@TheJonesyboii Airlines do not care about look, and every Boeing is technologically behind Airbus as pilot can crash any Boeing plane by simple error.
@TheJonesyboii Just few days ago Boeing 737 dived thousands of feet after pilot accidentally adjusted rudder which made plane to roll. In Airbus this kind of scenario is not possible as they are more technologically advanced, computer prevents pilot from stalling and overbanking the plane.
@TheJonesyboii Idiot, airlines do not give a shit about what plane looks, but how economical it is. 747-8i is not more economical and cant carry as much passengers than A380, and also pretty much every plane can use bio fuel. Airlines are buying Airbus more than Boeing, this year Airbus has sold more planes than Boeing and did so in last year too, so the fact is that Airbus is being more successful. Also technologically Boeings are far away from Airbus, simple pilot error can crash Boeing.
Normally I'll fly 2 times each year to visit my family and from my experience EVA Air is good and most of the time were always smooth landing. Never had a heavy landing much. Also service and the cabincrews are nice.
@TheJonesyboii HAHA! Yeah right, what I told you were FACTS, yours were opinions. :) Umm and what do you mean by "everything else"? The Airbus 380 is more efficient, greener to the environment plus it has a much better payload! so um no, the A380 has "everything else".
You people should try the A-380 if you think this was hard. Three times i have been flying with Singapore Airlines on their A-380 between Singapore and Sydney and every landing i had is worse than this even with minor turbulence. That huge piece of crap seems impossible to land without bouncing along the runway in cloud of tire smoke. A-380 is just big, nothing else is good about it.
@Sooksawaspakdee961 MAYBE YOUVE HAD BAD EXPERIANCES, BUT LET EM TELL YOU SOMETHING, THE A380 BY FAR LANDS SOFTER THAT THE 747, BOTH ARE GREAT! BUT LOOK IT UP AND YOU WILL FIND GREAT A380 LANDINGS.
You should remember that pilots are trying to land the plane. This wasn't the best conditions for that. With that visibility you can barely see in front of your face. Also the 747 is quite a large aircraft. Even though its not a regulation to let the Autopilot ILS function touchdown the plane. That could have been the case here, but I doubt it.
@SaelPalani Yeah. Same here. When I went to Dallas, there was fog, so I didn't know where the airport (DFW) was. Then we made a very hard landing, which took me by surprise.
I'm traveling from LAX to CGK with Eva air in no time. I still can't believe that Eva's 747400 combi has only one big screen shared for everybody. That is so old school. But the 747 from LAX to TPE has personal screens right? Anyone? Help? I'm freking out.. Thanks!
@stewardlie iv flown eva 747 and it does not hace personal TV's, but u dont have to worry cause they only use the 777-300ER's for LAX to TPE =) sorry kinda late but hope it helped.
@stewardlie DONT WORRY, FIRST OFF ALL, THE ALL NEW 777-300ER HAS SCREENS FOR EVERYONE(LAX TO CGX ONLY USES THE NEW 777-300ER) SO DONT WORRY. SECOND OF ALL, EVERY 777-300ER THAT EVAAIR GETS FROM TIME TO TIME, IT TURNS ONE OF THE COMBI INTO CARGO. SO YOULL BE FINE
that was not a hard landing that was a LOUD landing. and I'm pretty sure that was an Autoland because the airplane didn't move at all in the transition from fog to visibility like it would if the pilots were hand flying.
@coltsuperocean10 Oh crap....sorry for that dude. I would seriously go back in time and slap myself for posting that haha. I really do apologise for what I said a year ago :) I will delete it also
Amsterdam sucks it's always gloomily rainy and foggy and I'd probably compliment the pilots for landing it hella hard cuz I'm sick of the B747-400M that piece of shit I flew it many times with no legspace in economy class their B777-300ER owns. They can sell those jets or convert them to full freight operation.
Oh yeah I had flight Br18 from Taipei to San Francisco and that pilot made a hard landing with the 777 B-16709, but when I had Br7 to Taipei from SFO on a 747 Combi the pilot made a landing soft enough that I couldn't even feel it - everyone applauded it.
@TheJonesyboii Yes ofc as Boeing had almost monopoly for tens of years with only few competitors.

@TheJonesyboii Yes, but during last years Airbus has got most orders which means that TODAY airbus is leading.

@TheJonesyboii No they are not. Airbus sells better and is ahead.

A soft landing doesn't mean a good landing ! In rainy conditions it's better to make a "positive touchdown" (Not hard) in stead of a kiss landing !

I accidentally did something like that fliying an EVA AIR B777-300ER on FSX yesterday on a TPE - SFO route.
albeezy001 2 years ago
I also notice that EVA AIR pilots leave their spoilers up and their flaps down while doing the post-landing roll taxi.
I do that all the time on Flight Simulator.
