Plus, he takes the measure to be on the other lane was he passes - thus making his filtering safe. He is also not passing them too fast. And hes not swerving - hes calmly and subtly switching lanes.

If you ride your bike between two vehicles and you get sideswiped by one of them, it is 100% your fault. The line dividing the two lanes is just a few inches wide and the cars on either side of it are legally allowed to drift up to the line. If the two vehicles drift towards the line at the same time, unless your motorcycle (and body) is only a few inches wide, you will become the creamy filling in an Oreo.
