is that in Dragon's Den, they come back even more powerful, and bring their mega-boss brother Kaiser with them. then in Soul Shrine, you have to beat them all AGAIN, Kaiser included, in a non-stop pit battle.

@CTSael Now I am playing the GBA version, with Gilgamesh (Oh FFV was my first FF I played ^^) and I know about the dragons but I did not get so far last time. I remember I beat red dragon (overpowered at first, but then he was pretty weak when the power faded) never got to Kaiser dragon. This time I am going to do it. Celes has Genji glove and Master's scroll, Edgar has continuous jump attack, Sabin has Genji Glove and counters, Terra doublecast, Shadow has HIGH evasion/magic evasion etc :))

@Grovajl I can offer you my strategy for Kaiser. first, make sure everyone is equipped to block most types of attacks. while fighting, cast Hastega, Shell, etc. on party, then decrease Kaiser's speed as well. have your DualCaster use a spell+Quick, which allows for two more DualCasts. this is good for giving your entire team ReRaise, or to just spam your best spells. be sure to always keep your HP high, 'cause Kaiser casts Ultima when he dies. (my team is Edgar, Terra, Relm and Shadow.) ;)

@Grovajl my Edgar is a Dragoon as well, so your set-up for him is the same as mine. what weapon is Celes equipped with? if it's not Save the Queen, you might want to switch to that. in all regards to Celes, she is far more of a mage than a physical fighter, but that also depends on how you boosted her stats with Esper bonuses. I would suggest giving her more of a mage set-up or substituting either Relm or Sabin, because their most powerful attacks rely on their magic stats. (this is all opinion)

@CTSael I boosted Celes' strenght(not many members can use ultima weapon)I also found the zantetsuken blade,so she has both.I will steal another Ultima weapon later.My mages are Terra,Relm and I boosted Setzer's magic too.I will rely on defense-ignoring swords :) Edgar is awesome dragoon,just like Bartz and Kain,gotta love Kain.I also gave my Shadow Zephyr cloak, memento ring and evasive armor so he has evasion 108 magic evasion 89 and he counters with shield,cloak,sword and dog <3

@Grovajl it's your own way of doing things, so don't let other people tell you different. but it sometimes a good idea to ask for advice or tips once in a while. I did it too, when I first played it on the SNES quite some time ago. I remember having a crappy time in the Phoenix Cave, so my older brother had helped me with it. now it's a cakewalk. ;) and besides, defense-ignoring tactics are the key to a lot of FFVI battles, whether they be swords or spells. enjoy your dragon slaying! :D

@CTSael I also played SNES version but not PSX, I heard that there will be Omega after beating Kaiser Dragon and also that in PSX version Shadow shows face to Strago, but I did not experience this yet :) And in my SNES version Kefka used juicy words like bitch etc. ^^;

@Grovajl concerning Shadow and Strago, this unfortunately is not a sequence in the game at all. it was revealed in an interview with Squaresoft in 1995 to confirm the hints during gameplay of Shadow being Relm's father. Strago: "...Show me your face. Even if you are him, I have no intention of wasting time trying to talk you into staying. I just want to know... for Relm's sake." Shadow complies, but the player can't see his face. Strago: "Thank you... Shadow. ...Come, let's have a drink."
