Hey guys how come some content has a block looking pink icon on the bottom right corner? what does that mean? And also in some albums it doesn't let me download or listen to the songs, they appear grayed out, yes i have a zune pass
@kendy4 I'm not sure about the pink icon - I don't know what you're referring to. As for songs not being available for download, that's normal: unfortunately due to licensing issues, not all music in the Marketplace collection is available for download via Zune Pass. :-(
You're kidding, right? The iPod scroll wheel is an awful, spastic way of controlling the device. The Zune Pad is far easier to use and less prone to shooting past the item you wanted to select.
I can be defined as an Apple fan, i have a iMac and love it, but have Vista and enjoy that to. I have an iPhone and love it. I feel as far as Zune 120 vs Classic 120 the classic seems almost forgotten in the iPod lineup, hardly a thing is updated, that combined with Microsofts backwards compatible software updates make me currently plan to get a 120GB Gears of War 2 Zune.
APPLE DOESN'T SUCK which is why Microsoft is trying to copy all their ideas. Let me know when Microsoft comes up with an idea of their own and then I'll have a bit more respect.
No, not officially. No word on that yet - it's finally coming to Canada in Q1 or Q2 of this year, so hopefully we'll see it in other places around the world by the end of 2008. It will certainly work in Australia though, you just can't easily get access to Zune Marketplace content.
Wow! With all that snazzy music and those nerds that worked on the thing talking it up, I think the iPod is screwed! Come on, obviously the guys that made the friggin thing are going to talk it up, they aren't going to say "Ah this is shit! I prefer my iPod" Silly Microsoft... They could have at least paid people that don't work for Microsoft to talk it up...

you know what? that "wireless sync" can just be activated when it is plugged into a charging unit. Only Microsoft can come out with a "wireless" that needs to be wired.
Wrong. You can activate the wireless sync manually, without being plugged into power, any time you want from the wireless menu. It's just that the AUTOMATIC wireless sync happens when you plug it into power. Maybe you should learn something about the Zune before you make up stories about it?
Well I hope that Zune will integrate nicely with Amarok, and the developers can provide binaries for Linux so that it will be able to be used by people like me. Or just provide the source of course :)
Fuck yea, this video is great and very convincing to getting you to buy a Zune, I was thinking about getting one before this and now I'm surely getting one.
And besides, iPods are the most mainstream shits out there, now we have something new and better.
@Killemall04 PFFFT well... mainstream yeah of course...they are everywhere.... but thats cause they are great :3! .... and your zune wont have as many games... and well in the ipod touch now facetime :3! .... which is great cause i do use that a lot now :P .... lots of ipod users :P sorry dont think the zune is ready to be better than the ipod yet <.< ...its good just.... nto as good
the new zune marketplace is 5x itunes. You can put your zunecard on myspace, facebook, whatever you want. from that little flash app everyone can listen to music you've been listening to see your favorites customizable. I want a zune80 so bad....
wireless sharing why not Infrared Port or bluetooth i don't know if you get my point but i talking music sharing .. by the way i have the zune 30 and to be honest i can wait to get my hand on the zune 80 yep need more for movies!!
Infrared, and Blutooth 1.x, are both much too slow. WiFi is really the only option, though Bluetooth 2.0 starts to make sense at some point...but only if it's fast and easy, which Bluetooth sometimes isn't. ;-)
Until you've actually *tried* the Zune pad, it's kind of silly to say it's bad, don't you think? It's got all the advantages of the iPod wheel, and more.
The "Zune Pad" isn't bad, but it is very very similar to the iPod's Click Wheel, and the part of: "It's got all the advantages and more", What you mean with: "MORE"?
One last thing...Why it dosn't work with OS X ?
New Conclution: The iPod still better on some aspects, but it dosn't mean the Zune is bad.
By "more" I mean you can use it as a touch pad OR a physical click pad. Myself, I've never been comfortable with the iPod control, I find it too hard to be accurate with it and always over-shoot a song. You can use the Zune pad in a sweeping motion, a la iPod (even better I think because the up/down motion is more natural than cicular) then when you want to be super accurate, you just use it like a click pad. So, best of both worlds.
Why doesn't it work with OS X? I'd guess one simple reason: what Mac user will pick a Microsoft product over an Apple product? Microsoft is just being realistic, while I think any Mac user complaining about no Mac support is probably not seriously considering a Zune.
I'm using Mac OS X and have expressed my dislike of iTunes plenty of times (its slow and trying to be too much more than just a music hub). If Zune worked well on OS X, I'd be one of the first to pick it up. Maybe I'm alone. Who knows?
Integrate Zune with iLife like Google did when they offered an iPhoto plug-in for Picasa... Great!
Most average consumers don't even know that Zune is made by Microsoft any more than they know (or care) that XBox 360 is made by Microsoft.
It's a tough call - Microsoft has so much work yet to be done with the Zune, I don't know if they're ready to spend development time on the Mac market where most people buy strictly Apple products - Mac users interested in the Zune are a niche of a niche...
Things You'll Never Here:
Customer: Could you help me, I'm here to buy an iPod.
Shop Guy: I have something that's better than an iPod. It's called a Zune.

Yes, it comes with several games - five to be exact. You can't buy and download games though - it's not like the iPod Touch.

I have said it before, I will say it again. Run Windows buy a Microsoft Zune. Own an Apple Computer buy an Apple iPod.
Sweetguy9009 3 years ago
When will it have Mac-support?!
iTunes is an increasingly-bloated and slow piece of software; and iPods were cool for me, um... 2 years ago.
Zune software was cool, pretty and fast (once I figured out how to use it). And the device is slick.
Bring it to a Mac, dang it!

I will say the bad things and the good things:
Bad:
This Video it's like the first iPod promotional video, the people only say: Wow, Wow, Wow etc.
Second Thing: The "Zune Pad", what the... it's a kind of a square Click Wheel.
Good:
The wireless sync is excelent.
You can share with other people your music.
Conclusion: The iPod is better.
