fishing from shore.amateurs usually do that, maybe u should stick to flyfishing, maybe give the rod to your woman and she can show us how to catch fish!
I use a silver Spoon it has a feather on it and i catch quite a few things on it but when i use my bronze one with no feather i dont catch as much is there actually a reason why ? my silver spoon is my lucky spoon :)
@Br8km3dwn Stick with the silver spoon... lol ;) It could be a variety of reasons. I usually choose the spoon colour based on the water clarity/colour. If the water is crystal clear, then silver spoon it is. If it is coloured, then a darker spoon like copper, bronze is used. The feather on the hook articulates so it creates a pretty attractive motion, trout and steelhead seem to like that a lot. Good luck!
@fishingwithrod Ever try using a thomas buoyant? I do quite well with Watermelon, in the 1/6 Oz size. Everyone always tells me my spoon is too big lol
hey fishing with rod guy i aded you as my friend since you asked. im superfisherman56 and i really enjoy your chanel and loking forward to some new vids.
@fishermen4life1 This is a pretty common method used for all lakes that are stocked with catchable rainbow trout. If you are in Vancouver, lakes that are worth trying with this method include: Sasamat Lake, Buntzen Lake, Deer Lake, Lafarge Lake, Como Lake, Rice Lake, Mill Lake, Browning Lake, Green Timbers Lake, Alice Lake, Brohm Lake, Edith Lake. Check out our website as well as the blog section to read more about it.
There are a dozen or so lakes around Vancouver that provide stocked rainbow trout fishery such as this one in the video. This particular lake is Edith Lake in Squamish. Other lakes include Alice Lake, Rice Lake, Como Lake, Lafarge Lake, Green Timbers Lake, Mill Lake, Sasamat Lake, Buntzen Lake, Rolley Lake, Whonnock Lake. If you go to our website, click on articles, then "Region 2 fishing locations", you will find information on all of these lakes.
not if he sets the hook like that he will just break line. Drag is fine enough to set a hook anyway. What he should do tho is not reel in while the fish is running or engaging drag because then all that is happening is the bail is spinning the line but not actually taking in line there for only twisting the line. You use the rod to bring fish towards you then bring up some line... and repeat. Maybe put some action on the spoon too, the odd jerk makes the bait look injured.
Hello Rod, great video's you have. Stocked ponds are great to fish with kids and your family. One thing to point out folks is to watch how Rod is keeping a low profile, he is hiding beside that tree kneeling low to the ground.
He is out of sight of the fish which is key to not spooking fish stocked or not stocked. His odds greatly improve with this tactic.
lol i went fishing in a small about 1/8 of a foot ball field and cought 7 trout in 8 minuts using wolly buggers. lol but fell in the water. the longest was about 15 inches.
We were just using these regular 1/8oz nickel plated spoons with a stripe of powder paint (either orange, blue, green or purple) that I have applied on them. There is a photo of it in the latest entry of our website's blog right now.
awesome video bud!

Tighten your drag and you will not lose the fish. The drag slipped when you set the hook.
Bbkflys 2 years ago
... thats horrible advice.
Let the drag slip. It gives you room should the fish decide to take off, your line wont break.
