We are lucky that this destructive age of guitars is over for a large part. It didn't make good sounds, it insulted the makers of these nice instruments and assumed we would have fun watching a wasteful thing.

I saved for many years to buy a Stratocaster.

It would be nice to see films not destroy cars either. I am not a wimp, but it adds no value to the film.

The best part of the solo was when he was playing with his shoe. I have seen brilliant Blackmore before- but lots of ego more often than not. I think I enjoyed the comeback tour in the mid 80's better than when they were so loaded. He broke the guitar to put it out of it's misery.

Blackmore was a great player. But it always bothered me when I would see him try to do his "Hendrix" mash ups.

He did not have the same vibe, the shamanistic voodoo sex thing to pull that off. I mean, the man quit Purple cuz it was getting "too funky", yet he wants to be Hendrix. Very odd. He is a great player, I wish he was not such an ass.

Ritchie was VERY erratic and unpredictable live. As a general rule his studio recordings are vastly better than his live performances. Live, he was (is?) generally rat-arsed drunk. The fact is Ritchie Blackmore has recorded more awesome guitar solos than any other guitarist I have ever heard. He has the touch, the feel, the sense of what is appropriate.
