No dish, raw or not comes close to Kitfo, of Ethiopian Gurgue tribe. Marcus Sameulsson the famous Swidish/Ethiopian Master chef who cooked for the Obamas state dinner wrote in his cook book that Kitfo is the best thing he ever tested.

Ethiopia have a very diverse culture with over 80 different languages where three of them are majors spoken by millions.Ethiopia have indigenous people only few members ,their own language and their tradition...(who by the way have great value in the genetic study of our origin cuz of their pure gene pool)!! It would be very wrong to generalize a culture in Ethiopia.(I`m just tired of PPL asking me what blood tests like! LOL)

a small advise to that man who is complaining about not getting enough food from "aid", work that land and grow something. from what i can see the land seems very fertile.. instead of telling your problems to a complete stranger whos only interest is to use you. also dont worry about bad luck about eating the cattles...trust me cows are very eatable. and i dont meant to be judgmental but the whole blood business is kind of sick.

Yes, but it ain't easy to feed a family when you face recurrent droughts and locust migrations interspersed with periods of flooding, plus soil degredation, deforestation and the fact that rural Ethiopians can't afford any good farm equipment or irrigation systems. I agree with you about aid organizations, though. They drive foreign investors away from Ethiopian companies and scare off tourists, who would normally contribute a lot of revenue to the place, like they do in Kenya and Tanzania.

Germans, Ukrainians, Russians, Polish <-- all use blood in sausages - but they COOK it. All I'm saying is don't drink it RAW.
Also, back in Russia we had these really cool delicious 'candy' bars for people with low hemoglobin/blood iron - made from bull blood (u could get them at a pharmacy) - I still miss those little things =)
