the harmonies, the orchestration, the songwriting, i could go on and on ...not a lot of great stuff going on in pop/rock the last 15 years or so...shame about this guys tragic end ...now beck has to "go it alone"
@LanceHelmut Frankly, Beck isn't even close. He has his moments ("Tropicalia" is amazing"), but he's not consistently tuneful, and the near constant insincerity hinders him from being among the best.
@KingCrimson776 since you're named after king crimson you have my utmost respect...guess beck doesn't do it for you..stylistically he's far removed from the e.s. been buying music since 1964..sea change and mutations are on my 2nd shelf right next to figure 8 , basement on a hill and xo. my top shelf is pepper/revolver electric ladyland and # 1 with a bullet ..imperial bedroom by elvis costello
I may remember incorrectly, but I read a story that people on his official website Sweet Adeline covered this song to send to Elliott. They also made a scrapbook for him to know how much his music and lyrics meant to them. He did get it and was reportedly very touched and appreciative. So for all of you who wish you got the chance to tell him (myself included), I bet he knows it, I bet he feels it. RIP Elliott.
this man touches me, he is the most talented musician i've ever heard, the best....theres no words in my simple mind to describe how amazing he was, i wish he was still here, R.I.P Elliott.
brutal brilliant people are so fickle.

i started listening to him just months after he died, elliotts music helped me through every single time i put the needle down.
it's been over a year now, and his music is still and always will be the best.
i think i can speak for everyone when i say:
THANK YOU ELLIOTT FOR EVERYTHING

i wish i could go back in time and bust in his apartment, grab the knife away, give him a hug, and go to rehab with him.
