I was on his show last year, and he was very fair. As the defendent, I felt a little nervous about the whole thing, but Judge Young put me very much at ease, and I actually won the case, and got paid too. Go Judge Young. You rock!!!

These TV judges are not real judges any more. They may have been in the past, but they are now TV performers for TV studios and, though the disputes may be pulled from real cases, there is no real legal authority. The people in the court audience are simply guests, not other litigants like in a real court, and the courtroom is just a stage set. The litigants are paid a paltry sum for their appearances plus travel, lodging, and meals.
Remember, these shows are NOT real courts. They are stage sets for TV production seeking ratings. I did a Judge Joe Brown episode, and it was shockingly FAKE. They even had pre-scripted the outcome before we even taped the show. The courtroom is cardboard, contact paper, and plywood. The judge has NO legal authority.
Maybe she was previously a real officer, but it is fake here. Real judges only call upon their officers when a party needs escorting out, custody, etc. and never for response or opinion--OR DANCING!
Yup. Look at the patch on her uniform. It's the same generic costume-store "police" uniform that TV and movie cops wear. It's certainly not the court officer's uniform that bailiffs in New York City (where this is filmed) wear. Still, Judge David Young is great to watch because he's fabulous.
The court officer has probably never been a real bailiff. Most likely, she is just a studio actress playing her role as directed. This is all just entertainment, sometimes to the point of disgracing the bench and the real judicial system, even if the judges were ONCE real judges.
I have nothing against an individual's lifestyle choices, but a courtroom is NOT the acceptable forum in which we should be able to express our sexuality.
Imagine an overly heterosexual male being on the bench, and a curvaceous woman being one of those in a specific case...and, even a MINOR innuendo being made.

I was on his show last year, and he was very fair. As the defendent, I felt a little nervous about the whole thing, but Judge Young put me very much at ease, and I actually won the case, and got paid too. Go Judge Young. You rock!!!

Get a grip. This is ENTERTAINMENT tv. There is no reality left on tv except for some parts of the news. David Young is a real judge and Tawya Young is a real baliff, they're now just abitrators and entertainers, so they're expected to be outrageous. People would not want to watch a real court show because, if you've never seen one, it's boring as hell. And I don't think his "snapping" is predictably because he does it so awkwardly that's it's more cute than cliche.

David is exactly as you see him on TV. I worked with him in 1990 at the Board of County Commissioners, before he was a judge...our out...but it was obvious. I'm glad for him!

I met Judge David Young. He found me on my space, I am a designer LADY G. The Judge is a wonderful person and his bailiff Tawya is a Doll. THE STUDIO IS IN NEW YORK CITY, ON 106TH STREET AND PARK AVE.. STOP BY AND SAY "HELLO". WE WILL BE GLADY TO SEE YOU!

LOL this guy is no focused on being entertaining he overlooks little facts....a month to month rental case with payments due on the 10th.....defendent had checks for October 10 November 10 and December 10...dod not pay in January since she felt she was owed comp time and returned rented equipment on Febriary 9...no lease..no 30 day notice...he sais she owed 2 months...jamuary and for the 9 days in February...LOL...but he did prance and skip for the audience..

These TV judges are not real judges any more. They may have been in the past, but they are now TV performers for TV studios and, though the disputes may be pulled from real cases, there is no real legal authority. The people in the court audience are simply guests, not other litigants like in a real court, and the courtroom is just a stage set. The litigants are paid a paltry sum for their appearances plus travel, lodging, and meals.

I seen the show. It is great to see a Gay Judge in action.
The court officer though is so over the top with all her wigs,attitude, and facial expressions, it is hard to believe she is a real court officer.

Remember, these shows are NOT real courts. They are stage sets for TV production seeking ratings. I did a Judge Joe Brown episode, and it was shockingly FAKE. They even had pre-scripted the outcome before we even taped the show. The courtroom is cardboard, contact paper, and plywood. The judge has NO legal authority.

Maybe she was previously a real officer, but it is fake here. Real judges only call upon their officers when a party needs escorting out, custody, etc. and never for response or opinion--OR DANCING!

Yup. Look at the patch on her uniform. It's the same generic costume-store "police" uniform that TV and movie cops wear. It's certainly not the court officer's uniform that bailiffs in New York City (where this is filmed) wear. Still, Judge David Young is great to watch because he's fabulous.

The court officer has probably never been a real bailiff. Most likely, she is just a studio actress playing her role as directed. This is all just entertainment, sometimes to the point of disgracing the bench and the real judicial system, even if the judges were ONCE real judges.

I have nothing against an individual's lifestyle choices, but a courtroom is NOT the acceptable forum in which we should be able to express our sexuality.
Imagine an overly heterosexual male being on the bench, and a curvaceous woman being one of those in a specific case...and, even a MINOR innuendo being made.
There wouldn't be enough space for peanut gallery members yammering about sexual harassment, would there*lol??
