I don't actually know anything about this man, so I can't really put a valid point into any arguments, however, keep in mind that if a man trains with his falsetto, he can learn to sing the soprano part just as well as any female. Thus, we have countertenors.
-shrug- Idk if that's even relevant to his case, but whatever.xD
Witam serdecznie. Wczoraj zupełnie przypadkiem obejrzałam w tv Kultura dokument zatytuowany "Sopranista" Jestem Pana talentem i osobą w ogóle zafascynowana. Zyczę wszystkiego najlepszego, przede wszystkim dużo zdrowia i niekończącej się radości z artyzmu jaki Pan wykonuje. Pozdrawiam
If he can sing baritone, it follows that his voice did break--young children cannot sing baritone. He is apparently a baritone-falsettist countertenor, and this clip is sung in falsetto (quite well, too,)
Dariusz Paradowski is a male soprano, currenty singing as sopranist. His voice didn't break as you were discussing and this is the phenomen- it's not even explained by doctors how this is possible. This allow him to sing both- in baritone and soprano scale. He is sopranist because of his choice. He is still able to sing baritone. He is extrmely talented and he's also an amazing voice teacher. I used to be his student...
And how exactly can you sing baritone if your voice doesn't break? Bear in mind that I am not asking why, but HOW. An unbroken voice cannot sing baritone. Ever heard a 9-year-old sing baritone? I don't think so.
I'm very sorry, but it seems like everybody wants to be unique >:( I'm a little bit tired of this kind of speculations, really. Even castrati used falsetto to rich their highest notes. And how is that possible for a non-castrated adult man to sing in a soprano range without using of falsetto? Mysterious "unique unbroken voice" sounds like a fairytale to me. It's just ridiculous >:(
@countertenors If he used "falseto" (in fact head voice/ contre tenor), it would be the most beautiful proof that contre tenors can equal to male soprano…
I have two solutions for that mystery:
1. His natural, "modal" range is: whole contralto (small octave and up to c'''). So he can sing soprano and tenor (not baritone- it is exaggeration).
2. The same theory as in first point but whole about perfect fourth lower; the last soprano notes as head voice (“falsetto”) with perfect connection.
@lalagonegaga It would be curious to know if he started off with a high voice which, through time, got lower and that is why he can sing baritone. I recall, in my situation, that my voice never broke either. I sang soprano too in my 20's. I sounded like a girl when I talked. Now that I have gotten much older, my voice has dropped but I can still hit very high notes. I know of this young kid (don't recall his name) who sings tenor stuff and he hasn't reached puberty yet. Sings arias.
my speaking voice is a high tenor like maniaci.......... and i use pure chest voice to sing in soprano like boys do or castrati did, maniaci uses some head voice like female do...... you can listen to me in my profile, im an amateur though.
Yes, but you also do seem to have potential, so I'm sure your effort will be worth while. Just keep up the good work and I'll keep an eye on your channel for new uploads. ;)
Do you know Michael Maniaci? (You can find on YT film about him). Paradowskis voice is unique, after voice breaking his voice stay in soprano register whitout using falsetto and adds to this full baritone range. Paradowski and Maniaci are similar cases. I know only this two guys in whole world that can do that. Not everything in this world is explainable ;) Greetings
I'm sorry, but Maniaci says that his vocal cords didn't thicken to the extent that most men experience, so he speaks as a very high tenor (or even in alto range) and sings as a soprano.
Paradowski's speaking voice is a baritone, as far as I know. That means, that his voice did break, so to sing in soprano range he must use only a part of his vocal cords, and that is a falsetto.
I never said that they are the same cases but similar. Of course you have right-Paradowskis speaking voice is baritone but I know polish coloraura soprano which her speaking voice is baritone. As I said earlier not everything is explainable such as cow with two heads (I saw that ;) ).
Basically, countertenor is an umbrella term for every classicaly trained male vocalist who sings in falsetto. So technically, Paradowski is a countertenor, as well as a sopranist. :)
No. Sopranist is definition reserved for man who doesn't use falsetto and countertenor is reserved for man who sing using technic similar to falsetto. Paradowski don't use falsetto. If you know his biography you must know that he can sing soprano in his normal register even after voice breaking. ;)
Hmmm, ok, I will desist from further comments and invite anyone more informed on the subject than I to explain how can someone still sing in the soprano range (after his voice breaks) without using falsetto. Of course, I automatically assume that by "breaking" we are reffering to a man's voice dropping to the tenor / baritone / bass range.
I'm sorry, but where did you get so strange definition of the "sopranist" term? :) If a boy was not castrated, and his voice actually broke, there is no other opportunity for him to sing in alto or soprano range except of using of falsetto. Paradowski doesn't look like a castrato, so he is falsettist. There is no other option, I fear :)
That`s true. he does use falsetto. He started as a baritone, a good one and then he discovered his ability to sing soprano so he went on and it was his new challenge. His falsetto is different, though, way richer and "muscled". He uses techniques very similar to female sopranos. If you listen to Daniels and the like, they use a real falsetto, which means they`ve kept their boy`s voices. What Paradowski posseses, it`s more than this, that`s why he`s unique.
Well, it all comes down to different physical predispositions (the size and shape of your vocal aparatus and the resonating cavities) and the tecnique you are tought. Just compare Andreas Scholl to Arno Raunig. Both use falsetto. But their sound is sooo different. I guess Scholl was trained like a countertenor, by a countertenor, and thus posseses that kind of obvious falsetto sound, while Raunig or Paradowski were trained in the same way as female singers are and aimed at that kind of sound.
So we think in a similar way. I dare add that I know Paradowski well, as he was my daughter`s maestro. She`s quite an awesome coloratura and I saw Dariusz "at work". I also like Scholl, but Paradowski is my favourite, for sure.
Thank you for your comment! May I ask you a question? I read, that at 17 Dariusz still sang as a soprano, and he also sang as a soprano at his exams in Gdansk, but you wrote that he started as a baritone. So my information is wrong? :(

I was at his concert and the MC told the audience that this is actually something different from a falsetto, but I did not really get his point...
