I do not know who knew it was in there, but yes, it is real. And we know about it. Eric obviously was not fired as he worked for us many years later, this is an early episode. Got a little slap on the wrist.

They ruin every anime that they get there hands on with either having disgraceful voice actors, removing anything remotely Japanese in the show, messing up entire plots, ruining the characters. or censoring the content too much. A prime example of this would be One Piece. It is 10 times better in Japanese along with many other anime.
