@LanceHelmut Frankly, Beck isn't even close. He has his moments ("Tropicalia" is amazing"), but he's not consistently tuneful, and the near constant insincerity hinders him from being among the best.

I miss Elliott Smith and I didn't personally know him.

I may remember incorrectly, but I read a story that people on his official website Sweet Adeline covered this song to send to Elliott. They also made a scrapbook for him to know how much his music and lyrics meant to them. He did get it and was reportedly very touched and appreciative. So for all of you who wish you got the chance to tell him (myself included), I bet he knows it, I bet he feels it. RIP Elliott.

i started listening to him just months after he died, elliotts music helped me through every single time i put the needle down.

it's been over a year now, and his music is still and always will be the best.
