I have a 15 year old Calico that I named Nettie. I call her my little black child because when I pick her up and plop her on her back in my arms, she just purrs! 2 years ago we found out she is diabetic. How is it possible to love a cat this much? Love to you too, Chris

I once had a tomcat Daan, who had diabetic also. I gave him 2 injections a day. You know, I had great support at a yahoo group, where they have a diabetes group for cats. The last ride mine pup had was not a peaceful one, it was not peaceful for my ride home or many a days thereafter w/ out him, so I know the loss, such wonderful companion he was & animals a more special companion because they dont judge on appearance of body or materialism, but character, a trait so often not found in human hearts. Dear Mary, thank you so much. She had a good life with us, and I am thankful for that. And thankful that we can go to the vet, if necessary, although I prefer also animals to go themselves when it is their time, but when they suffer towards the end, I don't feel doubts to let go, my friend. Than it is only for them being Free!

Yes she was happy here. When I drove back home from the vet, she was in a little box besides me. I have a great vet, she lives about 11 km from our place.

Sorry to hear about Nettie. They become such a huge part of our lives. It's sad to let them go - but knowing there is no more pain for them - we know its the best thing to do. I had two cats - Bogart and Marvin for 20 years, and David had Oreo for 16. We felt such a loss when they were gone. Now we have Neo - he's 9 and we love him. In fact I just gave him a bath ! He didn't like me for a couple of hours !

You are so right Barb, they belong to the family. I was very busy with her, trying to let her eat still. She was eating with one of my cats, called Rakker. He didn't eat properly either. After Nettie is gone, he starts to eat so very much, haha. Strange, isn't it? I feel very okay about that, haha!
RIP Nettie. I am so sorry for your loss. I used to have a kitten bitten by a street dog. I had tried to euthanize her but no vain. There was no doctor in Burma willing to do it for us. She suffered for a few weeks before she died. It was so upsetting for me to watch her suffer, and her death was a release for me. Wow, you drove by the most beautiful place on earth. I love the green trees!!!! And your singing and music were terrific!!!!

Dear Derek, she was as light as a feather, and was still eating the day before, but she was so weak. I had to do this for her. And you know, I am so thankful that we are able to let them go, if necessary. Nettie had a great time here.

Sorry to hear about your friend Roeleke, may Nettie rest in peace. We lost three of our pets (two dogs and a cat) all within a year from old age. The cat we had for 27 years, the whole time we've been married and the dogs were both about 15 years old. We lost them last year. I had to put one asleep and the others just died on their own. We've now rescued a cute little miniature pincher named Spike and another beautiful cat named Fluffy. Animals help give meaning to our life's. Mark

Yes, I had my experiences too with letting them go. 3 months after George passed away, my bengal Makepiece had her deathstruggle in the night, and that was the worst time for me ever. I though can accept when the struggle is over. I went with her to the vet to let her go more easily. (thinking of your big loss too my friend!)

aww, I'm sorry Roe, she was so sweet & cute, the vid lookt like a respectable ride in the one vehicle we all hate to see.. The last ride mine pup had was not a peaceful one, it was not peaceful for my ride home or many a days thereafter w/ out him, so I know the loss, such wonderful companion he was & animals a more special companion because they dont judge on appearance of body or materialism, but character, a trait so often not found in human hearts. On June 1992 the week of my birthday I received my cat Bambi she is still alive she is 17 years old now ! A few months ago I thought I was going to lose her she could not stand up! I grow catnip for all the animals! Catnip is for everything out there! I brought in cat nip put it all around her! They dont have to eat it ! it needs to be around for them to breath! That morning ! Dear Mary, thank you so much. She had a good life with us, and I am thankful for that. And thankful that we can go to the vet, if necessary, although I prefer also animals to go themselves when it is their time, but when they suffer towards the end, I don't feel doubts to let go, my friend. Than it is only for them being Free!

And the green in these surroundings is just wonderful. Although it is long (11 km) for a cat to be in the car, I can drive slowly there, about 60 km an hour.

Yes she was happy here. When I drove back home from the vet, she was in a little box besides me. I have a great vet, she lives about 11 km from our place.
This way of making music just fits to me, just improvise everything. :-)

Sorry to hear about Nettie. They become such a huge part of our lives. It's sad to let them go - but knowing there is no more pain for them - we know its the best thing to do. I had two cats - Bogart and Marvin for 20 years, and David had Oreo for 16. We felt such a loss when they were gone. Now we have Neo - he's 9 and we love him. In fact I just gave him a bath ! He didn't like me for a couple of hours !

Nettie was a special cat for me, having patient with each other, she getting used to live with us here. But there is no pain anymore, so it is. You are so right Barb, they belong to the family. I was very busy with her, trying to let her eat still. She was eating with one of my cats, called Rakker. He didn't eat properly either. After Nettie is gone, he starts to eat so very much, haha. Strange, isn't it? I feel very okay about that, haha!

RIP Nettie. I am so sorry for your loss. I used to have a kitten bitten by a street dog. I had tried to euthanize her but no vain. There was no doctor in Burma willing to do it for us. She suffered for a few weeks before she died. It was so upsetting for me to watch her suffer, and her death was a release for me. Wow, you drove by the most beautiful place on earth. I love the green trees!!!! And your singing and music were terrific!!!!

Dear Derek, she was as light as a feather, and was still eating the day before, but she was so weak. I had to do this for her. And you know, I am so thankful that we are able to let them go, if necessary. Nettie had a great time here.
I am relieved that she doesn't suffer anymore.

Sorry to hear about your friend Roeleke, may Nettie rest in peace. We lost three of our pets (two dogs and a cat) all within a year from old age. The cat we had for 27 years, the whole time we've been married and the dogs were both about 15 years old. We lost them last year. I had to put one asleep and the others just died on their own. We've now rescued a cute little miniature pincher named Spike and another beautiful cat named Fluffy. Animals help give meaning to our life's. Mark

Dear Chris, For me it is normal to take care of animals if possible.
But you know, animals give us so much, they just accept us the way we are. I think they are great examples for us, to be real.

i thought I should tell you that,I thought too how strange that such a code word was needed to comment on a dearly loved cat of Roeleke,I am sorry to hear about the demise of Nettie. I have been there several times with my pets too. Gee how it hurts,but they are never gone, just seperated.Many are the times when I have caught a glimpse in the corner of my eye of more that one of my departed friends.

Dear David, you are so right, you know I just wrote at Jolanda her comment, that our friend Tom wrote, our beloved are in a world besides ours, and I think animals too. Yes, I had my experiences too with letting them go. 3 months after George passed away, my bengal Makepiece had her deathstruggle in the night, and that was the worst time for me ever. I though can accept when the struggle is over. I went with her to the vet to let her go more easily. (thinking of your big loss too my friend!)

Hello my dear ones, so good that you are here! Nettie was in a box in the cage besides me when I drove back home. And you know, it felt okay, and peaceful. I drove home in easy speed. You see the Bluefx effect, thanks to you?? :-)
