I have met a couple of genuine psychopaths and they did NOT seem like normal people. All the right "parts" were there, but were not quite in the right places. Like a song with one or two notes off-key. Very important notes but not so loud you notice them straight away. One was a sexual predator and the other an extremely violent bully. The bully is now serving a long sentence in prison and the sex-predator is God-knows-where.
In college I had a job, the boss was an utter psychopath. I was amazed how insane, manipulative and ruthless the man was. Hes from a family with recorded mental problems. Hes definately capable of killing a person. Unfortunately that job was the first time I opened my eyes and seen them. I met more psychopaths after that. More common then people will accept. Usually when dramatic events happen like a coworker/friend getting ill or dying you will spot the psychopaths. They will lack empathy.
Good point, and one I agree with. I watched a TV on this subject and one of the expert shrinks they interviewed pointed out how common they really are, adding that even a personality like Hitler is not that unusual. Hitler's unique place in history came when he had a chance to impose his mentality on the world, but guys like him are born all the time.
I agree, Hitler had so many supporters. He wasnt an isolated incident. He had working people like doctors, teachers, police officers (basicly everyday people we see as the good guys) get up and wanting to kill even children and women. Good thing for tough laws and goverment to hold back most psychopaths, but history has shown if there arent good laws and goverment what some humans are capable of.
