Her father is Indian and her mother Polish, so is of Indian descent. And very lovely too! The World Unseen is a great film and book too if you haven't read/seen that. Also Shamim Sarif's other book 'Despite the Falling Snow', is an utterly AMAZING AMAZING book!!! I can't recommend that enough!! It is better than TWU and ICTS. And you're welcome! :D

WHAT IS THE BOOK ABOUT?

@tny86 Despite the Falling Snow? It is about a man who meets a new woman later in life, and begins to tell the story of his wife and the mystery relating to her death. It flits from present day (in New York) to the past (in Russia) - it is very well written and one of the best books I have read in a long time. The other main character in it is the man's granddaughter who is gay.
